Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Abstract

In mathematics learning, students not only need to understand the concept, but also master mathematical problem-solving skills. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the STAD cooperative learning model on students' problem-solving skills and describe the quality of the variables studied, namely the application of STAD and the mathematical problem-solving skills of students at SMP Negeri 1 Labuhan Deli. The subject of the study was the STAD model, and the object was problem-solving skills. The sample consisted of 26 students of grades VII-3. The research instruments were in the form of observation questionnaires of the learning process and problem-solving skills tests that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data were analyzed to assess the effectiveness of the learning process and the improvement of students' abilities. The results showed effective learning with an average completion rate of 75%, and there was an increase in problem-solving skills based on a comparison of pretest and posttest scores.

Abstract

The Right to Cultivate (HGU) over state land, particularly in forest areas, has become a major polemic in natural resource management in Indonesia. Since the reformation, the granting of HGU for oil palm plantations has grown rapidly; according to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) (2024), the HGU area reached 9.26 million hectares, with 795,000 hectares located in forest areas. HGU is regulated in Articles 21 and 23 of the 1960 UUPA and can only be issued after the forest area has been officially designated and/or released by the Minister of KLHK. However, Constitutional Court Decision No. 45/PUU-IX/2011 stated that the designation of forest areas is invalid without legal certainty, confirmed boundaries, and public involvement. Agrarian conflicts often arise due to inconsistencies between the Agrarian and Forestry Laws. This study analyzes the legal certainty in the granting and revocation of HGU in forest areas. Using a normative juridical approach and case studies, it was found that HGU certificates are valid until officially revoked or through a final court decision. HGU can only be issued after the release of forest areas; Otherwise, the HGU will be null and void by law and may be subject to criminal sanctions in accordance with Law 18/2013.

Abstract

Wastra Nusantara memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan dalam industri fashion, baik di tingkat nasional maupun global. Dalam konteks pendidikan vokasi tata busana, pemanfaatan wastra lokal masih sering terbatas pada aspek teknis dan belum sepenuhnya mengadopsi pendekatan inovatif yang berorientasi pada pasar. Studi ini menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif terhadap literatur yang relevan serta dokumen tugas akhir mahasiswa Program Studi Sarjana Terapan Desain Mode, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, untuk mengevaluasi potensi komersialisasi karya yang menggunakan wastra lokal. Pendekatan design thinking diterapkan sebagai kerangka analisis dalam mengkaji proses pengembangan produk yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa desain mode. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa design thinking berperan penting dalam membuka peluang inovasi melalui pemahaman nilai budaya, penguatan empati terhadap pengguna, serta penyesuaian rancangan dengan kebutuhan pasar. Karya mahasiswa Program Studi Desain Mode menunjukkan potensi untuk ditransformasikan menjadi produk fashion siap jual, seperti busana kerja bermotif etnik, modest wear kontemporer, hingga produk fashion berkelanjutan. Kajian ini menegaskan bahwa design thinking dapat menjadi jembatan antara pelestarian budaya dan pengembangan produk kreatif, sekaligus memperkuat kontribusi pendidikan vokasi tata busana dalam mendukung hilirisasi industri kreatif. Rekomendasi mencakup penguatan kurikulum, pengembangan jejaring dengan UMKM, serta kolaborasi bersama pelaku industri wastra untuk mendorong komersialisasi yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Geopolitical rivalry between the U.S. and China in Southeast Asia significantly impacts regional stability and Indonesia’s strategic interests. This study analyzes Indonesia’s strategic national security capacity in responding to the rivalry using four geopolitical dimensions: military, diplomacy, economy, and technology. Based on a literature review of indexed academic sources, the findings reveal that Indonesia adopts a hedging strategy—balancing interests between both powers while maintaining foreign policy autonomy. Its strategic geographical position, including the Malacca Strait and North Natuna Sea, makes Indonesia a key actor in regional stability. However, internal challenges persist, such as defense capability gaps, suboptimal defense diplomacy, and foreign influence vulnerabilities. The study recommends strengthening regional diplomacy, modernizing defense systems, and enhancing maritime resilience. Economically, engagement in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and strategic technology partnerships with Western countries improve Indonesia’s global leverage. Ultimately, Indonesia’s success in maintaining national security lies in its ability to integrate internal and external strengths adaptively without falling into strategic dependency. These findings have important implications for future defense, foreign policy, economic development, and cybersecurity strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of playing Mobile Legends games, communication patterns, and stress management on teamwork among teenagers in Karang Taruna Terban Yogyakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method or saturated sampling, where primary data is collected through questionnaires from 50 teenagers in Karang Taruna Terban Yogyakarta. Data analysis was carried out by validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression, Z test, F test, and coefficient of determination test using the help of SPSS 26. Overall, this study concluded that playing Mobile Legends Game, communication patterns, and stress management have a positive and significant influence on teamwork among teenagers of Karang Taruna Terban Yogyakarta. This emphasizes the importance of these three factors in shaping the dynamics of effective teamwork in a youth environment.

