Abstract

This study investigates the application of machine learning for optimizing capital allocation and project management in the industrial sector under financial market complexity and macroeconomic uncertainty. The research aims to explore machine learning algorithms, analyze their effectiveness in improving investment decision efficiency and risk mitigation, integrate real-time risk-based allocation approaches, and compare the proposed methods with traditional frameworks such as the mean-variance model (MVO). The methodology combines literature review, case studies, and numerical simulations using historical data from 2017 to 2022. The framework consists of volatility forecasting using LSTM, differentiable risk budgeting for adaptive target-risk adjustment, and deep reinforcement learning (DDPG-TiDE) to optimize asset allocation policies within a Markov Decision Process (MDP). Model performance is evaluated using Sharpe ratio, maximum drawdown, and portfolio turnover efficiency, while interpretability is validated using SHAP. Simulation results show a 23–55% improvement in Sharpe ratio compared to traditional risk parity strategies and a 41% reduction in maximum drawdown during volatile market periods. The study also demonstrates that SHAP enhances transparency by identifying key drivers such as market volatility, credit spread, and the yield curve. The findings conclude that machine learning can be a game changer for improving efficiency, real-time risk mitigation, and adaptive decision-making, while highlighting challenges related to data quality, model complexity, AI governance, and integration with legacy systems.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) activity aims to help MSMEs implement a competency-based performance assessment system to ensure clearer division of labor, increased productivity, and more consistent service/product quality. Partners' issues include the lack of written work standards, subjective employee assessments, unclear targets, and difficulty in determining training needs. The program is implemented through needs assessments, the development of a simple MSME competency dictionary, the creation of assessment tools (competency forms and operational KPIs), assessment implementation training, and trial assistance for a specific period. The output is a performance assessment system package (competency + KPI) ready for use by MSMEs, complete with assessment SOPs, sample forms, and competency development plans.

Abstract

This study examines impulsive buying behavior in the context of live commerce on the Shopee platform, in line with the rapid growth of live commerce in Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design, the research integrates a quantitative phase (online survey), a qualitative phase (in-depth interviews and netnography), and stimulus effectiveness testing through A/B testing. The conceptual framework is developed based on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) model with modifications that incorporate social interaction as part of the stimulus and leads to impulsive responses. The findings indicate that live commerce features—such as social interaction features, scarcity cues, entertainment value, and ease of purchase—affect consumers’ psychological states, particularly emotional arousal and FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), which in turn drive impulsive buying. Moreover, social influence and cognitive engagement function as critical moderators that strengthen the relationship between live commerce stimuli and impulsive buying tendencies. Qualitative insights, netnography, transaction data analysis, and eye-tracking results reveal a temporal mechanism of impulsive buying across activation–amplification–action stages, including a predictable “impulse window” within live sessions. The study also highlights post-purchase outcomes, such as regret and the need for self-control, providing both theoretical contributions and practical recommendations for merchants, the platform, and consumers.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become essential for manufacturing companies to improve operational efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness, yet its implementation is frequently hindered by employee resistance rooted in cultural factors. This study aims to identify and analyze the relationship between organizational culture and resistance to change in the context of digital transformation, including resistance mechanisms such as competence anxiety, status loss, information overload, and fear of losing autonomy. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design in manufacturing firms undergoing digital transformation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and documentation/archival studies, and were analyzed using triangulation that integrates qualitative and quantitative findings. The results indicate a significant relationship between an adaptive and innovative organizational culture and a low level of resistance. Companies with a culture that supports innovation demonstrate higher technology adoption and better readiness, whereas hierarchical and rigid cultures tend to create uncertainty and resistance. The findings also highlight the critical roles of transparent communication and active leadership, supported by training and early employee involvement, as key strategies to reduce resistance. The study implies that organizations must manage and reshape their culture to create a more supportive work environment for adopting new technologies and to accelerate successful digital transformation.

Abstract

This study examines digital content personalization strategies to enhance customer loyalty in Indonesian e-commerce, an industry experiencing rapid growth yet facing major retention challenges (high churn). The study aims to analyze the level of implementation, the impact of personalization, key factors affecting its effectiveness, the mechanism linking personalization to loyalty, and to develop an actionable framework tailored to the Indonesian context. Using a mixed-methods design with a sequential explanatory approach, the research includes a quantitative phase (survey of 500 respondents) and a qualitative phase (in-depth interviews, case studies, expert interviews, and focus group discussions). The findings indicate that digital content personalization significantly affects customer loyalty with a total effect of β = 0.45. β=0.45, mediated by perceived relevance, customer satisfaction, and trust in brand. The results further highlight the importance of data quality, as well as the moderating roles of privacy concerns and customer involvement. In addition, real-time personalization and omnichannel integration are more effective than batch approaches. The study proposes the Indonesian E-commerce Personalization Framework (IEPF) structured around four pillars (Data Foundation, Technology Enablement, Content Strategy, and Measurement & Optimization) and estimates an average ROI of 382%. The research implies that effective personalization depends not only on technology, but also on understanding consumers’ behaviors and privacy concerns.

