Abstract

This research examines the impact of Digital Technology on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) activities (in terms of profits and business expansion). The selected sample was 320 SMEs which included 150 SMEs that adopted Digital Technology in their business activities and 170 SMEs that did not adopt Digital Technology in their business but were in the same business field as those that adopted DT. Questionnaires are used to obtain information from these SMEs. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and econometric analysis [Propensity Score Matching (PSM)]. The results obtained from the PSM analysis show that the implementation of DT has helped business expansion in the study area among SMEs that adopted DT compared to SMEs that did not adopt DT. However, the implementation of DT has not had a significant impact on the profits of SMEs in the study area compared to non-participating SMEs in DT. Therefore, it is suggested that the adoption of DT is highly recommended among SMEs as this tends to increase business expansion. On the other hand, so that the impact of DT can be felt on entrepreneurs' profits, the costs of implementing DT must be reduced through assistance in the form of grants, subsidies, tax exemptions, tax holidays, and free consultation services in the field. DT areas and loans at lower interest rates should be provided by authorities and stakeholders to encourage SMEs to adopt digital technologies in their businesses.

Abstract

The biggest obstacle for teachers and tutors is the lack of students' vocabulary. It causes students to feel difficulty understanding the meaning of English, particularly their performance in applying and developing four skills of English. Therefore, this research aims to enhance students' English vocabulary mastery through a semantic mapping learning model. This model was applied to seventh-grade students in the 7.2 class of MTs Al-Yusra Gorontalo, consisting of ten students. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was used as the method of this study. For collecting data, there are four phases of CAR used; they were planning, action, observation, and reflection. Two cycles were applied in this study because the first cycle did not improve students' vocabulary. Based on the data finding on cycle one, the scoring average of students' task results was 56,2. It is because 80% of students still got a low score, and 20% got a perfect score. The content of the task was about the questions of material "Noun". Then, in cycle two, it was applied by involving students in the classroom action; they were asked to present the result of their group discussion of semantic mapping of Noun material. After that, they did the second task, and the average of their score was 79,5. It could be concluded that the semantic mapping model greatly affected the students' mastery of the vocabulary taught by the teacher.

The rubber tree (natural rubber) is a tropical crop around the world. In Cambodia, rubber is one of the most popular agro-industrial crops introduced since the 1910s. This study review article aims to demonstrate the methods for planting and harvesting techniques in rubber plantations. Cultivation is the most important factor in the rubber sector, and planting is done during June and July. Moreover, selecting varieties of clonal rubber is the best way to improve high production, high initial vigor, tolerance to climate change, pests, wind damage, and diseases, and to be a good secondary characteristic. In addition, harvesting techniques are vital elements in the status of rubber plantations. So, improving the methods of cultivation and the techniques of harvesting is very important in order to get a high amount of rubber production.
