JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi adalah jurnal ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira pada tahun 2023. Jurnal ini diterbitkan sebagai sarana publikasi hasil-hasil penelitian dan pengembangan dalam Bidang Pendidikan Biologi dan Biosain. Kesempatan menulis terbuka untuk umum, baik para peneliti dan akademisi di bidang-bidang terkait. JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi ISSN 2985-8984. Sejak pertama kali diterbitkan. BIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi dilakukan dua kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Mareti dan Oktober. Volume satu JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi memuat hasil penelitian berbagai bidang dalam Biologi. Pada penerbitan perdana (Vol.1 No. 1 Maret Tahun 2023) telah dimuat artikel mengenai Pembelajaran biologi dan Biosain. Selanjutnya dalam terbitan kedua (Vol. 1 No. 2 Oktober 2023) artikel yang diterbitkan masih mengedepankan keterwakilan dua bidang tersebut. Hal ini dilakukan untuk membuka kesempatan yang sama bagi semua pendidik dan laboratorium untuk memanfaatkan jurnal ini sebagai media dalam mempublikasikan gagasan-gagasannya, baik dalam bentuk artikel hasil penelitian maupun artikel kepustakaan. Mulai terbitan ketiga sampai keempat, JBIOEDRA: Jurnal Pendidikan Biologi diperkenalkan dengan cara pengiriman secara bertahap yang dialamatkan kepada organisasi profesi, lemabaga swadaya masyarakat, serta perguruan tinggi swasta. Hal ini selain dimaksudkan agar JBIOEDRA dikenal lebih luas dan pada gilirannya mendapat respon pembaca lebih banyak, baik berbentuk partisipasi artikel ilmiah, saran pengembangan, hingga kemungkinan berlangganan JBIOEDRA setiap kali terbit.

Abstract

Penggunaan antibiotik secara berlebihan dan tidak teratur dapat menyebabkan terjadinya resistensi. Jika terjadi resistensi maka pengobatan yang dilakukan tidak efesien dan memakan biaya kesehatan. Dari permasalahan yang terjadi alternatif yang tepat untuk menghindari terjadinya resistensi adalah memanfaatkan tanaman (herbal) sebagai pengobatan alternatif yang baik dan aman digunakan tanpa efek samping. Salah satu tanaman tradisional yang digunakan sebagai obat untuk menyembuhkan penyakit tipes adalah buah kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) Namun perlu dilakukan penelitian secara ilmiah agar dapat membuktikan khasiatnya Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak buah kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella typhi secara in vitro. Penelitian dilaksanakan di laboratorium mikrobiologi Universitas Katolik Widya Mandira. Jenis Penelitian Thrue Experiment, menggunakan The Posttest Only Control Group Design, dengan 4 perlakuan (P1=25%, P2=50%, P3=75%, P4=100%,) dan 1 kontrol. yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara mengukur diameter zona hambat, yang selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varians (ANAVA) dan BNT 1%. Hasil penelitian mempelihatkan bahwa ekstrak buah kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) berkemampuan sebagai antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri salmonella tyhi yang ditandai dengan Fhitung > Ftabel (8,079 > 7,59) dengan tingkat signifikan 99%. Sedangkan hasil uji lanjutan dengan menggunakan BNT 1% menunjukan bahwa konsentrasi 25% 50%; 75% tidak berbeda nyata sedangkan konsentrasi 25% dan 100%; 50% dan 100%; 25% saling berbeda nyata. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Ekstrak buah kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) terbukti berkemampuan sebagai antibakteri terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri salmonella typhi secara in vitro.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman siswa pada materi pengenalan Organ Tubuh ketika guru bertanya di saat pelajaran yang sudah diulang terus menerus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing dengan menggunakan media alat peraga terhadap pemahaman siswa kelas VIII di SMPK Sta.Familia. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian, Pra Test-Pasca Test dengan kelompok pengendali tidak di acak. Sampel penelitian ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi dan tes yang kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, analisis kovarian dengan berbantuan program SPSS versi 16.0 untuk model Inkuiri Terbimbing dan pembelajaran langsung menunjukan bahwa nilai F hitung dari kedua model pembelajaran adalah sebesar 8,517 dengan nilai signifikansi 0,006 atau lebih kecil dari 0,05. Hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa hipotesis H0 di tolak artinya bahwa tidak ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing dengan menggunakan media alat peraga dan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap pemahaman siswa kelas VIII pada materi pokok sistem pencernaan makanan pada manusia,dan hipotesis penelitian Ha diterima.artinya bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing dengan menggunakan media alat peraga terhadap pemahaman siswa kelas VIII pada materi pokok sistem pencernaan makanan pada manusia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dari data yang diperoleh maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Inkuiri terbimbing terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII pada materi pokok sistem pencernaan makanan pada manusia di SMPK Sta. Familia Kupang tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan data hasil analisis one way-anacova untuk hasil belajar memperoleh nilai probabilitas (sig.) sebesar 0,006 lebih kecil dari taraf signifikan yang ditentukan yaitu 0,05

