Abstract

The communication pattern plays a crucial role in building healthy relationships, supporting child development, addressing digital challenges, building trust, and improving the quality of family life. Effective communication patterns are also a form of parental responsibility towards their children, as parents play a significant role in shaping their children's personalities, attitudes, and behaviors. In implementing good communication patterns, parents must consider the needs and development of their children and provide appropriate attention, affection, and support. The focus of this research is to identify the issues concerning the communication patterns of parents towards their children in the digital era in Pulungan Village. In this study, the author used a qualitative method to obtain descriptive data, which consists of written words and verbal expressions from the informants. To collect data, the author used a triangulation technique with an interpersonal communication approach. The interpersonal communication approach involves direct interaction between the researcher and the informants, which can be done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants in this study were the secretary of Pulungan Village and parents in Pulungan Village, Sedati Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency. Once the data were collected, the author used data analysis techniques, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the role of parental communication patterns in the digital era applied by several families in Pulungan Village, Sedati Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency can be categorized into two main parenting patterns: pluralistic communication patterns and protective communication patterns.

Abstract

The act of deviant lesbian sexual orientation is done as each individual thinks. It is done consciously when choosing a same-sex partner. Lesbian is a deviation of sexual orientation committed by women, thus choosing to partner with the same sex. There are still many who do not know the causes of lesbians choosing to deviate. This research aims to find out and explain lesbians occur due to intrapersonal communication in Surabaya City. This research uses descriptive analysis. Using qualitative methods with cognitive dissonance theory. The informants in this study amounted to three people, among whom had different causes. This research uses interview techniques as data collection. So that the results of the study were obtained, namely four intrapersonal communication processes in the three lesbians who were felt when the informants had reasons and causes, namely sensation, perception, memory, thinking.

Abstract

The background to this research will focus on discussing marketing communication strategies using outdoor media in the development of the digital era, especially in property marketing communication strategies using outdoor media as promotional media. In this digital era, many people use social media to market the products or goods they want to sell, but CV. A&A real estate continues to use billboards which are still considered more effective than social media, CV. A&A real estate also uses social media to market the properties it owns but is considered less effective. CV. A&A Real Estate uses outdoor media promotions as an effective strategy to increase visibility and reach a wider market. outdoor media that is large, attracts attention, and is placed in strategic locations that are busy with traffic or visited by many people. This promotional media offers the advantage of conveying information about the property visually and strikingly. The use of outdoor media provides many benefits for CVs. A&A Real Estate, especially in the context of a property market where the majority of potential buyers are adults, who may not be too fixated on the use of social media. In this case, outdoor media is a more suitable medium because it can reach a different and wider target audience. This research will discuss the implementation of marketing communication strategies using outdoor media used by CV.A&A real estate so that it can provide benefits or solve problems in building and competing for real estate in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how journalistic convergence occurs through the use of OSINT in the news production process at Narasi TV. This research uses the theories of investigative journalism and journalistic convergence. Investigative journalism theory explains journalistic practices that uncover the truth in an important case. Journalistic convergence theory explains how journalists work multitasking. The researcher also used Robert K. Yin's case study research method which is based on the main questions about 'Why, and 'How' OSINT can be used in Narasi TV investigative journalism practice. The research results found that Narasi TV carried out digital investigations using OSINT and carried out newsgathering convergence. In the process of verifying and accuracy of data obtained through the OSINT method, Narasi TV carries out verification directly in the field so that the data obtained is valid.

Abstract

Local television is mass media that provides information in the form of regional cultural values and current issues that are not covered by national television. As a mass media, local television is also experiencing development with media convergence through the use of the internet and digitalization. One of the local television stations that has developed with this media convergence is Jurnal TV. This research aims to determine Jurnal TV's strategy as the first local satellite television in Central Kalimantan Province in the era of media convergence. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach with data obtained through interviews. Interviews were conducted with several informants who were internal to Jurnal TV. The interviews were analyzed qualitatively. The results explain that the strategies carried out by Jurnal TV can be classified into three, namely capital strategies by collaborating with regional beautification and provincial governments and the private sector as media partners and supported by program offers and advertising broadcasts for revenue. The next strategy is releasing Android and iOS-based applications to facilitate public access which is strengthened by the local characteristics of Jurnal TV. The final strategy is determining the target audience by classifying programs based on the age of the audience and involving the active role of the community to be involved in making the program.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the motives that drive individuals to access the Threads social media platform among students in Surabaya City. The population of this study is 273,229, with a sample size of 100 respondents. The theoretical framework employed is the Uses and Gratification theory. The research methodology is quantitative descriptive research using a non-probability sampling technique with purposive random sampling. The data analysis technique involves univariate analysis, which includes simple tabulation of the questionnaire results filled out by the respondents. The obtained data are presented in the form of frequency distribution tables. In this study, the theory of media usage motives proposed by Papacharissi and Rubin is applied, encompassing Interpersonal Utility, Pass Time, Seeking Information, Entertainment, and Convenience motives. The findings reveal that Interpersonal Utility has an average score of 3.03, Pass Time has an average score of 3.34, Seeking Information has a score of 2.92, Entertainment has a score of 3.23, and Convenience has a score of 3.18.

