Abstract

Discipline character is one of the essential aspects that should be instilled from an early age because it plays an important role in shaping children's orderly, responsible behavior and their ability to follow rules in daily life. However, some children still do not demonstrate optimal disciplinary behavior, making it necessary to implement a habituation method consistently to help develop discipline character in children aged 5–6 years. This study aimed to determine the effect of the habituation method on the development of discipline character among children aged 5–6 years at PAUD Permata Hati Medan. The study employed a quantitative approach using a One-Group Pretest–Posttest design. The sample consisted of 30 children selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a structured observation sheet based on six indicators of discipline character. The pretest results showed that the average achievement of children's discipline indicators ranged from 35% to 38%, while after the implementation of the habituation method, the posttest results increased to 58%–74%. These findings indicate that the habituation method, when implemented consistently, repeatedly, and supported by teacher role modeling, has a positive effect on the development of discipline character in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Educandy media in improving students’ listening skills at the Kepong Learning Centre, Malaysia. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest scheme to examine changes in students’ listening abilities within a single research group. An initial assessment (pretest) and a final assessment (posttest) were administered to identify changes in listening skills before and after the intervention. Data were collected using observation instruments and subsequently analyzed using quantitative statistical methods. Hypothesis testing using a paired samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS version 22 produced a two-tailed significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The result indicates that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted, confirming a statistically significant improvement in students’ listening skills after the implementation of Educandy media. Therefore, the use of Educandy as an interactive learning medium provides a positive contribution to improving students’ listening skills at the Kepong Learning Centre, Malaysia.

Abstract

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has generated ethical concerns regarding human responsibility, academic honesty, and epistemic authority. Although existing AI ethics frameworks emphasize accountability, transparency, human oversight, and academic integrity, limited attention has been given to how these concerns can be critically interpreted through Islamic educational philosophy. This study aimed to examine the ethical challenges of AI use in Islamic education and to formulate an ethical framework grounded in Islamic philosophical principles. Employing a qualitative philosophical inquiry and library research approach, the study critically analyzed primary works of Al-Ghazali and Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas alongside recent scholarship on AI ethics, academic integrity, and Islamic education. The findings identified three interconnected challenges: the difficulty of maintaining human accountability for AI-generated outputs, the complexity of academic honesty in AI-assisted work, and the emerging question of AI’s epistemic authority. The analysis further demonstrates that amanah, adab, ṣidq, and 'ilm provide complementary principles for addressing these challenges. The study contributes a conceptually grounded framework that positions AI as an educational instrument rather than an autonomous moral or epistemic authority, with implications for AI policies, academic integrity, curriculum development, and ethical educational practice in Islamic contexts.

Abstract

Low proficiency in reading pantun among elementary school students highlights the need to create engaging learning media tailored to their characteristics. This study aims to develop the PANTUN-GO! comic medium and evaluate its validity and suitability for teaching pantun to fifth-grade elementary students. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which comprises five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Product validation was conducted by two subject matter experts and two media experts, while a limited implementation involved fifth-grade students at SD 1 Bae. Research instruments included expert validation sheets, which were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques involving percentage calculations. Validation results indicate that the PANTUN-GO! comic medium received scores of 89.4% from subject matter experts and 93.8% from media experts, both falling into the "very good" category. Following revisions based on validator feedback, the PANTUN-GO! comic medium was deemed valid and suitable for use as a learning tool for teaching pantun to fifth-grade elementary students. The developed medium is expected to serve as an engaging and relevant learning option that aligns with the characteristics of elementary school students.