Abstract

Health is a basic need for human life. With the advancement of medical technology in humans, it is increasingly modern, so that more people choose to go to the hospital or to the health center because the treatment services are more efficient. With more efficient treatment, traditional medicine is rarely found. Even though this treatment is rarely found, some people still use this treatment, due to considerable economic limitations. Therefore it is necessary to add to the community's insight regarding how to manage traditional medicinal plants to treat diseases in humans. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the respondents, determine the potential of medicinal plant species, the parts used to treat diseases and find out the habitus found in the village. Your naitimu. The type of research used is descriptive research, namely by direct observation. The method used in this study is semi-structured interviews. The research procedures include determining key informants, determining respondents, research instruments, interviews, exploration, documentation, identification, description and classification. The results of the study found 15 respondents who had knowledge about medicinal plants with an uneven ratio of the number of male and female respondents, consisting of 7 male respondents and 8 female respondents. The use of medicinal plants by the community is widely known and practiced by people aged 45–49 years. Obtained 18 types of medicinal plants, namely: Cashew (western cashew), Moringa (Moringa oleifera), Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), Soursop (Annona muricata), Aromatic ginger (Kaempferia galanga), Turmeric (Turmeric is long), Curcuma (Curcuma zanthorrhiza), Pawpaw (Upload papaya), Red Amber (Jatropha), Ginger (Zingiber officinale), Patikan Kebo (Euphorbia hirta), For-For (Cylindrical orders), Guava (Psidium guajava), Meniran (Phyllanthus niruri), Kirinyuh (Chromolaena odorata), Mimosa (Mimosa chaste), African Leaf (Vernonia amygdalina) and Basil (Ocimum basilicum). The part of the plant used is the leaves (Leaf), Rhizomes (Rhizomes), Wants (Radix), Young (Stem), and Fruit peel(Pericarpium). There are 4 plant habitus namely herbs, shrubs, shrubs and trees The conclusion from this study was that there were 15 respondents consisting of 7 men and 8 women. The use of medicinal plants by the community is widely known and carried out by people aged 45–49 years. There were 18 types of plants that have medicinal potential. The parts of the plant used are leaves, fruit skin, rhizomes, stems and roots. There are 4 plant habitus namely herbs, shrubs, shrubs and trees.

Abstract

Longot Beach is one of the spiritual tourism destinations located in Lewoblolong Village, Ile Boleng District, East Flores Regency. To date, the number and types of gastropods in the intertidal zone of Longot Beach remain unknown. The purpose of this research is to determine the diversity and abundance of gastropod species at Longot Beach and to develop a biology learning medium in the form of a booklet. This research employs a research and development approach using the ADDIE model. The findings revealed 12 species of gastropods, namely Costoanachis sertulariarum, Cypraea pantherina, Conus miliaris, Conus lividus, Cypraea annulus, Nerita exuvia, Cellana nigrolineata, Cerithium zonatum, Cabestana cutacea, Canarium mutabile, Strombus alatus, and Nassarius mutabilis. The diversity index was calculated at 2.369803632, which falls into the moderate category. The highest species abundance index was 1.1 ind/m², while the lowest was 0.2 ind/m². The validation results of the booklet by media experts achieved a percentage of 80.08%, and by material experts, 89.28%, with an average of 84.68%, categorized as highly valid as a learning medium. The conclusion of this study is as follows: 12 species of gastropods were identified at Longot Beach with a diversity index in the moderate category, species abundance of 0.2 ind/m², and the developed booklet on gastropod diversity and abundance at Longot Beach in Lewoblolong Village is classified as valid for use as a learning medium.

