Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Jurnal JERKIN: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is under the auspices of the Faculty of Education, Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. The journal is registered with E-ISSN: 2961-9890. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is published four times a year in September, December, March and June. Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan receives 50 articles per issue. Abstract

The rapid development of technology, if we don't follow it, it will make us left behind in facing the times, especially in the field of education. For this reason, it is necessary to socialize to students at the Orphanage, how to use the internet wisely. The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) is outreach to provide increased knowledge about the impact and influence of using the internet for students. This activity was carried out at the Aisyiyah Putra Orphanage in Nanggalo District, Padang City. The method used in carrying out this activity is the lecture method and the question and answer method and quizzes. The material provided is in the form of socialization on how to use the internet wisely by knowing its positive and negative impacts and their influence on students. The result of this PKM activity is an increase in technological knowledge for students about the impact and influence of the internet for students, both the positive and negative impacts on students.

Abstract

After more than two years of living in difficult circumstances, the children managed to go to school. In the new era, they need to adapt and overcome the 'losses' they gain. This review of literature provides children conditions during outbreaks and how parental roles enable children to bounce right back from adversity. More specifically, this review will examine parental factors that contribute to resilience in their children. The literature also has documented child maltreatment during changing in the learning system that happened to children.

Abstract

This research is motived by the problems faced by students because student have difficults in reading comprehension the narrative text, such as difficulties to finds detail, translating new words, finding main ideas and making inferences. The purpose of this study is to determine the students’ reading comprehension difficulties in Narrative text. This study use a qualitative research design. The sample of this research is Tenth grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah Bangkinang. In the study, the research use questionnaire as an instrument of collecting data. In analysis of data, the reseach steps are coding, data reduction, data display and conclusion. Based on the result of research through questionnaire, most of the student chose “Strongly Agree” with the statement that they haad difficulty in learning to read. It can be conclude that the result are students difficult to understanding long sentence and text because lack of vocabulary, grammar and remember, difficult to understand the reading text before knowing the topic and background, students read slowly and carefully, reread ,summarize in they own word, translate English into their native language, to understand the text and difficulty in concentration

Abstract

The aim of this research is to produce Higher Order Thinking Skills of mathematics questions with has good validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Researchers use a research and development design with the ADDIE model. This research is in SMP Negeri 37 Pekanbaru. The research subjects were 36 students in class IX 5 for junior high school students. The techniques data collection used were test with mathematics questions instrument and non-test techniques with validation sheets and practicality sheets instruments. The results showed that the higher Order Thinking Skills of mathematics questions was included in the very valid category with an average score = 4.57. HOTS mathematics questions are also included in the very practical category with an average score = 4.01. Furthermore, the HOTS mathematics questions included the effective category based on the calculation of the value  and , which means that the proportion of students who have achieved KKM is more than 74.99%

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which the use of patterns and formula method books to improve student learning outcomes of class X Religion MAN 3 Pekanbaru on the topic of polar qiroatul. This research uses action research research method. The population of this study were 24 students of class X Religion with a sample of all students. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. In cycle 1, the pattern and formula method book had not been used, so it was seen that the student learning outcomes were unsatisfactory. Then in cycle 2. the pattern and formula method book was used. It was seen that there was an increase in student learning outcomes, namely as many as 24 students were able to solve the questions correctly and get scores above the KKM. Then the implementation of learning in cycle 2, the steps and planning carried out were the same as cycle 1. The results obtained in cycle 2 were 24 students who were able to complete questions about qiroatul poles and obtained scores above the KKM. From the results of the above research it can be concluded that learning by using pattern and formula method books can improve student learning outcomes in class X Religion. For this reason, it is hoped that the teacher will be able to carry out learning with various models that are in accordance with the characteristics of the learning material.

Abstract

One of the important tools that must be owned and mastered by teachers in the successful implementation of the Independent Curriculum is an understanding of the important elements in the Independent Learning Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum dissemination activity is part of the training activities for the implementation of the Independent Curriculum and the Learning Process in the Classroom, which is the result of a collaboration between Patompo University and SMK Madani Makassar. The implementation of the activity was carried out in the Makassar Madani Vocational School Hall on November 24 2022. The dissemination was carried out face to face with the target of class teachers at Madani Makassar Vocational School. The purpose of the dissemination is so that teachers are ready to use the Independent Curriculum with independent learning options. The implementation of the dissemination includes exposure to the components of the Independent Learning Curriculum, learning style quiz tests and reflection on the results of the learning style quiz tests so that the readiness of the Madani Vocational School Teachers in Makassar can be known.

Abstract

The purpose of this bibliometric analysis to see opportunities and developments in research trends related to critical thinking mathematics ability based on VOS Viewer-based problem solving. The method used is bibliometrics by collecting article data from 2015-2021 through the Google Scholar site with Publish or Perish software for 1,000 journals. The results showed that the most publications in 2015 were 265. Variables related to critical thinking mathematics ability that have opportunities and novelties to be researched in the future are the flipped classroom, high order thinking skills and math anxiety variables.

Abstract

Finding students in Merauke who still do not understand the basic English, starting from elementary to university students is common. Considering the urgency of mastering English nowadays, the introduction of English recommended form the early age. The preliminary observation at an elementary school revealed that many students were unfamiliar with English. This is the background for the author to conduct this community service, namely the introducing the basics English to students of elementary schools in Merauke. This activity involved two class of grade 4 and 2 teachers in one of elementary schools in Merauke. The stages in this activity, carrying out interview for teachers, observation, pre-test, teaching, post-test and interview for students. From the results it was found that students had a positive attitude in learning English, such as being active, enthusiastic and interested in learning English during the learning process and be able to understand the material well. No human resources capable of teaching English is the challenge faced by the school.

Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the basic skills that must be possessed in mastering English. However, this speaking skill is challenging, considering English is a foreign language in Indonesia. Many factors ultimately become the cause of students' speaking skills needing to be improved. At the elementary school level, the researcher observed that students' speaking skills needed to be enhanced due to the lack of variety of activities provided and the lack of space for students to explore their speaking skills. This is what underlies the researchers to conduct activities to improve the speaking skills of elementary school-level students in Merauke. This activity involves teachers and students in grade 5 elementary school. The action begins with conducting interviews and preliminary observations of teachers and students, administering a pre-test to determine students' initial abilities, teaching to improve students' speaking skills, and conducting a post-test to measure the achievement of activity objectives. From these activities, the results showed that students experienced an increase in both self-confidence and speaking skills.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools requires real examples in everyday life in order to facilitate the construction of students' thinking at the level of concrete operational cognitive development. This requires a skill needed by teachers in designing science learning to be contextual. Examples of concepts that are far away and difficult to find by students in the surrounding environment, causing students to lack interest in learning science. Meanwhile, teachers feel less confident in presenting examples of science concepts that are appropriate to their respective regions because they are not contained in the guidebooks used in learning in class. This service aims to provide scientific literacy (IPA) training to teachers at UPT SDN 209 Gresik so that the science learning process is in accordance with the surrounding environment and has a positive effect on scientific literacy and scientific thinking skills of teachers. The service program is carried out through workshops for teachers. The results of this service are in the form of examples of science concepts related to the daily life of the Slempit community related to the context of science (IPA) and drafts of scientific articles for elementary school teachers
