Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, transmitted via droplets from coughing or sneezing. TB mainly affects the lungs but may spread to other organs (Extrapulmonary TB). In the Puskesmas working area, 166 TB cases were recorded. This activity aimed to increase the number of recipients of Tuberculosis Preventive Therapy (TPT) among individuals with close contact history. Problem identification used Blum’s Paradigm, with data collected through a mini survey. Priority issues were determined using the non-scoring Delphi method, and root causes were analyzed via a Fishbone diagram. Evaluation applied the PDCA cycle and systems approach. Lifestyle factors were identified as the main contributor to low TPT coverage. After implementing counseling as an intervention, results showed positive outcomes: 50% of residents and 71% of health cadres experienced improved knowledge. The intervention is considered successful and is expected to enhance TPT coverage sustainably.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises so far can’t be underestimated because even though their businesses are relatively small, they have a tremendous impact on the country. MSMEs have an important role in the Indonesian economy as shown by their contribution of more than 60% to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and absorbing almost 97% of the workforce, and to date the number of MSMEs has reached more than 64 million business units. Although MSMEs have the largest contribution to GDP, it does not automatically increase taxes. One of the problems that occurs is the contribution of tax revenue and the number of taxpayers from MSMEs is still very small. One of the common problems for MSMEs is the inability to prepare financial reports where some have made cash-based records (money in and money out), others have not made any records at all. In addition, another factor that causes MSMEs not to prepare financial reports is the lack of knowledge related to accounting so that they cannot make financial reports. The purpose of this service is to help MSME Aurora Gift to prepare financial reports so that they can be used for decision making.

Abstract

Dyslipidemia is a major public health risk factor for cardiovascular disease. This condition is characterized by abnormal blood lipid levels, including LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. Hypercholesterolemia is often asymptomatic, resulting in many undiagnosed cases until cardiovascular complications occur. The rising prevalence of dyslipidemia, especially in low- and middle-income countries, underscores the importance of screening and prevention to reduce the risk of long-term complications. This community service activity involved 49 adult participants in Danau Sunter, North Jakarta, with cholesterol and HDL level screening conducted through blood tests by trained health workers. The results showed that 29 participants (59.18%) had abnormal cholesterol levels, and 22 participants (44.9%) had low to very low HDL levels. Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, increased physical activity, and controlling other risk factors such as smoking and alcohol consumption, can help lower cholesterol levels. Routine cholesterol screening is highly effective for early detection of dyslipidemia risk, enabling timely preventive interventions to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a highly strategic role in economic development in Indonesia. According to data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, MSMEs contribute more than 60% to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employ nearly 97% of the total workforce. MSMEs also serve as the backbone of the national economy, particularly in creating new jobs and driving the economy in rural areas. Amidst the challenges of globalization and technological development, MSMEs are required to continuously adapt to compete in both domestic and international markets. With this program, it is hoped that MSMEs in Lewomada Village will not only be able to survive the competition but also thrive and become a driving force for the village economy. Furthermore, this program is also expected to encourage Lewomada Village to become a successful example of digital-based MSME development in rural areas. The goal of this activity is to equip participants from each MSME group with knowledge and expertise in marketing management and to provide them with the skills and knowledge to carry out their role as business actors professionally through digital marketing development strategies. MSMEs in Lewomada Village have significant potential for growth through digital marketing. Increased knowledge of social media, marketplaces, and digital marketing strategies provides new opportunities to reach a wider market and increase revenue. However, successful digital marketing implementation still faces challenges such as limited internet infrastructure, technical capabilities, and consistency in implementing digital marketing strategies. With proper management and ongoing support, MSMEs in Lewomada Village can develop and become more competitive in the digital era

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance literacy culture among students through a short story writing workshop conducted at MAN 1 Brebes. The program was initiated in response to the low interest in reading and writing among teenagers. The training was carried out intensively using a project-based learning approach, emphasizing the creative writing process from planning and drafting to revision. Participants were encouraged to choose their own story themes to foster personal and emotional engagement in writing. Evaluation was conducted through pretests and posttests to measure improvement in writing skills. The results showed that 87% of participants experienced an increase in scores, particularly in understanding story structure, diction usage, and conflict development. Each student produced one short story, which was compiled into a digital anthology as the final product of the training. This activity proved effective in fostering literacy interest and improving students' writing abilities, and it is expected to serve as a model for similar training programs in other educational settings.