Abstract

Coffee shop is a conversation in the community which is the attraction of a modern coffee shop. Coffe shop is a place to socialize for anyone who wants to get a relaxed atmosphere to discuss or just to greet never left behind by the times. Coffee is one of the drinks made from spices that has become a favorite drink around the world. Modern coffee shops are a topic of conversation in society and attract the attention of many people. Currently, the business in the field of coffee shops has developed with an interesting concept of sales and presentation, ranging from the design of the place to the menu offered. In this study using qualitative descriptive methods with data collection techniques through interviews with resource persons, observation and supported by data in the form of documentation. The results of this study found that the marketing communication applied by Kedai Tambora is through marketing carried out using Kedai Tambora's own Instagram social media or by marketing through paid promotions with one of the influencers in Surabaya.

Abstract

This research is motivated by online gambling advertisements on Instagram social media by showing the dominance of female figures as commodification objects. In this advertisement, a female figure is shown wearing a bikini and showing an element of female sensuality, this can lead to gender inequality between men and women. The purpose of this study was to find out how the form of commodification of women occurs in online gambling advertisements on Instagram. This research is a qualitative study using the critical discourse analysis method of the Sara Mills model which has two basic concepts, namely the Position of the Subjects and the Position of the Reader or it can be called the position of the audience. The object to be studied is online gambling advertisements on Instagram social media.The results of the study show that women are often presented as subjects, characters who tell themselves as subjects to attract the audience. This is shown by showing how the female body is used as an object solely to attract men's interest in playing online gambling. The concept of the female body in commodification is a symptom that we often encounter in advertisements, the female body is likened to one of the commodifications that has a selling point. As a commodity, the body that can be converted is the concept of body and physical capital, which can be converted into economic, cultural and social capital.

Abstract

In utilizing the latest technology through internet networks, people prefer smartphones as communication media tools due to their flexibility. The numerous features offered enable faster access to anything, such as the TikTok social media platform. Mostly, TikTok is a social media platform favored by Generation Z, who seek learning solutions through the utilization of TikTok, such as the desire to learn video editing. This research employs a qualitative descriptive research method. The results from the utilization of TikTok as a platform for learning video editing by Generation Z are that the conveyed information is more easily comprehended. The potential role of TikTok for Generation Z as a learning medium encompasses the available features on TikTok, the delivery methods of content creators, implementation, and collaboration. The obstacles faced in using TikTok for Generation Z as a learning medium include the lack of formal educational context and the inconsistent quality of content provided by content creators to Generation Z.

Abstract

The identification of the problem in this study is how the strategy of Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Surabaya attracts listeners in Programa 4 Tanjung Perak. The identification of the problem is then elaborated again with a detailed discussion in several problem formulations, namely how does the strategy of Radio Republik Indonesia Surabaya attract listeners in Programa 4 Tanjung Perak?. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with the research approach used is mass communication. The informants of this research were the head of administration, the head of division of Programa 4 Tanjung Perak, the announcer of Programa 4 Tanjung Perak and the listeners of Programa 4 Tanjung Perak. Observation, interviews and documentation were used as data collection methods. Data analysis techniques used in three steps are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the Programa 4 Tanjung Perak broadcast is a broadcast that contains local culture, which is transmitted in the form of art through music, traditional musical instruments and messages from cultural experts. Radio is a digital media tool for disseminating information while Progama 4 Tanjung Perak acts as a form of message which then becomes an intermediary between disseminating information and receiving information about local culture. Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Surabaya's strategy to attract listeners is to use.
