Abstract

The limitations in the development of seaweed cultivation business require development with the involvement of the government, seaweed associations, private sector cooperation and through business entities in the form of cooperatives. The Agar Makmur Sentosa Cooperative was formed because of the awareness that seaweed farmers in Tlocor were not yet fully prosperous even though there was great potential for seaweed cultivation as an export commodity. The purpose of this study was to describe the role of the "Agar Makmur Sentosa" Cooperative in the development of seaweed cultivation business in Tlocor Hamlet, Sidoarjo Regency. The research method used was descriptive qualitative which was analyzed using the theory of the role of the public sector according to Jones in Mahsun (2006), namely Regulatory Role, Enabling Role, Direct Provision of Goods and Services. The results of the study stated that the Agar Makmur Sentosa Cooperative had carried out its role in the development of seaweed cultivation business quite well, namely in the Regulatory Role the cooperative had carried out it well in accordance with the regulations in the Cooperative's AD/ART and the Law related to Cooperatives, namely covering the marketing service procurement program, implementation of the RAT. In the Enabling Role indicator, it has been implemented quite well, but in the coaching program for farmer groups, evaluation is needed. In the Direct Provision of Goods and Services indicator, supervision has been carried out well as evidenced by the implementation of seaweed purchasing management and the implementation of evaluation.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the symbolic meanings embedded in the architectural elements and structure of the Pendopo Puro Mangkunegaran through a semiotic approach. Utilizing Roland Barthes' theory of semiotics, the analysis focuses on the denotative and connotative meanings of the building's form, spatial layout, and traditional Javanese ornamentation found in the pendopo. The findings reveal that Pendopo Puro Mangkunegaran represents Javanese cosmological values such as the relationship between humans and nature, spirituality, and social order. The pendopo is not merely a physical space but a cultural text containing ideological messages and the philosophical values of the Javanese community. This research also shows that semiotics can serve as an effective method in preserving traditional architecture by highlighting its profound meanings often overlooked in purely physical conservation approaches. These findings are relevant for the development of contextual architectural design based on local identity and the preservation of national cultural heritage.

Abstract

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder characterized by a sense of superiority, a need for praise, and a lack of empathy for others. In modern psychology, NPD is often associated with stressful childhood parenting or excessive praise, and has a negative impact on social relationships and psychological well-being. In Islam, arrogant behavior and feeling superior to others have received serious attention, as emphasized in the Qur'an, especially QS. Luqman: 18. The verse explicitly warns humanity to stay away from arrogance and pride, which are substantially similar to the characteristics of NPD. This article aims to analyze Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) from the perspective of the Qur'an by examining the Tafsir Al-Manar on QS. Luqman: 18. Using a descriptive qualitative method based on the study of interpretation, this study identifies the relevance of the verse to the phenomenon of NPD in the context of modern psychology. Tafsir Al-Manar written by Muhammad Abduh and Rasyid Rida emphasizes that arrogance not only has an impact on individuals psychologically but also has the potential to damage social order and interpersonal relationships. The findings of this study indicate that Islamic teachings, through QS. Luqman: 18 and its explanation in Tafsir Al-Manar, offer practical and spiritual solutions to deal with narcissistic tendencies. Islam encourages an attitude of tawadhu' (humbleness), self-introspection, and strengthening spirituality through the practice of dhikr, contemplation, and controlling lust. Previous studies have also shown that an approach based on Islamic values can help reduce the need for external validation and improve an individual's psychological well-being. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of integrating modern psychological understanding with Islamic teachings for a more holistic treatment of narcissistic personality disorder. In addition, the results of this study provide broad social and religious implications, namely the creation of a more harmonious society, a decrease in authoritarian and exploitative behavior in leadership, and strengthening interpersonal relationships based on empathy and sincerity. Therefore, the implementation of the values of the Qur'an and the practice of Islamic teachings in everyday life can be an effective instrument to prevent and handle narcissistic behavior sustainably.