Abstract

Mental health in productive-age individuals is an important aspect to consider, given that this age group has a high potential for experiencing emotional stress due to work, social, and personal demands. Unfortunately, psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, and stress are often not recognized early because their symptoms are subclinical or hidden. Based on this background, mental health screening and education activities were conducted to support promotive and preventive efforts in maintaining the psychological well-being of productive-age individuals. Screening was conducted using the 42-item version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-42) instrument on 49 participants within the productive age range. After completing the questionnaire, participants received a collective education session delivered through posters. The educational material was tailored to the measurement results and distribution of DASS-42 scores obtained from the participants. The aim of this approach was to raise awareness of each individual's psychological condition and equip participants with knowledge about the early symptoms of common mental disorders. The screening results showed that a proportion of participants experienced mild to severe psychological symptoms, particularly in the anxiety domain. This finding indicates a hidden emotional burden that is not yet recognized by the individuals concerned. Through the delivery of visual education based on population measurement results, participants gained a better understanding of the urgency of early recognition of psychological problems and the importance of maintaining ongoing mental health. This activity demonstrated that visual education, such as posters, can be an effective tool in increasing mental health literacy among those of working age. Furthermore, the data-driven approach provided a more relevant and personalized impact, thus encouraging participant engagement in mental health prevention efforts.

Abstract

Despite the vital role of early disease detection in preventing complications and minimizing healthcare costs, public awareness regarding this issue remains relatively low. Teachers, as influential figures within educational communities, possess great potential to promote health literacy and recognize early signs of health issues among students and peers. This community engagement program aimed to improve teachers’ and school staff’s knowledge and awareness about the importance of early detection through an educational seminar. The activity took place on July 8, 2025, at Mutiara Bangsa 3 School, located in Jelambar, Grogol Petamburan, and was attended by 97 participants, consisting of teachers and staff members. The seminar lasted 75 minutes and featured Dr. dr. Ernawati, SE., MS., Sp.KKLP as the main speaker. The session was delivered interactively using PowerPoint slides, encouraging active participation and discussion. Observations and feedback collected during and after the event showed an increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of early disease detection, routine health screening, and preventive lifestyle practices. Many participants demonstrated a positive shift in attitude by expressing their intention to undergo regular health check-ups and to share the knowledge gained with students and colleagues. This activity highlights the crucial role of educational institutions in promoting health literacy and acting as platforms for public health promotion. By equipping educators with accurate health information, schools can contribute meaningfully to disease prevention efforts and overall community well-being. The seminar not only enhanced individual awareness but also reinforced the promotive and preventive functions of schools as part of a broader sustainable public health strategy.

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is a critical medical emergency with a high mortality rate that requires immediate and appropriate action to increase the chances of survival. One key factor in improving survival outcomes is the involvement of bystanders, particularly young people, in providing Basic Life Support (BLS). This community service activity was carried out to improve the knowledge and practical skills of youth organization members (Karang Taruna) in Kota Bambu Subdistrict, West Jakarta, in recognizing and responding to cardiac arrest using BLS procedures. The activity adopted the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach. The planning stage involved the preparation of materials and training tools for both theoretical and practical learning. The implementation phase included a 45-minute health education session covering the basics of BLS, especially cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), followed by hands-on training. Participants were divided into small groups and guided through practical CPR simulations using manikins, facilitated by six trained nursing students. The activity was conducted on June 14, 2025, and attended by 57 participants, with 27 actively participating in the CPR practice session. The evaluation stage revealed a notable increase in the participants’ understanding and ability to perform CPR effectively. This indicates that community-based BLS training can be a powerful tool in improving emergency response at the grassroots level. In addition to raising awareness, the activity also empowered the youth as first responders in their community, strengthening their role in emergency preparedness and response. The follow-up stage emphasized the importance of sustainability through continued collaboration between local health professionals and community organizations. In conclusion, BLS education and training programs for youth can significantly enhance community resilience and are recommended for broader implementation in other regions.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) activity was carried out by lecturers and students with the aim of increasing public awareness in environmental management through understanding and implementing relevant Regional Regulations (PERDA) that apply in Sepatan Village, namely Tangerang Regency PERDA number 1 of 2023. The main problem faced was the low level of community participation in preserving the environment, caused by a lack of understanding of the regulations and minimal outreach regarding the legal consequences and collective benefits of complying with PERDA. The activity implementation methods included outreach, group discussions, and direct community mentoring. Outreach aimed to provide an understanding of the contents of PERDA on the environment, while group discussions encouraged interaction and the exchange of experiences among residents in implementing these regulations. The mentoring focused on simple practices, such as household waste management, reforestation, and reducing the use of single-use plastics. The results of the activity demonstrated increased public knowledge of environmental laws and a growing collective awareness to play an active role in maintaining environmental cleanliness and sustainability. Furthermore, this activity also fostered a shared commitment to supporting the sustainable implementation of PERDA. Thus, this PKM emphasizes that regional regulations (PERDA) can function as an effective educational and regulatory instrument to build public awareness and participation in environmental management.
