Abstract

The focus of this article is the concept of Islamic development from the perspective of Kuntowijoyo's prophetic social science. The research data is qualitative data obtained through library research. The intellectual thought method is used to analyze this research. The research investigates the history of Kuntiwijoyo's thought and the development of his thought from Islamic politics to prophetic social literature. Axiologically, Kuntowijoyo's prophetic Islamic paradigm adheres to three principles: humanization (amar ma'ruf), liberation (nahi munkar), and transcendence (al-iman billah). In the context of development, it is necessary to objectify Islamic teachings so that the vision of rahmatan lil alamin can be real and felt by everyone, which results in equitable development based on the principles of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

Generation Bowing Down and the Challenges of Digital Ethics in Islamic Education" is a study that explores the impact of the evolution of digital technology on Islamic values among the younger generation. In an era where technologies like smartphones, the internet, and social media have become inseparable from daily life, the younger generation often finds themselves trapped in the "bowing down" behavior, directing their attention to gadget screens. In relation to Islamic education, this tendency presents significant ethical challenges. This research examines the effects of changing communication behaviors, learning patterns, and digital ethics in the digital era on Islamic educational practices. The focus is on how to teach Islamic values to the younger generation increasingly exposed to digital technology and how to address potential negative impacts that may arise. By delving deeper into the "generation bowing down" phenomenon and evaluating the aspects of digital ethics in education, this study also formulates an effective role for Islamic education in preserving fundamental Islamic values in the digital era. Through a deeper understanding of these dynamics, it can be an effort to prepare the younger generation to integrate digital technology into their lives in harmony with crucial Islamic values

Abstract

The involvement of indigenous peoples in environmental protection is of significant importance. Due to their profound affinity for the natural world, they assume a pivotal role in the forefront of environmental preservation efforts. Conversely, the cultural practices and traditions of indigenous communities frequently encounter conflicts with the doctrinal principles of prevailing religions, such as Islam. Individuals who continue to uphold the customs and practices of their forebears, with the intention of preserving the harmony of the cosmos, are frequently labelled as primitive, animistic, irreligious, and such. The objective of this study is to reexamine the correlation between the cultural practices of the indigenous community residing in Kampung Kuta and the Islamic faith, specifically in the context of their endeavours towards environmental preservation. This study argues that the interpretation of rituals and traditions through the lens of intersubjective relationships might establish a connection between these practices and the preservation of the environment, as well as the application of Islamic principles in daily existence. The utilization of pamali and pikukuh customs aligns with the Islamic principles of prohibiting harm (fasad) and the idea of Khalifah.  The significance of these two notions lies in their role in the conservation of the natural environment, as human behaviors influenced by their connection with nature have a direct impact on the current and future state of the environment.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the opinions of the disagreement of the madzhab scholars about the position of receivables as an object of zakat and find the most correct opinion among these opinions. Zakat is an essential element in the Islamic social framework. A lack of understanding of the assets included in the object of zakat will allow a muzakki to miss some of the zakat objects that he should pay.  This research uses a qualitative method. The data collection technique used is literature review. The data collected in this research comes from reference books, scientific articles and official websites that contain information on the research topic, namely zakat and Islamic fiqh. The results of this research show that the fiqh scholars agree on the obligation of a muzakki to pay zakat on assets that have reached the niṣāb. But, the madzhab scholars differed on the treatment of muzakki's assets that are on loan or in the hands of another person. The most correct opinion is the opinion of Imam Ahmad, which is that if a muzakki receives the receivable back, he must pay zakat for each year that the asset is in the hands of another person.

Abstract

This research aims to look at offers in inter-religious dialogue in Indonesia regarding the polemic of religious fanaticism. This research explains the Islamic thought approach of Nurcholis Madjid and Amin Abdullah using analytical descriptive methods which include qualitative research with data in the form of literature and journals that are still related to the theme. The data collection technique is a literature study that relies on the books Islam, Modernity and Indonesianness from Nurcholis Madjid and Religious Studies: Normativity or Historicity from Amin Abdullah and related journals. The findings achieved from this research are in the form of an understanding of the ideas of historicity, normativity and religious inclusivism which explains that all three have the same approach in creating peace in Indonesia. historicity with historical, anthropological and sociological approaches, both of which must be united to be able to see the diversity of Indonesian society. Nurcholis Madjid with the idea of inclusivism, he criticizes religious traditions which tend to be formalistic textualists, thus changing them with a normative-historical approach and a classical-modern approach to be contextualized in the diversity of Indonesia's pluralistic society. It can be seen that these two Islamic thinkers have contributed ideas that can be actualized for the continuation of peace between religious communities in Indonesia. Therefore, both of them have approaches that can be used in dialogue between religious communities as an offer to polemics about religious fanaticism in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of Zakat collection, management, and distribution in improving social welfare in Indonesia, employing a sample of 250 participants and utilizing Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The measurement model analysis demonstrates robust loading factors, reliability, and convergent validity, while the discriminant validity analysis confirms the distinctiveness of the latent constructs. In the structural model, positive and statistically significant relationships are found between the effectiveness of Zakat distribution, collection, management, and the improvement of social welfare. The R-square and adjusted R-square values of 0.602 and 0.592, respectively, indicate a strong explanatory power of the model. These findings underscore the transformative potential of Zakat in addressing socio-economic disparities and contribute valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners in the field of social development.