Abstract

Islamic education holds a strategic role in shaping character and enhancing the quality of human resources in Indonesia. Amid the complexity of a multicultural society and the ever-changing global landscape, Islamic education is compelled to undergo substantive transformation. This study analyzes the direction and implementation of Islamic education policies and evaluates their contribution to improving educational quality. Using a qualitative approach and literature-based method, data were collected from policy documents, scholarly publications, and relevant previous research. The findings indicate that the government has enacted several strategic measures, including madrasah revitalization, integrative curriculum strengthening, teacher competency development, and accreditation-based management reform. However, policy implementation at the institutional level faces various obstacles, such as inadequate infrastructure, low digital literacy, and suboptimal human resource support. The study underscores the importance of contextual, adaptive, and participatory policy formulation. Furthermore, collaboration among government, communities, and educational institutions is vital for reinforcing the role of Islamic education as a foundation for national character building. A more systemic and responsive approach to local needs and global challenges is expected to enable Islamic education to make a tangible contribution to the sustainable enhancement of national educational quality.

Abstract

This study analyzes the framing of Tempo.co's media coverage of the inclusion of the 7th President Joko Widodo as one of the finalists for the 2024 'person of the year' by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which highlights the world's most corrupt leaders. Using the framing theory of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, this study examines how syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures are used in the construction of news by tempo.co. The results of the study show that although OCCRP stated that it had no evidence of Joko Widodo's personal involvement in corruption, Tempo.co's reporting emphasized the issue of weakening the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and allegations of political intervention for the benefit of the President's family. The framing used formed a critical public perception of Joko Widodo's leadership. This study shows the important role of media in shaping social construction and public opinion through the presentation of news that is structured and full of ideological meaning

Abstract

In 2020, the World Bank conducted a Service Delivery Indicator (SDI) survey to measure the performance and quality of education services. The survey was conducted in 263 schools under the auspices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) and 87 elementary schools under the Ministry of Education and Culture. One of the results was the high level of teacher absenteeism in the basic education system in Indonesia, with almost one in four teachers (23.5 percent) absent from class on a given day. Most of these absences were officially permitted, indicating that the education management system needs to be improved. Human Resource Management (HR) in Islamic education has a strategic role in improving the quality of Islamic Educational Institutions (LPI). By referring to various theories of HR management, competence, performance, and professionalism, this study aims to analyze effective HR management strategies that can improve the quality of HR so that education services are also of high quality. Through a qualitative approach, data obtained from the analysis of various literatures, this study identifies various strategies that can be applied to achieve these goals. The results of the study indicate that training, development, and performance evaluation are key elements in effective HR management, in addition to the need for HR planning, compensation and rewards. It was also found that a holistic approach based on Islam can improve the effectiveness of human resource management in education, thus having a positive impact on the quality of educators (Ilhamsyah, 2024). This study also identified research gaps and novelties in the development of human resource management in Islamic educational institutions. Recommendations are given to stakeholders to develop more comprehensive policies in the management of Islamic educational human resources.

Abstract

This research examines UNICEF's strategies to address child malnutrition in Palestine during the period 2020-2024. The background of this research is rooted in the high rate of malnutrition caused by prolonged conflict, limited access to food, and inadequate health services in the region. The main objective of this research is to analyze the effectiveness and challenges faced in the implementation of UNICEF's programs aimed at reducing malnutrition among Palestinian children. To describe in detail the results of UNICEF's implementation in its efforts to address malnutrition in Palestinian children, the author uses the application of the Triple Nexus theory. The method used in this research is qualitative with a literature study approach, which involves secondary data analysis from UNICEF reports, humanitarian organizations, and related scientific publications. The results showed that UNICEF implemented various strategies, including nutritious food distribution, nutrition education to families, and collaboration with local and international partners. Despite improvements in access to aid and nutrition knowledge among communities, challenges such as conflict-induced distribution bottlenecks and limited funding remain key constraints. However, this study confirms that UNICEF's strategy has been effective in reducing malnutrition rates but that broader collaborative efforts and continued support are needed to overcome the obstacles on the ground and ensure the well-being of Palestinian children.
