Abstract

This study aims to understand the news production process at Suarasurabaya.net online media. The results show that Suarasurabaya.net utilizes digital technology to accelerate the process of real-time news production and distribution. Features typical of online media such as hyperlinks, multimedia, and interactivity are used to package news attractively. Suarasurabaya.net also applies journalistic standards in maintaining the accuracy and credibility of information, despite facing challenges related to news speed, human resource management, and competition with other online media.

Abstract

Adherence to the journalistic code of ethics not only demonstrates the integrity and professionalism of a journalist, but also serves as an important foundation in maintaining public trust. good implementation of the journalistic code of ethics can be the foundation for professional and responsible journalistic practices. Through descriptive qualitative method with Teun Van Dijk's Discourse Analysis approach, the analysis structure used in this research includes text (macro structure, superstructure, micro structure), social cognition, and social context. This research aims to analyse how journalists in the coverage of the tunnel collapse disaster are depicted in the film The Tunnel. The results showed that there were criticisms of how journalists violated the South Korean Journalistic Code of Ethics. Particularly article 4 which deals with news and commentary, and article 5 which deals with dignity and privacy. In addition, violations also occur in the standards of practice of journalists based on the code of ethics, such as article 2 on news gathering found in paragraph 2 on natural disaster coverage and paragraph 4 on violations through telephone interviews, and article 3 on news reporting in paragraph 3 regarding the use of sensationalism in news reports. The movie portrays the media as an entity with dual characters: SNC as a media that often violates journalistic ethics and YTN as a media representative that complies with the code of ethics standards.

Abstract

Food waste has become a serious issue in Indonesia that requires urgent attention. The Food Rescue program offers significant benefits in reducing food waste and its negative environmental impact. The purpose of this research is to understand the Public Relations strategies employed by organizations to introduce and successfully implement the Food Rescue program to the public. Garda Pangan utilizes a Strategy of Publicity, which includes conducting campaigns, leveraging social media, and collaborating with mass media to disseminate information to the community. Garda Pangan practices seven types of Public Relations, including publicity, events, news, corporate identity, community involvement, lobbying and negotiation, and social responsibility. They also apply the Two-Way Symmetrical model, emphasizing open dialogue, transparency, and mutual understanding between the organization and its public.

Abstract

Emotions are normal reactions that occur in humans. Emotional is closely related to the expression of feelings. Emotional is a trait that exists because of emotions. In general, emotions are states that cannot be controlled. Emotional feelings are a condition that can affect daily life. However, emotional reactions are something that can also be controlled. One of the studio houses from the United States, Pixar Animation Studios, wants to try to understand more about how emotions can be formed from an early age through animated films. This research analyzes the representation of interpersonal communication between parents and children in the animated film "Inside Out". This research uses Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic analysis model by analyzing through two stages of marking, namely denotation and connotation. The collection process is carried out by watching the animated films directly and also taking references from third parties. The results of this research show that there are problems that make interpersonal communication between parents and children in the animated film "Inside Out" not run well because the child cannot express emotions and feelings, parents feel guilty towards their children, and this animated film is one a tool that can be used as a learning medium.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the discourse of sexual harassment against men in the film Dear David. This study uses qualitative research with the Teun A. Van Djik Critical Discourse Analysis method. The analysis was carried out at the level of text analysis, social cognition and social context. The results of this study indicate that in the text analysis, David as the victim experienced harassment both physically and verbally. This sexual harassment was also carried out by women who showed interest or liking, while highlighting that women also have sexual desires. David as the victim also experienced negative psychological impacts, namely panic attacks. In social cognition, the discourse of film production is influenced by the knowledge, awareness, and social perspectives of the production team. While in the social context, the film Dear David depicts the manipulation of power and social status as well as the phenomenon of traumatic bonding that makes it difficult for victims to report or end relationships. Power and access influence the dynamics of sexual harassment, where the concepts of toxic masculinity and victim blaming create significant social stigma that prevents male victims from reporting.

