Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of a curriculum that integrates science education into the pesantren curriculum at Alkautsar Modern Islamic Boarding School, Simalungun. It further examines the model of science learning integration implemented within the pesantren curriculum, the process of implementing integrative science learning, and the evaluation techniques employed at Alkautsar Modern Islamic Boarding School, Simalungun. This study imployed a qualitative research method with an analytical approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, and subject teachers as the primary informants. In addition, field observations and document analysis were conducted to support the findings. Data were analyzed using the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that: 1) In the curriculum development stage, Alkautsar Modern Islamic Boarding School, Simalungun, develops an integrative curriculum by using the school's vision, mission, and the Five Core Values (Panca Jiwa) of the pesantren as the primary foundation for educational implementation. The Merdeka Curriculum and the Kulliyatul Mu'allimin Al-Islamiyah (KMI) Curriculum are integrated contextually so that they complement each other while preserving their respective identities. 2) The science integration model implemented at the school consists of two main approaches: the interconnection model and the integrative model. The interconnection model is realized by aligning themes between science subjects and Islamic studies, while the integrative model is implemented by directly incorporating scientific concepts with Islamic values within the same learning process. 3) The implementation of integrative science learning is carried out consistently through the synergy between academic activities and the daily life of the pesantren. Learning is conducted using a student-centered approach combined with Project-Based Learning (PBL), halaqah, sorogan, and bandongan methods, classroom discussions, laboratory practicums, and experiential learning. 4) In terms of evaluation, Alkautsar Modern Islamic Boarding School, Simalungun, applies a comprehensive, continuous, and holistic assessment system. Evaluation is not limited to measuring students' cognitive achievement through written examinations, oral examinations, and laboratory practicums, but also assesses the development of attitudes, character, spirituality, the ability to apply knowledge in everyday life, and teachers' effectiveness in implementing integrative learning.

Abstract

In the dynamic and stressful modern corporate era, organizational productivity is highly dependent on optimizing human resource potential. This study aims to analyze and examine the role of employee mental health as a moderating variable in the relationship between work motivation and employee performance. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected from a sample of industrial sector employees experiencing high levels of work stress. Data analysis was conducted using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to detect the interaction effects of the moderating variables. The results of the analysis indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. However, testing for the moderation effect proves that this positive relationship is significantly strengthened when employees have a high level of mental health. Conversely, in conditions of poor mental health, the effect of motivation on performance decreases drastically. These findings confirm that conventional motivation enhancement programs will not achieve optimal results if organizations ignore workers' psychological well-being. The practical implications of this study urge company management to integrate mental health programs into human resource development strategies to maintain sustainable organizational performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the understanding and implementation of religious tolerance values by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in schools where Muslim students are a minority—specifically, SMA Free Methodist 1 Medan and SMA Free Methodist 2 Medan. The research employs a qualitative approach utilizing a comparative case study design and narrative inquiry. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, school principals, and students, as well as document analysis. Data analysis was conducted interactively through stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, alongside cross-site analysis. The findings indicate that PAI teachers at both schools share a consistent understanding of religious tolerance: an attitude of accepting and respecting differences without compromising Islamic faith. This understanding is grounded in Quranic references (such as Surah Yunus: 99, Surah Al-Kafirun: 6, and Surah Al-Ma'idah: 8), the thoughts of contemporary Islamic scholars, and the values of religious moderation (*wasathiyah*). Tolerance is implemented through contextual, dialogic, and humanistic teaching methods that relate to the students' reality as a minority group. Instructional strategies include group discussions, case studies, reflection, and the use of digital media. Factors supporting this success include an inclusive school culture, accommodating foundation policies, the provision of worship facilities or dedicated PAI spaces, and harmonious relationships among the academic community.

Abstract

The abundance of content circulating on social media poses a significant challenge for the world of education, as much of it can lead to a decline in students' religious awareness. This article aims to determine the effectiveness of social media use in education, specifically in increasing students' religious insight and religious awareness when using the internet. The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach through observation, interviews, and documentation of Islamic Religious Education teachers and students at SMAN 1 Dayeuhkolot. The results showed that the use of social media such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube in giving Islamic Religious Education assignments was able to increase student participation, interest in learning, and understanding of religious values. This study concluded that social media can be an effective tool in supporting Islamic Religious Education learning and increasing religious awareness if used wisely and in a targeted manner.

Abstract

The phenomenon of panic buying has become a global concern with the increasing frequency of crises, ranging from pandemics and geopolitical instability to natural disasters. This study aims to analyze panic buying behavior in an era of uncertainty by focusing on the role of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and social influence as mediating variables. Using a quantitative approach with a survey of consumers who have made emergency purchases, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that the perception of uncertainty significantly triggers psychological anxiety, which then manifests in the form of FOMO and susceptibility to social pressure. Both variables are proven to mediate the relationship between environmental uncertainty and consumers' decisions to hoard goods. These findings confirm that panic buying is not simply a logistical response to scarcity, but rather a manifestation of emotional contagion and maladaptive coping strategies. The practical implications of this study urge governments and retailers to manage information narratives to minimize the effects of FOMO during periods of crisis.
