Abstract

This study seeks to examine the relationship between social support provided by caregivers and the level of self-confidence among children at the Al-Fajril Ulum daycare. Social support from caregivers, including emotional attention, positive interactions, and opportunities for children to explore their surroundings, is assumed to play a vital role in children’s psychosocial development, particularly in fostering self-confidence. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving caregivers and early childhood children at the Al-Fajril Ulum daycare as respondents. Data analysis revealed a strong and significant positive correlation between caregiver social support and children’s self-confidence (r = 0.76, p < 0.05). These results suggest that higher levels of social support are associated with stronger self-confidence in children. Children who receive consistent emotional support and encouragement tend to show greater confidence in social interactions and learning activities. The findings highlight the critical role of caregiver involvement and the quality of care provided in childcare institutions as a fundamental basis for supporting children’s emotional and social development during early childhood.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of caregiver parenting styles on the fine motor development of early childhood in daycare environments through a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The analysis focuses on key dimensions of caregiving, namely responsiveness, consistency, and the provision of stimulating support, and their relationship with children’s fine motor abilities, including threading, cutting, pasting, and visual–motor coordination. The results reveal a strong positive association between the quality of caregiver parenting and the level of fine motor development in children. Regression analysis further confirms that caregiver parenting quality serves as a significant predictor of improvements in fine motor skills. In addition, several supporting factors, such as a conducive physical environment, an appropriate caregiver-to-child ratio, and well-designed stimulation programs, were found to strengthen the impact of caregiving practices in daycare settings. These findings emphasize the importance of enhancing caregiver competencies and developing effective caregiving systems to support optimal and sustainable fine motor development in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cultivation of discipline, responsibility, and obedience in worship through the habituation of Dhuha prayer among early childhood students at TK Muslimat NU Plumpang. Character education in early childhood is fundamental in shaping children's moral and religious foundations. The habituation method is considered effective because early childhood is in the golden age phase where imitation and repetition strongly influence behavioral formation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and school principals, and documentation. The results show that the habituation of Dhuha prayer conducted routinely every morning before learning activities significantly contributes to developing discipline through punctuality and orderly preparation, responsibility through self-preparation and maintaining prayer equipment, and obedience in worship through consistent and guided prayer practice. Supporting factors include teacher role modeling, parental support, and structured school programs, while inhibiting factors involve children’s fluctuating moods and limited parental reinforcement at home. The study implies that structured religious habituation programs effectively strengthen character education in early childhood institutions.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low numeracy skills of children aged 4–5 years at RA Plus An Nuha Sumberejo Rengel, particularly in recognizing number symbols, counting, understanding simple patterns, and matching quantities with number symbols. Numeracy learning, which was still conducted conventionally, caused children to be less active and easily bored during the learning process. Therefore, an innovative learning approach that is more engaging and suitable for early childhood characteristics was needed, one of which was through the implementation of Unplugged Coding Numbers. This study aimed to determine the implementation of Unplugged Coding Numbers in numeracy learning and to identify the improvement of numeracy skills among children aged 4–5 years after the implementation of the activity. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model, which was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants of this study were 11 children aged 4–5 years at RA Plus An Nuha Sumberejo Rengel in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods through percentage calculations of children’s numeracy skill development. The results showed that the implementation of Unplugged Coding Numbers was able to create a more active, interactive, and enjoyable numeracy learning environment through the use of concrete media such as number cards, coding path boards, pattern games, and number coding worksheets. In addition, children’s numeracy skills showed significant improvement. The pre-cycle stage obtained a percentage of 26,82%, which increased to 53,18% in Cycle I and further increased to 92,27% in Cycle II under the category of Very Well Developed. These findings indicate that the implementation of Unplugged Coding Numbers was effective in improving the numeracy skills of children aged 4–5 years at RA Plus An Nuha Sumberejo Rengel in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in children aged 5-6 years through the use of flash cards at RA Aisyaturridho Aek, Batu City. The background of this study is the low ability of children to recognize, name, show, and differentiate hijaiyah letters due to the use of conventional learning methods and the lack of interesting and interactive learning media. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which was implemented in two cycles, where each cycle consisted of the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 20 children in group B. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and documentation, while data analysis used quantitative descriptive techniques by calculating the percentage of children's ability development. The results showed a gradual increase in the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in each cycle. In the pre-cycle stage, the percentage of children's abilities reached 36.50%, then increased in cycle I to 52.40%, and in cycle II increased to 81.00% so that it has met the research success indicators. This increase shows that the use of flash cards is effective in helping children recognize hijaiyah letters through interesting visual stimulation and interactive learning activities. Thus, flash card media can be used as an alternative effective learning media to improve the ability to recognize hijaiyah letters in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of decorative collage activities on the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years at Nurul Usmany Kindergarten, Muaro Paneh, by considering the importance of stimulating motor development at an early age as a basis for children's academic abilities and life skills in the future. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest type, which allows researchers to observe changes in children's abilities before and after being given treatment in the form of systematic decorative collage activities. The research subjects consisted of 15 children selected as research samples, where all participants participated in learning activities that had been structured by the researcher together with the class teacher. Data collection was carried out through direct observation and fine motor development tests, with a focus on aspects of eye-hand coordination, accuracy, and the ability to arrange and stick collage materials. The data obtained were then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test because the results of the normality test showed that the data were not normally distributed, so an appropriate non-parametric analysis method was needed. The results of the study showed an increase in the average score of children's fine motor skills from 2.87 in the pretest to 3.73 in the posttest after being given treatment in the form of decorative collage activities. This increase indicates a significant positive change in children's fine motor skills after participating in these activities repeatedly and in a directed manner. The results of the hypothesis test also showed a significance value of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between creative collage activities on improving fine motor skills in early childhood. These findings indicate that collage activities not only function as artistic activities, but also as an effective learning medium in developing children's fine motor skills. Thus, decorative collage activities can be used as an effective alternative learning method in early childhood education institutions to support children's physical and cognitive development optimally.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought about fundamental changes in patterns of communication and human social relations. Social media, as part of digital culture, not only serves as a means of information exchange but also shapes the ways in which people present themselves, interact, and interpret social reality. This article aims to analyze changes in social relations within digital culture through the perspective of F. Budi Hardiman’s philosophy of technology. This study employsa qualitative method with a literature review approach, focusing on Hardiman’s works as well as relevant literature on digital communication and media culture. The findings indicate that the digital revolution has shifted humanity from homo sapiens toward homo digitalis that is, humans whose existence is increasingly defined by activities within the digital realm. This condition gives rise to the phenomenon of telepresence, leading to a crisis of presence, a reduction in the depth of interpersonal relationships, and an increased potential for dehumanization in social interactions. Therefore, a critical attitude and ethical awareness are necessary so that humans remain subjects capable of controlling technology and maintaining the quality of social relationships amidst the development of digital culture.