Abstract

The Kemak Leimia Tribe community in Sadi Village is known as one of the famous tribes in Belu Regency. The people of this tribe still use various types of plants in their daily lives, especially in various traditional rituals. The aim of this research is to find out the types of plants used, the parts of the plants used, and how the plants are used in the traditional rituals of this tribe. This research was carried out in March-May 2023 in Sadi Village, East Tasifeto District, Belu Regency. This research uses qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research methods used are interviews, inventory, identification and documentation. The research results show that there are 12 types of plants used in rituals. The most widely used family is the Arecaceae family with 8 plant species in each family used in rituals. The parts of the plant used in the ritual are leaves, fruit, seeds and also contain water. These plants are usually used in rituals such as birth rituals, death rituals, marriage proposals, corn harvest, traditional house feasts, and annual rituals.

Abstract

Local wisdom without using natural ingredients to treat human diseases in Nunusunu Village is still fragmentary (limited/known to certain people). Therefore, academic research needs to be carried out and published so that it is known by many people. This research aims to find out the types of medicinal plants used by the community, the parts of plants used as medicine, the types of diseases treated with medicinal plants, how to process medicinal plants, the types of medicinal plants that are most widely used, the types of medicinal plants cultivated and the reasons for medicinal plants. is cultivated. The type of research used is descriptive research. The method used in collecting data was by means of documentation and semi-structured interviews (attached). The results of the research found that there were 17 types of plants, namely: Taduk (Alstoniascholaris), Kapok (Ceibapentandra), Red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L), Soursop (Annona muricata), Anonak (Annona feticulata), Kirinyuh (Chromolaenaodorata), Papaya ( Carica papaya), Guava (Psidiumguajava), Pomegranate (Punicagranatum), Betel leaf (Piper betle), Binahong (Anrederacordifolia), Lemongrass (Cymbopogoncitratus), Betadin / Jatropha tintir (Jatropha multifida), Moringa leaf (MoringaOleifera ), Mahogany (SwieteniaMahagoni), Aruda (Rutagraveolens), Red Damar (Jatropha). The parts of plants used/utilized as medicine are leaves, stems, seeds, rhizomes/roots. The method of processing/using medicinal plants is by eating them directly, boiling them, burning them, chewing them/pounding them. Types of human diseases that can be treated are back pain, boils, low blood pressure, cancer (uterine and breast), flatulence, bleeding wounds, sore/caved teeth, stomach ache, diarrhea, diabetes/white urine, stomach, tumors, cure external and internal wounds, high fever and worms, coughing, vomiting blood. The types of plants most widely used are red spinach, soursop, anonak, kirinyuh, betel leaf, binahong, lemongrass.The types of plants cultivated are binahong, lemongrass, lemongrass leaves, betel leaves, red spinach, moringa, papaya, pomegranate, soursop, anonak. The reason plants are cultivated is that apart from being medicines to treat diseases in humans, these plants can also be consumed by the public so they are cultivated so they are easy to find and use when needed.The conclusion of this research was that 17 types of plants were obtained. The parts of plants used are leaves, stems, seeds and roots. The method of processing/using medicinal plants is by eating them directly, boiling them, burning them, chewing them/pounding them. And the medicinal plants cultivated by the Nunusunu community are binahong, lemongrass, betel leaves, red spinach, moringa, papaya, pomegranate, soursop, anonak. The reason medicinal plants are cultivated is that apart from being a medicine to treat diseases in humans, these plants can also be consumed by the community. so it is cultivated to be easy to find and use when needed.

