Abstract

This research was motivated by children's lack of creativity in creating and selecting appropriate learning media for students. Because it is still dominated by Children's Worksheets (LKA). The aim of this research is to describe the use of loose parts media to develop creativity in early childhood as well as supporting and inhibiting factors for the use of loose parts media in the Pembina Waisai State Kindergarten. This research uses qualitative field research methods. The data source was taken from the B1 group of the Pembina Waisai State Kindergarten. Research instruments include observation, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman analysis which consists of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results obtained from this research show that the use of loose parts media in learning plays a role in developing creativity in early childhood by carrying out all stages of using loose parts media using playing strategies, tidying up and storing things as well as various strategies for increasing creativity (product creation, imagination , exploration, and experimentation). In this regard, the supporting factors for the use of loose parts media lie in the role of good teachers and parents as well as the availability of a variety of loose parts media around the school environment and the inhibiting factors lie in children's interests and moods which cannot be conditioned properly.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the use of natural media in improving initial writing skills in group a aged 4-5 years. Natural material media was chosen as the focus of the research because of its potential to provide diverse sensory experiences and stimulate the development of children's motor skills. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a control group and a treatment group. The treatment group received intervention using natural media, while the control group received conventional learning. The data collection instrument consisted of an initial writing ability test, observation of children's involvement, and interviews with teachers. The research results were analyzed using descriptive statistics and tests of differences between groups. The findings of this research indicate that the use of natural media has a positive impact on the early writing abilities of children aged 4-5 years. Children in the treatment group showed significant improvements in aspects of fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination, while the control group showed more limited improvements. The implications of the results of this research can provide recommendations to educators and parents to consider using natural media to support the development of children's early writing skills. In addition, this research can be a basis for further research in the context of using natural media for early childhood learning.

Abstract

This research aims to improve counting skills through bead stringing activities in 5-6-year-old children at Shekinah Waisai Early Childhood Education. The use of bead stringing as a medium engages children directly in the learning process. This study employed a collaborative classroom action research method, which involved cooperation with the class teacher in the research implementation. The research model used was the classroom action research model emphasizing the implementation process developed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subjects of this research were 12 children aged 5-6 years. Data collection methods involved the use of observation sheets (checklists), and data analysis was conducted quantitatively. The findings of this research show that color recognition skills can be improved through bead stringing activities. In the learning process, children were given the opportunity to engage in bead stringing activities using various simple and appealing bead stringing materials. The results gradually improved, as observed during the pre-action stage, reaching 61%. It further increased in the first meeting of cycle I to 61%, and increased again in the second meeting to 64%. Counting skills improved in cycle II, reaching 72% in the first meeting, and further increased to 83% in the second meeting, achieving the success target set by the researcher.

Abstract

The Rebo Botong ritual is an ancestral heritage of the Sasak tribe in East Lombok, NTB, whose aim is to ward off danger and maintain the safety of its citizens. Although, applying Islamic teachings by using prayers and reading verses of the holy Qur'an as well as praying to the Prophet SAW, this does not prevent oneself from the pros and cons of a society that is modern and has a different understanding of the Islamic religion. The theoretical framework of this study uses a ritual communication and cultural da'wah approach, and the method chosen is a case study with in-depth interviews and field observations with five people, with the criteria: one person (traditional leader), two people (educator and activist), and 2 people ordinary residents of the Sasak Tribe (Pringgabaya Village) East Lombok. The results of this research found that the Rebo Botong ritual was carried out to preserve ancestral culture with an Islamic framework and local traditions, and is now developing into tourism and attracting sponsors who can promote this ritual. Although, some residents no longer follow the Rebo Botong ritual because their educational background and religious understanding are different from those of the Sasak tribe who still adhere to this custom.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the achievements, challenges and orientations for Vietnam-India defense and security cooperation since both sides elevated their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in September 2016. The study is based on qualitative analysis methods, using data from secondary documents related to Vietnam-India relations. The results show that since 2016, Vietnam and India have made significant progress in defense and security cooperation through various activities such as high-level exchanges, policy dialogues, military equipment transfers and joint training. However, some constraints remain regarding more advanced forms of cooperation. While defense ties have grown remarkably, continued efforts are needed to tap the full potential. Regional tensions also persist with China’s unilateral actions in the South China Sea. In that context, Vietnam and India need to further strengthen defense and security cooperation by expanding engagements in key areas and effectively implementing signed agreements. There is ample room for both sides to foster this key pillar of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and ensure peace in the Indo-Pacific region.