Abstract

Residents need information about job vacancies in order to get a job easily. Before the development of innovation, job vacancy information provided to citizens was usually only through print media. But as technology develops very rapidly, it makes it easier to spread data on job openings. One of the digital media used to find information about job vacancies is telegram. In the telegram there is still a lot of information that is false and untrue. In the amount of information about job vacancies circulating on telegram. The author found 3 factors, disinformation, misinformation and malinformation. The interviewees felt that these terms were still too technical and complicated to be used for the wider community, whose level of understanding and literacy was still low. Public understanding of the dissemination of information in telegram media is not good enough and is less critical. However, some people already know the importance of digital literacy to filter information well and not easily provoked by the news circulating.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence level of TikTok content @dailyjour on parenting knowledge among young married couples. The theory used is the S.O.R (Stimulus, Organism, Response) Theory, which relates to communication messages and reactions. The research method employed is quantitative, using questionnaires for data collection and conclusion drawing. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. Based on the conducted research, it can be concluded that the TikTok content @dailyjour has a significant influence on parenting knowledge among young married couples. The communicants are able to receive and process the stimulus from the TikTok content @dailyjour, resulting in an attitude change, specifically an increase in parenting knowledge.

Abstract

This research raises the issue of Babagrosir's digital marketing strategy as Islamic fashion on social media. Utilizing Instagram social media as a tool to form and increase sales is the right thing. The purpose of this research is to understand and describe the digital marketing strategy carried out by Babagrosir to increase sales to the public. It is hoped that the results of this research will become a reference for future parties. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods and is analyzed using Marketing Public Relations theory. Data was collected through interviews with informants, namely Babagrosir's manager and Babagrosir's Instagram admin. Apart from that, researchers also observed Instagram content. The results of the research also showed that Babagrosir carried out the three elements of Marketing Public Relations, namely: push strategy, pull strategy, pass strategy. Of these three things, Babagrosir did it well and also on target.

Abstract

This research discusses the semiotic analysis of the meaning of motivation in the lyrics of the song "Satu-Satu" by Idgitaf. In this research, the author uses a semiotic method based on Saussure's ideas. Saussure's theory explains that signs have interconnected elements: signifier and signified. The results of the research of the song lyrics "Satu-Satu" by Idgitaf have meanings related to motivational messages. The motivation in question is the motivation to rise from the downturn of life and keep going because there will be a future for people who are strong to rise and survive. The songwriter also invites listeners to be patient and sincere with everything that has happened, because everyone must have bad experiences. The data analysis method is based on Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotics which focuses on the symbols themselves.

Abstract

This study is entitled Analysis of Jessica Wongso's Self-Image Reception in the Documentary Film "Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee, and Jessica Wongso" which is the background of this study is that film is one form of mass media and the documentary film "Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica Wongso" presents another perspective on the controversial case of Jessica Wongso and how she is depicted, different from the representation of the mass media in 2016 which gave rise to various perceptions among the public. Reviewed and connected with Stuart Hall's reception theory on the study of meaning or acceptance. The purpose of this study is to find out how the analysis of Jessica Wongso's self-image reception in the documentary film "Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica Wongso". This type of research is qualitative descriptive with a reception analysis research method. The observation unit in this study is the documentary film "Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica Wongso". The data collection technique used is FGD (Focus Group Discussion). The data validity checking technique used is the extension of participation, observer persistence and triangulation. Data analysis in this study is data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. It can be concluded that the documentary film "Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica Wongso" effectively presents various perspectives on the Jessica Wongso case. The results of the study also highlight the importance of understanding how the media shapes and influences public perceptions of the depiction of the self-image of figures such as Jessica Wongso in controversial cases and her involvement in views on justice and the justice system. The results of the discussion in the decoding process were that the majority of participants were in the Dominant Hegemonic Position.
