Abstract

The purpose of the Food Service program is to increase public awareness of the problems of Social Welfare Problem Inviters (PMKS). Food quality greatly influences the food service process. This activity aims to meet the nutritional needs of the elderly served by the institution. In the context of traveling abroad, the quality of a food, including taste, aroma, consistency, crispness, appearance, level of maturity, and menu variety, is always related to high food waste and low levels of satisfaction. This study aims to determine the average food waste, level of satisfaction with food quality, and the relationship between food waste and the level of satisfaction with food quality in the food program in Dukuh Menanggal Village. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach, with respondents all elderly recipients of the food program. During data collection, there were 40 elderly respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire using a Likert scale to measure respondent satisfaction with food quality and the Visual Comstock method to measure food quality. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test. The study findings showed that while 19.78% of respondents said they had food waste, 71.32 percent said they were concerned about the quality of the food served. Even when the satisfaction level was quite high, the analysis results showed a significant relationship between food waste and satisfaction level regarding food quality (p = 0.002). This study provides important insights for institutions to improve the efficiency and quality of food programs.

Abstract

Stomata are microscopic structures located on the surface of leaves and function as an entrance for gases such as carbon dioxide (CO₂) and oxygen (O₂), as well as an outlet for water vapor during the transpiration process. The Adam Eve plant (Rhoeo discolor), which is known as an ornamental plant, has stomata characteristics that are interesting to study, especially in the context of adaptation to the environment and climate change. This study aims to explore various aspects of stomata in Rhoeo discolor, including distribution, size, and response of stomata to environmental factors. In this study samples, leaves were taken from several Rhoeo discolor individuals grown under similar conditions in a botanical garden. The analysis method includes measuring the area of the stomata using a digital microscope and image analysis software. In addition, transpiration speed measurements were carried out using a porometer to determine the relationship between the number of stomata and transpiration efficiency. The data obtained was analyzed statistically to identify significant patterns and correlations. The results showed that Rhoeo discolor has varying stomata density depending on the position of the leaf.

Abstract

Hyrilla verticillata, otherwise known as hydrilla, is a submersed aquatic plant that belongs to the Hydrocharitaceae family. This plant is characterized by stems that can grow up to 9 meters and leaves that are arranged in a whorl, 5-20 mm long and 0.7-2 mm wide. The hydrilla leaves have serrated edges and are often equipped with small spines along the midribs. This plant can reproduce vegetatively through fragmentation, as well as through turions and tubers which allow survival in unfavorable environmental conditions. Ecologically, hydrilla plays an important role in nutrient cycles and aquatic habitats, but can also be an invasive species that disrupts local ecosystems. Their rapid growth can reduce dissolved oxygen levels in the water, affecting fish populations and other organisms. In addition, hydrilla can also affect water quality by increasing pH and temperature. Even though it has benefits as a habitat for fish, its negative impact on biodiversity and human activities in waters makes managing this species a challenge for scientists and natural resource managers.

Abstract

Stomata are small pores located in the epidermis of leaves, which function important in gas exchange between plants and the environment. Each stomata is flanked by a pair of guard cells that regulate its opening, allowing the entry of carbon dioxide (CO2) for photosynthesis and the exit of oxygen (O2) and water vapor. Stomata play their role in the processes of photosynthesis, respiration, temperature and humidity regulation. Every plant has stomata, but each plant has a different size and density of stomata. This is caused by environmental factors and plant genetics. There are also different types of stomata in plants, some are anomostic, anisocytic, parastic, diastic and actinocytic. For this reason, further research is needed regarding the analysis of the shape and characteristics of stomata cells in Adam Eve (Rhoe Discolor) plants. The results of the research show that the stomata on Adam Eve have a unique shape like a bean or like a kidney, with varying sizes depending on environmental conditions and different plant genetics. Research also found that the stomata in Adam and Eve have an anomostic type. These findings provide important insight into the shape and role of stomata in the context of the growth of ornamental plants such as Adam's Eve leaves (Rhoe Discolor).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structure of the epidermal cells and stomata in two plant species, namely Allium cepa (onion) and Aglaia odorata (champaca). The methods used in this research include sample preparation, staining, and microscopic observation. The results show that the epidermal cell structure of both species has significant morphological differences. The epidermis of Allium cepa exhibits larger, densely arranged cells with fewer stomata compared to Aglaia odorata, which has smaller epidermal cells and more stomata. These differences can be attributed to the adaptation of both species to their growing environments. This finding provides a better understanding of the morphological adaptations of plants in facing different environmental conditions.

Abstract

Analyzes Amitosis, Mitosis and Meiosis Genetic Materials and DNA Replicas. This research uses qualitative methods and combines empirical data with relevant theory through a descriptive approach. A library study approach is used to collect secondary data from various sources, including books, journals, scientific articles and online media. The findings show 1) Amitosis, as a simple process, is involved in the growth and maintenance of cells in simpler organisms, while mitosis is important for the growth, repair and maintenance of tissues in the body. On the other hand, meiosis is a special process that occurs during sexual reproduction, producing reproductive cells with a haploid set of chromosomes necessary for the union of reproductive cells of different sexes. 2) These differences ensure that organisms can grow, develop, and produce efficiently and accurately. Thus, understanding the mechanisms of DNA replication and cell division processes becomes important in the context of cell biology, genetics, and the evolution of organisms.
