Abstract

This study aims to analyze competency-based human resource (HR) development strategies in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). As the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, pesantren face significant challenges in developing the competencies of educators and administrators amidst demands for modernization, globalization, and digital transformation. Many pesantren, particularly salafiyah pesantren, have not yet implemented systematic and sustainable HR development systems, resulting in teacher and educational staff competencies that do not meet expected standards. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method in several pesantren in Lampung Province. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with pesantren leaders (kyai), administrators, and educators, participatory observation, and documentation of HR development programs. The findings reveal that competency-based HR development strategies in pesantren are implemented through four main pillars: (1) HR planning involving needs analysis and competency mapping; (2) recruitment and selection of educators based on pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competency criteria; (3) competency development through internal training, internships, advanced studies, and collaboration with external parties; and (4) continuous performance evaluation and career development. Supporting factors include visionary kyai leadership, strong pesantren organizational culture, and administrator commitment, while inhibiting factors include limited funding, facilities, information access, and resistance to change. This study concludes that planned, systematic, and sustainable competency-based HR development strategies are key to improving the quality of education in pesantren without neglecting Islamic values and local wisdom.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture on teacher commitment and performance at Madrasah Aliyah Ma'arif NU 5 Sekampung. A strong and conducive organizational culture is believed to be an important factor in increasing teachers' commitment to the institution and encouraging optimal performance. This study employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research population consisted of all 42 teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Ma'arif NU 5 Sekampung, with a saturated sample of 42 respondents. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire with a Likert scale of 1-5 that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS software. The results showed that: (1) organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on teacher commitment; (2) organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance; (3) teacher commitment has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance; and (4) teacher commitment mediates the influence of organizational culture on teacher performance. These findings indicate that a strong organizational culture, which includes shared values, norms, and positive work ethic, can increase teachers' affective, normative, and continuance commitment, which in turn encourages improvement in their performance. This research contributes to the development of Islamic education management in madrasahs, particularly in understanding the mechanism of organizational culture's influence on teacher performance through commitment as a mediating variable

Abstract

Student learning achievement in Indonesian madrasahs still faces significant challenges, as reflected in the results of the Indonesian Madrasah Competency Assessment (AKMI), which indicates the need for improved learning quality across various educational levels. Effective learning management becomes a key factor in optimizing student learning achievement; however, its implementation in madrasahs still encounters various obstacles such as limited resources, varying teacher competencies, and lack of technology integration in learning. This study aims to analyze the implementation of effective learning management and its impact on improving student learning achievement in madrasahs, focusing on planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with madrasah principals, teachers, and students, observation of learning processes, and documentation of learning outcomes in a madrasah in Lampung Province. The findings indicate that effective learning management is implemented through three main stages: learning planning involving student needs analysis and development of contextual learning tools; learning implementation integrating active, innovative, and technology-based methods; and comprehensive and continuous learning evaluation. The integration of student-centered learning approaches, utilization of digital technology, and strengthening of madrasah literacy culture have contributed to significant improvements in student learning achievement. Supporting factors include visionary principal leadership, professional teacher competence, and infrastructure support, while inhibiting factors include budget limitations, low digital literacy, and lack of parental involvement. This study concludes that effective learning management offers a systemic approach to improving student learning achievement in madrasahs through strengthening planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning oriented toward student needs and potential.