Abstract

This study examines corporate portfolio strategies in manufacturing firms by comparing two main approaches—focus strategy and diversification strategy—and assessing the role of sustainability through ESG-based diversification. The research aims to (1) compare the effectiveness of focus versus diversification, (2) analyze their impacts on financial performance and risk management, and (3) explore how sustainability-oriented diversification can generate competitive advantage and support long-term growth. The study applies a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis using key financial performance indicators (e.g., ROA, ROE, revenue growth, diversification index, and debt ratio) with qualitative case studies. The findings indicate that focus strategy generally delivers better market performance, with an average shareholder return (rTSR) of 2.3% compared to 1.6% for more diversified firms. Nevertheless, diversification remains important for spreading risk and sustaining growth stability. ESG-based diversification further strengthens innovation, mitigates regulatory and reputational risks, and enables access to new markets that increasingly demand environmentally friendly products. The study recommends an integrated approach: strengthen core competencies first, then pursue measured diversification into related segments while integrating ESG principles, enabling manufacturing companies to achieve business sustainability amid global uncertainty.

Abstract

This study examines corporate governance in the face of disruptive technologies in Indonesia’s industries, with an emphasis on organizations (particularly in e-commerce) undergoing digital transformation. The study highlights that digital transformation is not merely a technology investment, but a strategic necessity that requires alignment among business strategy, corporate governance practices, and human resource adaptability. Disruptive technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and Big Data can enhance transparency and operational efficiency as well as strengthen decision-making, but they also introduce new challenges, including cyber threats, difficulties in integrating legacy systems, data privacy and security issues, and evolving regulatory constraints. The research employs a literature review approach, thematic analysis, and case-study insights within Indonesian company contexts. The findings indicate that successful digital transformation is strongly influenced by the ability of governance to adapt, the presence of effective digital leadership, and the implementation of adaptive governance to anticipate and manage disruptive risks. The study also shows that transformation failures are often caused by legacy system issues, skill gaps in digital capabilities, inadequate budgeting and ROI risk management, cybersecurity threats, and weak internal communication. The recommendations stress the importance of integrating traditional governance mechanisms with adaptive/agile approaches, including the use of IT governance frameworks such as COBIT to improve governance maturity and oversight effectiveness.

Abstract

As digitalization increases and reliance on information systems grows, cyber threats have evolved into significant strategic risks—especially for non-technical organizations that often lack adequate IT resources or in-depth expertise. This study aims to develop a cyber risk governance framework relevant to non-technical companies by drawing on principles from AICD & CSCRC and the defensive social engineering approach proposed by MIT Sloan. The proposed framework includes stakeholder identification, risk management procedures, and integrated reporting and evaluation mechanisms. The theoretical foundation highlights the importance of treating cyber risk as a strategic risk. Therefore, strengthening a security culture through employee education and training is emphasized as a vital non-technical approach. Appointing a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is also discussed as a way to bridge the gap between technical needs and managerial governance, covering policy, training, and readiness evaluation. The research employs a qualitative methodology using literature study, with qualitative analysis mapped to five main components: leadership and accountability, education and training, risk management, policies and procedures, and collaboration and reporting. The findings indicate that a systematic approach is necessary to internalize a security culture across the organization. In conclusion, non-technical organizations should adopt strategic steps in cyber risk governance to minimize potential financial and reputational losses.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and digitalization, diversity, inclusion, and structural equity have become essential elements in the human resource management of industrial companies. Organizations are not only required to deliver high-quality products and services, but also to create a workplace that is welcoming, fair, and inclusive for all employees. This article examines the implementation of diversity management, inclusion, and structural equity in industrial workplaces using a literature review, policy comparisons, and case analysis. The study aims to understand the foundational concepts of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), evaluate the impact of DEI programs on company performance and competitiveness, and identify obstacles and best solutions for optimizing DEI—particularly structural fairness. The findings suggest that successful DEI implementation is driven by strong top management commitment, stakeholder involvement, inclusive training and development programs, and adaptive policies based on employees’ real needs (e.g., adjustments to personal protective equipment and working schedules). At the same time, challenges such as unconscious bias, resistance to change, differences in needs across worker groups, and limited resources must be addressed through open communication, data-driven decision-making, and transparent evaluation practices.

Abstract

This study qualitatively examines the roles of data transparency, customer privacy, and regulatory compliance in maintaining customer trust and minimizing legal risks, particularly in the context of Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022 / UU PDP). In the digital era, data has become a strategic asset for companies, making transparent data governance and strong privacy protections essential for building market trust and responsible corporate governance. The research aims to analyze how data transparency contributes to trust, identify challenges in safeguarding customer privacy, and assess compliance mechanisms under the UU PDP to mitigate legal risks. Using document analysis and case studies, the findings indicate that consistent transparency enhances credibility, while privacy safeguards are crucial to prevent data misuse. The study recommends strengthening the integration of transparency practices, enhancing consumers’ rights regarding their data, and promoting collaboration among stakeholders to protect customer privacy and ensure adherence to the regulatory framework.
