Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Riset Pendidikan is a journal on Faculty of Education. Abstract

This research is entitled "Improving Student Discipline through Individual Guidance and Counseling Services for Eighth Grade Students." The research subjects are students from class VIII A at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Karangpandan during the academic year 2022/2023. The objectives of this study are: (1) To determine the discipline condition of the seventh-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Karangpandan before receiving individual guidance and counseling services, (2) To understand how the method of individual guidance and counseling services can improve the discipline of the eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Karangpandan, and (3) To identify the results of the improvement in discipline of the eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Karangpandan after receiving individual guidance and counseling services. Based on the desired aspects, the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method is employed in this study because it is generally suitable for improving the quality of the research subject. According to the research findings, it was observed that individual guidance and counseling services can enhance student discipline in their learning process.

Abstract

Having the ability to write in English has started to become a necessity as a form of active reaction to the development of global communication where English is the official means of international communicaation. It is a huge challenge for students, especially in Indonesia. Of the four language skills, writing has its own challenges and is still considered the most difficult skill to master by most Indonesian students. The quality of a writing is assessed by four indicators, development of ideas, vocabulary choices, and the proper use of grammar and punctuation. These four variables must then be presented in a writing structure appropriate to the genre. The present research is part of a community service activity where the research target is students at an elementary school in Merauke City. There are several stages in the activity, observation, teaching, and post-test. Preliminary observations showed students' weak writing skills which later became the main consideration in preparing teaching materials. The writing learning method using procedural text is selected on the basis of the suitability of students' interests and abilities. The results of the post-test found that more than half of the total number of students showed an increase in writing ability with procedure text and most errors are found in the use of grammar

Abstract

Epok-Epok Ana is one of the well-known epok-epok businesses in Batam City, especially in the bengkong area. Selling epoks that taste good and at affordable prices is one way to reach lower-class customers. Even though they accept orders by phone, Epok-Epok Ana still requires customers to make their own purchases because delivery services are not yet offered. This paper aims to analyze the effectiveness of the sustainability of Epok-Epok Ana's MSME business activities. The method used in collecting information is through interviews and data processing and analysis methods are displayed descriptively and quantitatively. The results of this paper include a business analysis that identifies MSME combining resources, six basic rights of existing and suggested consumers for MSMEs, Epok-Epok Ana's marketing strategy through social media, and key motivation analysis to produce recommendations that can improve product and service quality. at Epok-Epok Ana Batam

Abstract

Intellectual Property is a right that arises from the results of thought that produce a product or process that is useful for humans. One form of Intellectual Property is Trade Secret. Trade Secrets are recognized and protected under Law No. 30 of 2000 concerning Trade Secrets. The purpose of this study is to determine the legal certainty of conducting closed hearings against trade secret violations in the UURD and its comparison with regulations of other countries, as well as determining the legal actions that should be taken by the owner of a trade secret in facing court proceedings to protect trade secrets in relation to the UURD and its comparison with other countries. This study uses a normative juridical method with descriptive analytical research specifications. The comparison method used is the method of comparison of legal instruments, especially comparison of legislation. Data collection techniques used in this study were literature studies and interviews. Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that the provisions in Article 18 of the Trade Secret Law do not provide legal certainty regarding how trade secrets can be protected in the trial process. The condition in which both parties must request to close the trial is not in line with the Judge's obligation to protect Trade Secrets. The legal remedy that can be taken by the Trade Secret Owner is to request that the trial of the Trade Secret case be held behind closed doors. This application is made not because of the conditions contained in Article 18 UURD, but based on the obligation of the Trade Secret Owner to make all proper efforts to safeguard the Trade Secret. An application to close the trial should not be rejected by the Judge, because refusal is a violation of the Owner's right to maintain a Trade Secret.