Abstract

Love based education is an educational paradigm that emphasizes compassion, empathy, and harmony in social life, with sincerity throughout the entire learning process. This concept emerged as a response to the reality of educational outcomes in the modern era, which prioritize cognitive factors over affective and spiritual ones. This study employs a literature review method focused on exploring theories and concepts found in various sources related to the concept of love based education from an Islamic educational perspective, as well as its urgency in the development and implementation of madrasah curricula. The objective of this study is to analyze the application of love based learning in love based curriculum guidelines for madrasahs and its implications for the character development of students. This serves as an appropriate strategy for integrating the values of love implemented within the madrasah, family and community environments. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method using document analysis techniques to examine curriculum guidelines and other scholarly works related to the research topic. The results indicate that values of love such as compassion, respect for diversity, empathy and social concern are strongly aligned with the principles of Islamic education. Love based education can create a harmonious learning environment, foster intrinsic motivation, and strengthen the relationship between teachers and students. The integration of values of love into a love based curriculum in madrasahs is essential for realizing a holistic, humanistic and character-building education.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of religious education in shaping students' religious character and preventing juvenile delinquency at MTs-SA Miftahul Huda 606 Kalianda. A qualitative case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The findings reveal that the objectives of religious education align with Islamic education goals: nurturing faithful, pious, and morally upright individuals. The implementation process includes daily activities (Dhuha prayer, Qur'anic recitation, tahfidz, congregational Dhuhur/Asr prayers), weekly (Friday charity), monthly (moral guidance), and annual (Islamic holiday commemorations). Supporting factors include the principal's commitment, adequate worship facilities, and student awareness. Inhibiting factors include a lack of Qur'anic experts, external environmental influences, and weak rule enforcement. Outcomes include improved worship discipline, strengthened Qur'anic literacy, positive behavioral changes, and school-parent synergy. Abstract

This study analyzes the practice of recording adopted children as biological children in the civil administration system in Kota Gajah District, Central Lampung Regency, as well as the influencing factors and legal implications for guardianship, inheritance, and child's identity of origin. Using a qualitative empirical juridical (socio-legal) approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited observation, and document analysis, then verified through source triangulation. The findings show that the registration practice did not originate from formal legal procedures but from social caregiving that had been ongoing since the child was an infant, driven by the adoptive family's lack of biological children, the biological family's economic limitations, and considerations of administrative convenience. The research found discrepancies between family narratives and examined documents, as well as the absence of court decisions as a formal basis. Legal implications include potential obscuring of the child's identity of origin and emerging issues in guardianship, inheritance, lineage, and mahram aspects. This study affirms that adoption issues cannot be understood merely as administrative matters but must be read as an intersection of social practice, legal certainty, and child protection within the framework of Islamic family law and positive law.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Tahfidzul Kutub method in memorizing the book Alfiyah Ibnu Malik to improve students’ understanding of Arabic grammar (nahwu) at Darul Muta'alimin Islamic Boarding School, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the head of the boarding school, teachers (ustadz), and students, as well as documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results show that the implementation of the Tahfidzul Kutub method is carried out through systematic stages: talaqqi/bandongan (teacher-led reading), memorization (tikrar), submission (sorogan), review (muroja'ah), and periodic evaluation. This method has proven effective in improving students’ understanding of nahwu, as reflected in their increased ability to memorize verses, read classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning), and analyze sentence structures (i‘rab) up to the analytical level in Bloom’s taxonomy. Supporting factors include a conducive boarding school environment and the competence of the teachers, while inhibiting factors include differences in cognitive abilities and students’ consistency in conducting muroja'ah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of teacher competence and teacher discipline on students' learning achievement in Aqidah Akhlak at MI GUPPI 1 Sukapura, Sragi District, South Lampung Regency. The background of this research is based on the importance of the teacher's role in the learning process, particularly teacher competence and discipline, which can influence students' learning success. This is a quantitative study with a population of all students at MI GUPPI 1 Sukapura. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling with the Slovin formula, yielding 60 respondents from a total population of 71 students. Data collection methods included questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis employed multiple linear regression using SPSS. The results indicate that teacher competence, together with teacher discipline, significantly influences students' Aqidah Akhlak learning achievement. Hypothesis testing revealed a significance value for the simultaneous influence of teacher competence and discipline on student achievement with Fcount (28.831) > Ftable (4.46). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.892 indicates that 89.2% of the variation in student learning achievement can be explained by teacher competence and discipline, while 10.8% is explained by other factors. This research confirms that enhancing teacher competence and discipline is a key factor in improving student learning achievement in Aqidah Akhlak.
