Abstract

The Waste Bank is a banking concept by saving waste whose aim is not only to increase the incentives of the user community, but the main thing is as an effort to overcome problems related to waste management. The 3R (reduce, reuse, and recycle) culture should be implemented and become a habit for all levels of society. Because if you don't get used to it immediately, it will have an impact on more and more waste going to the Final Processing Site. One of these problems occurs in Pontianak City. The waste that enters the Batu Layang Final Processing Site reaches 285 tons per day in period I of 2022. This is triggered by the still not massive 3R culture and waste segregation using the Waste Bank. This problem is not only the responsibility of state actors but also non-state actors, one of which is the younger generation. This research was conducted to analyze the participation of youth as non-state actors to overcome waste management problems through the Student Waste Bank program. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data in this study were collected from literature studies and documentation studies. The results of this study found that efforts to preserve a sustainable environment have been pursued by the younger generation through the Student Waste Bank as carried out by students and alumni of Universitas Tanjungpura which has been synergistically initiated since 2021 until now. The recommendations from this research are for the government, academia, and institutions to work together synergistically to support the cultivation of 3R and the optimal use of the Waste Bank by the community.

Abstract

For all generations, not just Generation Z, who are often labelled as digital natives, having the skill to use technology appropriately and effectively is essential as it is a vital part of our life. Since we cannot be certain that we have the abilities required to evaluate digital information, understanding digital literacy is even more important in the context of higher education because it helps us to measure and define our skill in using digital information. Therefore, this comparative study aims at measuring the Digital Literacy (DL) of Face-to-Face (FTF) campus students (group 1) and Distance Learning (DLe) campus students (group 2). The Digital Literacy Scale (DLS) was distributed to 500 students at various levels (freshman undergraduates to postgraduates) spread across several campuses in Indonesia which apply Distance Learning or Face-to-Face Learning. The result of the analysis provides an up-to-date overview of the DL abilities of students in relation to their learning and socialization skills during their time as students. Furthermore, we also discuss the implications that indicate how they will continue to adapt to the drastic changes in the era of Industry 4.0.

Abstract

The categorization of tomato maturity is covered in this study, which has important ramifications for the food sector and agriculture. For training efficiency, the approach uses augmentation with adjustments to rescale picture pixel values and shrink image sizes. According to the experiment's findings, accuracy increased by 93% throughout five training epochs. The training and validation graph indicates steady progress, despite the lack of significance in the improvement. Misclassifications that require correction are found during evaluation utilizing the confusion matrix. The study emphasizes that to enhance agricultural production management, flaws in the model must be filled and accuracy must be increased. The amount and diversity of photos in the dataset should be increased, as should the shooting angles and lighting conditions, and hyperparameters should be adjusted for future model performance optimization.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of image histograms with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) using TensorFlow for gender classification. The research focuses on preprocessing techniques that significantly reduce the dimensionality of image data, enhancing computational efficiency model performance. Data augmentation methods, including rotation, shifting, and flipping, were applied to diversify the training dataset. The CNN model achieved high accuracy and validation accuracy, demonstrating its robustness. The findings reveal that the preprocessing steps effectively condensed the pixel to be 151,321 while retaining critical features for classification. The study underscores the potential applications of this methodology in security, marketing, and healthcare, where accurate gender classification is essential. Future research should explore more diverse datasets, advanced model architectures, and enhanced feature extraction methods to further improve performance. This research contributes to the field by offering a comprehensive approach to efficient and accurate gender classification, supported by robust data augmentation and preprocessing techniques.

Abstract

The availability of drinking water that is safe and suitable for consumption is important to support health and development. This research emphasises the importance of handling the clean water crisis through the evaluation of drinking water quality using data mining algorithms.  The dringking water quality evaluation method was selected using the K-Nearest Neighbors and Naive Bayes algorithms, replacing the manual method which is less responsive in predicting. The experimental process was conducted by utilising Kaggle website data by applying data processing and oversampling techniques to handle class imbalance in the dataset used. Bases on the research results, the accurancy of the K-Nearest Neighbors Algorithm reaches 65%, which is higher than the accuracy od the Naive Bayes Algorithm which is 64%. So it can be concluded that the K-Nearest Neighbors Algorithm is more effective in predicting the quality of water suitable for consumption. This research provides an in-depth insight into the use of technology and data analysis in dealing with the crisis in the availability of water suitable for consumption and offers suggestions for further research using more diverse methods and the use of more datasets to improve accuracy in evaluating the quality of potable water.

Abstract

Purple corn has many benefits for body health so it is necessary to develop research related to this plant. This research aims to obtain information on the effect of giving trichocompost on the production of purple corn plants as well as the recommended dosage of trichocompost fertilizer based on research results. The design method used was Randomized Block Design with treatment in the form of different doses of trichocompost fertilizer (0 tons/ha, 20 tons/ha, 25 tons/ha, 30 tons/ha, and 35 tons/ha).  Analysis of variance and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test showed that the application of trichocompost doses had a significant effect on cob length, cob diameter, and purple corn plant yield. An application of 25 tons/ha of trichocompost can be used as the most efficient recommended dose.

Abstract

The Scrapbook media comes from the English " scrap " which means leftovers, scraps and " book " means book. According to (Zuraini & Nurhayati, 2021) which is packaged in book form by combining various pieces of images as well as explanations, it is hoped that it will attract attention to the use of scrapbook media on the results. studying fine arts students in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Baranti. This research is quasi experimental with a one group pretest post test design . The population of this study was the entire class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Baranti, totaling 76 people. The sample was determined using random sampling technique. The sample for this research was 27 students in class VIII.c, which was carried out using a test method in the form of multiple choices and questionnaires to measure student learning outcomes, both completeness in learning and punctuality in receiving material. The results of the research show that there is effectiveness in using scrapbook media on the learning outcomes of class VIII fine arts students at SMP Negeri 2 Baranti. This is shown from the results of the paired sample T-test pretest and posttest data on student learning outcomes. obtained a significance value . Based on the results of this research which have been analyzed, then it is obtained average value M x = 85 .00 > M y = 66.48. So it can be concluded that this research shows that there is effectiveness in using Scrapbook media on student learning outcomes.