Abstract

The use of the discovery learning model at SMA Negeri 1 Amfoang Utara has been implemented by biology subject teachers, but student learning outcomes are still brought to KKM standards, this is caused by the lack of enthusiasm of students in learning so that it influences student learning outcomes. Therefore, to improve student learning outcomes, teachers act as guides by providing opportunities for students to learn actively and directing student learning activities in accordance with learning objectives, using the discovery learning model. discovery learning model, able to increase student activity in the classroom. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the discovery learning model on the learning outcomes of class XI MIA students at SMA Negeri 1 AMFOANG NORTHWEST KUPANG DISTRICT for the 2022/2023 academic year. The type of research used is quantitative research with quasi-experimental methods. The population in this study were all students in class XI MIA at SMA Negeri 1 AMFOANG NORTHWEST KUPANG DISTRICT, with the research sample consisting of classes XI MIA1 and XI MIA2. The data analysis technique in this research uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The research results showed that the average learning outcomes of students in the experimental class obtained a pretest score of 44.45, increasing to 84.09 after being given the posttest. Meanwhile, in the control class, the pretest score was 45.00, increasing to 77.88 after being given the posttest. The number of students who completed in the experimental class was 87.87% and those who did not complete was 12.12%. In the control class the number of students who completed was 66.66% and those who did not complete was 33.33%. Based on the results of the one-way anacova test, a probability value (sig) of 0.004 was obtained, which was smaller than the set value, namely 0.05. This shows that Ha (the discovery learning model has an effect on student learning outcomes) is accepted and H0 (the discovery learning model has no effect on student learning outcomes) is rejected. Based on the research results and discussion of the data obtained, it can be concluded that the discovery learning model influences the learning outcomes of class XI MIA students on the human body defense system material The human body's defense system at SMA Negeri 1 Amfoang northwest Kupang district

Abstract

Diversity of Echinodermata Types in the Oesina Beach Littoral Zone, West Kupang District, Kupang Regency. This research aims to determine the types of Echinoderms in the Oesina Beach Littoral Zone, West Kupang District, Kupang Regency. This research was carried out at Oesina beach, Lifuleo village, West Kupang District, Kupang Regency on 5-10 May 2023 This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach using an exploration method, namely conducting direct observations of echinoderms on Oesina beach, Lifeleo Village, West Kupang District, Kupang District. The research results found that from 4 transects in 15 plots, various types of Echinodermata were found, namely 7 species consisting of 6 families, 6 classes, 4 orders, 6 genera and 2 sub-phyla with a total of 120 individuals. The phylum Echinodermata is the class of sea stars (Asteroidea), brittle stars (Ophiuroidea), sea cucumbers (Holothuroidea) and sea urchins (Echinoidea). Species found at the observation location include Archaster typicus, Ophiarachna affinis, Protoreaster nodulosus, Echinometra oblonga, Echinometra mathae, Holothuria leucospilota, Tripneustes gratilla. The results of calculating the diversity index (H) of echinoderms on Oesina beach, Lifeleo Village, West Kupang District, Kupaten District, are in the high category The conclusion is that the level of diversity of echinoderms in the Oesina Coastal Littoral Zone, West Kupang District, Kupang Regency is 1.83135 which shows high diversity.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik menggunakan model Discoveri Learning kelas XII IPA1 SMA Negeri 1 Kupang Tengah. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research), yang terdiri dari empat komponen dalam setiap siklusnya yaitu perencanaan (planning), tindakan (action), pengamatan (observasi), dan refleksi (refleck). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XII IPA1 SMA Negeri 1 Kupang Tengah yang berjumlah 29 orang. teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Discoveri Learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik, hal ini terlihat dari adanya peningkatan aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada komponen peserta didik aktif bertanya di siklus I hanya mencapai 14% sementara pada siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 51,72%, demikian juga pada pngukuran hasil belajar peserta didik dimana pada siklus I presentasi ketuntasan belajar hanya mencapai 62% dengan kriteria ketuntasan tinggi sementara pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 100% dengan kriteria ketuntasan sangat tinggi. Dari data hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa Motivasi belajar peserta didik pada mata Pelajaran biologi menggunakan model Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Masalah yang terjadi dalam proses pembelajaran adalah Peserta didik kurang aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dikelas sehingga proses pembelajaran terkesan monoton, hal ini menyebabkan hasil belajar peserta didika rendah. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang bisa membuat peserta didik aktif dan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang diguda dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik yaitu model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMA Kristen Poli. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen, dengan Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Nonrandomized Control group Desing. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hasil belajar peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen rata-rata pretest sebesar 42,59 dan posttest sebesar 81,11 sedangkan pada kelas kontrol rata-rata pretest sebesar 39,63 dan posttest sebesar 59.81. Data ketuntasan hasil belajar peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, berdistribusi normal dan homogen, dengan demikian data dapat ditindaklanjuti dengan uji Anacova yang menunjukkan bahwa Asym.sig(2 sided) 0.000< taraf signifikan 0.05 maka hipotesis nihil (H0) yang menyatakan model Problem Based Learning tidak berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik ditolak, sehingga hipotesis penelitian (Ha) yang menyatakan model Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik diterima. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh penerapan model Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMA Kristen Poli.
