Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between fair work practices and work-life balance among employees in high-intensity industries in Indonesia, as well as their impact on organizational outcomes. The research employed a quantitative correlational design. Data were collected through online questionnaire surveys, supported by semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions, with a total sample of 300 professional employees who had worked for at least one year in technology, finance, consulting, advertising, and startup sectors. Fair work practices were measured using the Organizational Justice Scale (Colquitt, 2001) covering four dimensions (distributive, procedural, interactional, and informational justice), while work-life balance was measured using the Work-Life Balance Scale (Fisher-McAuley et al., 2003). Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), and mediation effects were tested using bootstrapping. The results indicate that fair work practices are implemented at a moderate-to-high level (mean = 4.25), whereas work-life balance remains at a moderate level (mean = 3.65). Fair work practices have a positive and significant effect on work-life balance (β = 0.48; p < 0.001). Moreover, both fair work practices and work-life balance positively and significantly influence job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and performance. Work-life balance also significantly mediates the relationship between fair work practices and all organizational outcomes (mediation effects range from 0.173 to 0.197). These findings highlight the importance of fair work practices as an organizational resource to improve employee well-being and performance in high-intensity work environments.

Abstract

This study examines the management of multicultural organizational culture in Indonesian companies within the context of globalization and free trade agreements. With its vast cultural diversity, Indonesia presents both challenges and opportunities for firms to enhance competitiveness by managing diversity more effectively. The research aims to analyze and evaluate multicultural organizational culture management practices, including the effects of free trade on organizational dynamics and structure, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing such management. The findings indicate that leaders must possess cultural awareness and strong communication skills to create an inclusive workplace environment. The study further recommends that both companies and the government formulate policies to support MSME development and implement efficient management strategies, enabling firms—particularly MSMEs—to maximize the benefits of free trade.

Abstract

This article examines the management practices of circular economy in companies within the manufacturing and fashion sectors. Circular economy is presented as an alternative to the traditional linear production model (“take–make–use–dispose”), which typically leads to high waste generation and inefficient resource consumption. The study aims to identify and describe existing practices, analyze implementation challenges (including operational, financial, regulatory, and consumer perception aspects), and review adaptive solutions and strategies that companies can adopt. Using a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review, the article finds that the transition to a circular economy is shaped by factors such as consumer awareness, production and operational costs, and policy support. In manufacturing, a shift toward servitisation/Product-as-a-Service (PaaS), the application of circular design (e.g., value hill), and cross-supply-chain collaboration—often enabled by digital technologies (IoT, sensors, traceability)—are highlighted. In fashion, circular practices include rental models, resale/recommerce, and repair programs that emphasize durability and repairability to move away from fast fashion. Key challenges include high initial investment costs, inconsistent regulatory support, changes in consumer behavior, and the need for close coordination among supply-chain stakeholders. The article offers strategic recommendations for industry players and policymakers to support a more effective transition toward circular economy.

Abstract

This study examines significant changes in employee experience, employee engagement, and employee well-being in Indonesia’s industrial sector in the post-COVID-19 period. Using a qualitative conceptual approach through a systematic literature review, the research aims to analyze employees’ work experiences, assess engagement levels, and evaluate well-being across physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions. Findings indicate a shift toward remote and hybrid work models, where about 83% of employees prefer this flexible arrangement. Nevertheless, the transition also brings challenges, including increased workload, heightened mental pressure, and declining well-being. The study identifies key factors influencing these three areas: adaptive leadership (e-leadership), organizational support (Perceived Organizational Support/POS), and the importance of digital transformation supported by employee training. The paper provides strategic recommendations for management to enhance employee experience, sustain engagement, and support employee well-being in the post-pandemic context.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test an adaptive organizational change framework in response to unstable market dynamics caused by trade wars. Since 2018, escalating global trade conflicts have created a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) business environment through tariff fluctuations, export–import restrictions, regulatory uncertainty, and disruptions to global supply chains. These effects significantly influence organizational performance, particularly in countries highly dependent on international trade such as Indonesia. The research employs a mixed-methods design with a sequential exploratory approach: qualitative data to construct the framework and quantitative data to validate it. The findings indicate that the impact of the trade war positively affects the need for adaptive organizational change. In addition, environmental scanning capability, organizational structural flexibility, and an adaptive organizational culture enhance adaptation capability and change implementation success. Strategic agility is also found to positively affect organizational performance in a VUCA environment, while the proposed Adaptive Organizational Change Framework (AOCF) effectively improves organizational resilience. The framework implementation further mediates the relationship between environmental pressures and organizational performance. The study produces an AOCF consisting of six main components: Environmental Intelligence System, Adaptive Strategy Formulation, Agile Organizational Structure, Dynamic Resource Management, Change-Ready Culture, and Continuous Learning Mechanism. These components can serve as diagnostic tools and practical guidance for organizations to implement adaptive change.

Abstract

This study empirically examines carbon footprint measurement within supply chain management and the role of financial incentives in driving emission reductions. Since supply chains may contribute up to 90% of a company’s emissions and indirect emissions (Scope 3) can be as much as 26 times higher than operational emissions, the study highlights key challenges including incomplete supplier emission data, variability in measurement methodologies, and adoption barriers for enabling technologies. It also analyzes the effectiveness of sustainable funding models—such as Sustainable Supply Chain Finance (SSCF), sustainability-linked loans (SLL), and green bonds—as well as internal incentive mechanisms cost-sharing (CS) and preferential financing (PF). The findings indicate that well-designed financial incentives can increase the likelihood that suppliers reduce emissions by up to 52%. The study further proposes the use of innovative technologies, including blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT), to improve the accuracy, transparency, and real-time verification of emissions data. Overall, the research concludes that integrating robust measurement systems with performance-based incentives is a crucial strategy for companies to enhance emissions management and supply chain sustainability.