Abstract

Smartphone addiction among adolescents can have negative impacts on their mental and social health. This study aims to examine the relationship between anxiety levels and smartphone addiction among adolescents at SMP Negeri 27 Palembang. This research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive survey approach and a cross-sectional design. The study sample consists of 288 respondents selected using a simple random sampling technique. The instruments used include the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) to measure anxiety levels and the Smartphone Addiction Scale – Short Version (SAS-SV) to assess smartphone addiction. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test. The results indicate a significant relationship between anxiety levels and smartphone addiction among adolescents at SMP Negeri 27 Palembang, with a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Based on these findings, educational efforts and interventions are necessary to reduce smartphone addiction and prevent its negative effects on adolescents' mental health.

Abstract

The Sedekah Bumi tradition is a form of local wisdom developed in various regions of Indonesia to express gratitude for the abundance of the earth's produce and life. This community service activity was carried out in RW 2, Prada Kalikendal, Surabaya, to explore, document, and support the preservation of the Earth Alms tradition. The methods used included field observation, interviews with community leaders, and participatory documentation. The results of the activity indicate that the sedekah bumi tradition in this region contains strong spiritual and cultural values as a means to strengthen social relations between generations. These findings emphasize the importance of preserving local wisdom amidst modernization and changes in urban lifestyles. The conclusion of this activity emphasizes that collaboration between the community and academics plays a crucial role in maintaining the sustainability of cultural traditions contextually and adaptively to changing times.

Abstract

This educational hajj workshop for children aims to instill an early understanding of the pillars and meaning of the hajj pilgrimage among students at SD Al Azhar 7 Sukabumi through the experiential learning approach. This method was chosen because it involves direct experiences, reflection, and active student participation in the learning process. The workshop activities included hajj simulations, educational games, interactive discussions, and reflective assignments. The results showed an improvement in students' cognitive understanding of the hajj rituals, as well as the development of spiritual awareness about its values. The experiential learning approach proved effective in helping children grasp abstract religious concepts in a concrete and meaningful way. This workshop also contributed to instilling Islamic character values such as patience, discipline, and togetherness from an early age. It is recommended as an engaging and applicable model of religious education for elementary schools.

Abstract

Traditional jamu is a cultural heritage long consumed by Indonesians to maintain health. However, modernization and lifestyle shifts have caused the popularity of jamu to decline, especially among younger generations. This research aims to design effective visual communication to educate the public, particularly youth in Yogyakarta, on the importance of traditional jamu. Utilizing design thinking, semiotics, myth, and visual communication theories, the design process involved research, analysis, and visualization through social media and creative products like tote bags, t-shirts, and notebooks. The result indicates that the designed visual media successfully captured the audience’s interest, educated them culturally, and raised awareness on preserving traditional jamu. The study concludes that visual communication is an effective strategy for preserving local wisdom.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital memberikan peluang besar bagi usaha rumahan untuk memperluas jangkauan pasarnya secara lebih efektif. Namun, banyak pelaku usaha rumahan yang dikelola oleh ibu rumah tangga masih menghadapi kendala dalam hal literasi digital dan keterampilan promosi secara daring. pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya saing usaha rumahan melalui pelatihan promosi digital yang ditujukan khusus bagi ibu rumah tangga di Kecamatan Medan Tembung. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dengan tahapan identifikasi kebutuhan, penyusunan modul pelatihan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, dan evaluasi dampak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terhadap strategi promosi digital, dengan peningkatan skor post-test sebesar 65%. Sebanyak 23 peserta berhasil membuat akun bisnis di Instagram dan WhatsApp Business, serta mempraktikkan pembuatan konten promosi yang menarik. Meskipun terdapat kendala teknis seperti keterbatasan perangkat dan pengetahuan teknologi, pendekatan berbasis kelompok dan praktik langsung terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan peserta. Pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan pendekatan yang tepat, ibu rumah tangga mampu mengadopsi teknologi digital untuk meningkatkan pemasaran usaha mereka.