Abstract

Efforts made in preparing quality students, especially in developing technological science, understand in advance the challenges faced in the use of technology used today. Knowledge of the real challenges for educators in choosing the best technological tools, so that educators do not lose their teaching goals, and do not misunderstand students. This activity is proof of the seriousness of the Jabal Nur SPN Padang Besi Teenagers in realizing their commitment to quality Youth. Therefore this PkM teaches students to understand the challenges of using technology in the 4.0 era. This activity needs a modules related to the challenges of using technology in the 4.0 era, and enrichment from quizzes online adapted to the PkM material. The activity phase that has been carried out in this community service activity is to provide integrated training so that teenagers at the Jabal Nur SPN Padang Besi Mosque can understand, understand and prepare and improve quality in the challenges of using technology in Era 4.0. The results of this service students take tests and find out the results of tests carried out through quizzes online. The next plan is to assign tasks and evaluate the tasks that have been given by the implementing team

Abstract

The development of information system technology is growing rapidly so that it has an impact on trends that have emerged from the industrial revolution 4.0 and society 5.0. Higher education, one of which is an organization that contributes to educational activities in Indonesia, must be able to adapt to a number of emerging trends, including the trend of Society 5.0. Education which has also penetrated into the Jabal Nur Mosque environment in Padang City SPN needs to understand the roles and strategies that need to be assisted by the Higher Education in dealing with the era of society 5.0, by providing studies on the concepts and processes of society 5.0. From the results of observations and activities, it is obtained strategies that can be implemented by tertiary institutions, especially by increasing productivity through good cooperation between academics and mosque environmental parties to be able to support the role of information technology development through information technology management skills training for participants who are students within the Jabal Mosque environment Nur Padang City

Abstract

Model Eliciting Activities (MEA) is an activity to create or build models and modeling perspectives for mathematical connections in mathematics education. This study aims to determine research trends from generating activities to mathematical connection abilities and to see opportunities for future research based on VOSviewer. This study used bibliometric analysis, the data in this study were obtained through Google Scholar using publish or perish from 2013 to 2023 with the keyword eliciting activities. It was found that the research trend of eliciting activities on mathematical connection abilities in Full Counting Density Visualization contained 54 terms related to mathematical connection abilities. The density display model shows that the most research related to eliciting activities is eliciting open-ended activities, learning outcomes, hots and cognitive styles which are marked in bright yellow. The brighter the yellow color, the more research has been done. While the research that is still small is the ability of mathematical connections, problem solving abilities and critical thinking which are marked with dim colors. Thus, the opportunity to carry out the latest research to retrieve these items can be done because they are rarely studied.

Abstract

Error Analysis is a technique to identify, classify and interpret systematically the mistakes made by students who are learning to find out the circumstances, causes and various other aspects that are in it. This study analyzes the types of errors made by students in working on mathematics story problems based on Watson's criteria in class IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota. The purpose of this study was to see if there was a significant comparison of the results of the 9th grade Mathematics daily test. Before conducting the ANOVA test, first the data normalization test is carried out, then the homogeneity test and then conduct the ANOVA test. The ANOVA test used in this study is a one-way ANOVA test. After testing the data on the results of the daily test scores of Mathematics class IX SMP Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota, the data obtained from the daily test scores of class IX B, class IX I, class IX J which means that the average daily test scores of the five classes do not have significant differences. In other words, the average daily test scores of class IX B, class IX I, class IX H are the same. There is data on the daily test scores of class IX I, class IX H, class IX F which means that the average daily test scores of the three classes are the same.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a quality validation instrument for use in ethnomathematics exploration in the Making of Lomang (Lemang) in Kampar Regency, Riau. The research subjects consisted of 3 expert validators who had expertise in their fields. This study uses validity instruments. Research data were collected through observation sheets and interviews. Based on the results of the assessment of the interview sheet using the validation instrument, it can be concluded that the assessment sheet is in a very valid category. Therefore, the interview sheet has been deemed suitable and can be used to obtain assessment data and information related to research needs.
