Abstract

Scarlet fever or dengue fever is an infectious disease in the tropics area that is caused by the dengue virus and transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito One of the plants which can be utilized as natural larvicide is papaya seeds (Carica papaya L). The wet and dry papaya seeds are used in this research. The papaya seeds contain toxic compounds, they are alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. These compounds can inhibit the growth of Aedes aegypti larvae. This research is quasi-experimental. It aims to find out the effectiveness of the dry and wet papaya (Carica Papaya L) seed solvents with doses of 20 ml / Litre, 30 ml / Litre, 40 ml / Litre 50 ml / Litre, and 60 ml / Litre. The control was exposed to 20 Aedes aegypti larvae at each dose with observations every 60 minutes for 24 hours with the time intervals, the replication was carried out three times. The result shows that the mortality rate of Aedes aegypti larvae in the solvents of dry papaya seeds is the control no one dies (0%) doses of 20 ml can turn off (95%), 30 ml can turn off (100%), 40 ml can turn off (100%), 50 ml can turn off (100%), 60 ml can turn off (100%), , meanwhile, the solvents of wet papaya seeds are the control no one dies (0%) doses of 20 ml can turn off (100%), 30 ml can turn off (100%), 40 ml can turn off (100%), 50 ml can turn off (100%), 60 ml can turn off (100%). In a conclusion, a dose of 20 ml is the most effective dose as a liquid to kill Aedes aegypti larvae. Sugestions for the public to use wet papaya seeds as larvicide and for future researchers to use a dip bag and the dose used can be lowered by using wet papaya seeds. Abstract

Cocoa peel waste is a byproduct of cocoa fruit processing that is quite abundant and has not been optimally utilized. Therefore, an action is needed that can utilize cocoa shell waste into something useful, one of which is made into organic fertilizer so that it can overcome the problem that has been one of the causes of environmental pollution in the plantation area. This study aims to determine the utilization of cocoa shell waste as organic fertilizer. The type of research used in this study is a quasi-experiment with the aim of knowing the length of composting time and the quality of the C/N Ratio. The results showed that the utilization of cocoa shell waste with the addition of leachate activator at a dose of 200 ml occurred for 18 days with a C/N Ratio value of 11, the addition of leachate activator at a dose of 250 ml occurred for 16 days with a C/N Ratio value of 13, the addition of leachate activator at a dose of 300 ml occurred for 14 days with a C/N Ratio value of 12 and without the addition of activator occurred for 28 days with a C/N Ratio value of 15. This shows that the addition of leachate activator is able to accelerate the composting process compared to without using leachate activator. The conclusion of this research is that the utilization of cocoa shell waste with the addition of leachate water activator with doses of 200 ml, 250 ml and 300 ml on the length of composting time and C/N Ratio value meets the requirements or quality standards set by SNI 19-7030-2004.  Keywords : Organic Fertilizer, Cocoa Shell Waste, Cow Manure, Bran, Leachate Water

Abstract

Good quality health care is seen as the patient's right and is the responsibility of hospital personnel (Zineldin, 2006). The quality of service created by agencies or hospitals aims not only to increase patient satisfaction, but also to improve hospital standards and employee performance as well. Of course, it is not only oriented towards material commitment but is also carried out through practice as part of the value of worship (Yunus, 2012). To determine the relationship between the implementation of Islamic Health Services at RSI Cempaka Putih and Patient Satisfaction. This study is a quantitative research with a cross sectional method. Respondents filled out a questionnaire which was circulated through the inpatient manager which was then forwarded to the inpatient room, especially the post-surgical patient room. The data obtained was tested using the Spearman statistical test to see the correlation between variables and patient satisfaction. The sample of post-surgical inpatients consisted of 88 respondents. It was found that 54% of patients had high expectations for Islamic services. However, in reality, the majority of satisfaction figures for Islamic services are rated as quite satisfied, 73% and 25% satisfied. The results of the Spearman correlation test show that the implementation of sharia mandatory quality services at RSI Cempaka Putih on the satisfaction of post-surgical inpatients has a weak relationship but is not statistically significant. However, based on the results of the analysis of each question, a significant relationship was found between patient satisfaction and mandatory quality services, namely for the variable wearing a hijab for breastfeeding mothers. Meanwhile, in general, the implementation of minimum sharia services has an insignificant relationship with the satisfaction of post-surgical inpatients at RSI Cempaka Putih. Respondent satisfaction figures cannot be separated from the hospital's commitment to implementing Islamic services according to standards. The consistency of the implementation of Islamic services can be seen from how Islamic concepts are included in planning and actualization, there are verbal and written policies implemented by the hospital. Sharia/Islamic concepts must be present in the planning, both in the strategic plan (strategic plan) which is not limited to a vision and mission but is also actualized in 4 things, namely: balanced human resources, adequate budget, infrastructure mechanisms and clear authority. As a hospital that applies Syaria standard, it is also necessary to pay attention to aspects of environmental cleanliness and health.

Abstract

The problem of waste at the Tamangapa Raya Landfill is still a problem in Makassar city. Waste disposal access at the landfill has exceeded capacity because the production of waste generated by the community continues to grow and results in limited access for transport vehicles and becomes an obstacle when entering the landfill so that there is a buildup of garbage trucks along the entrance to the landfill. Scavengers are one of the workers at the landfill who help reduce waste by taking unused items made of plastic, cardboard, and iron that can be sold and recycled again. The purpose of this study to identify the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Occupational Accidents to scavengers at Tamangapa Raya Landfill. This type of research conducted was descriptive. The sample in this study amounted to 91 waste pickers. Data obtained by observation and interview methods by filling out questionnaires. The results showed that there were 76 waste pickers (83.51%) used helmet/hat, 37 people (40.65%) used mask, 69 people (75.82%) used work clothes, 53 people (58.24%) used gloves and 81 people (89.01%) used boots. Meanwhile, 63 waste pickers (69.23%) fell, 32 people (35.16%) bumped, 36 people (39.56%) slipped, 75 people (82.41%) were punctured, 49 people (53.84%) were sprained, 24 people (26.37%) were crushed, 73 people (80.21%) were pinched, 17 people (18.68%) and 67 people (73.62%) were tripped. The advice for scavengers at Tamangapa Raya Landfill should pay more attention to the completeness of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as helmets/hats, masks, gloves, work clothes and boots to minimize risks and prevent occupational accidents.  Keywords : Scavengers; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Occupational Accidents Work; Landfill

Abstract

Soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infection is a disease caused by lack of clean and healthy living habits implementation. School-aged children contribute the highest prevalence rate to STH infections. The highest area of STH cases in Makassar is at Pampang Health Center working area. This research aims to describe the knowledge, attitudes and actions of Pampang State Elementary School students regarding the implementation of clean and healthy living habits. The type of research was descriptive observational using questionnaires. Respondents are 130 students from grade 5 and grade 6 at Pampang State Elementary School. An overview of students' STH infection conditions was obtained through a sample test by taking 5 fecal samples among respondents using simple random sampling. Samples examined microscopically to see the presence of worm eggs in the feces. The research results showed that 122 students (93.84%) had a high level of knowledge regarding clean and healthy living habits. There were 102 students (78.47%) who had good attitudes towards PHBS and 124 students’ actions were good (95.39%). The results of fecal samples examination showed that 4 samples were positively infected by Ascaries lumbricoides. Even though students already have good knowledge, attitudes and actions regarding clean and healthy living habits, this doesn’t mean they are free from STH infection. It is recommended that school and community health center monitor the students’ clean and healthy living habits implementation.  Key words: Soil-transmitted helminth infection; clean and healthy living habits; school-aged children
