FAMILY AS CHILDREN'S FIRST EDUCATION; THE ROLE OF PARENTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN Muhammad Rizaq

Abstract

This research is motivated by the condition that the Indonesian nation is currently facing serious challenges, especially in the context of education because it has to deal with global competition, information and technology. The busyness of parents in their activities outside the home makes less attention to the role in the development of Islamic religious education for elementary school-aged children, which of course really needs an example from parents. Elementary school age children (SD) are those aged 7-12 years, in the following phase marked by everything having to go through coercion. Under pressure from adults or those in power, children exert little moral or logical control over their behavior. Age 12 and over (heteronon stage), in this phase a child begins to understand values ​​and begins to interpret in his own way. Morality is characterized by cooperation, not coercion, interaction with peers, discussion, self-criticism, a sense of equality and respect for others are the main factors in this phase. The family as the first school concept for children, plays an important role in the development of children's Islamic religious education. Exemplary, good habits are part of inculcating noble character and positive things that parents can do as first teachers for children. Fathers and mothers who have strong visions and missions strive to provide tarbiyah (education) in the form of recitations, literacy, as well as tazkiyah (self-cleaning) processes. each family member has a special worship charity, superior, both ritually and socially by making a family da'wah schedule and agenda. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi bangsa Indonesia saat ini sedang dalam menghadapi tantangan yang berat terutama dalam konteks pendidikan karena harus berhadapan dengan global competition, information and technology. Kesibukan orangtua dalam aktivitasnya diluar rumah menjadikan berkurangnya perhatian akan peran dalam perkembangan pendidikan agama Islam untuk anak usia sekolah dasar yang tentunya sangat membutuhkan keteladanan dari orangtua. Anak usia sekolah dasar (SD) adalah mereka yang berusia 7-12 tahun, pada fase berikut ditandai dengan segala sesuatu harus melalui paksaan. Dibawah tekanan orang dewasa atau orang berkuasa, anak sedikit menggunakan kontrol moral dan logika terhadap perilakunya. Usia 12 keatas (tahap heteronon), pada fase berikut seorang anak mulai mengerti nilai-nilai dan mulai memaknai dengan caranya sendiri. Moralitas ditandai dengan kooperatif, bukan faktor paksaan, interaksi dengan teman sebaya, diskusi, kritik diri, rasa persamaan dan menghormati orang lain merupakan faktor utama pada fase ini. Keluarga sebagai konsep sekolah pertama bagi anak, berperan penting bagi perkembangan pendidikan agama Islam anak. Keteladanan, pembiasaan baik merupakan bagian penanaman akhlak mulia dan hal positif yang dapat dilakukan orangtua sebagai guru pertama bagi anak. Ayah dan ibu yang memiliki visi-misi kuat berupaya untuk memberikan tarbiyah (pendidikan) dalam bentuk tilawah, literasi, juga proses tazkiyah (pembersihan diri), dan taklim. setiap anggota keluarga memiliki amal ibadah khusus, unggulan, baik secara ritual juga sosial dengan dibuatkannya jadwal dan agenda dakwah keluarga.

Abstract

This research delves into the intricate relationship between media representations and public attitudes toward religious tolerance in Indonesian mass media. Employing a mixed-methods approach involving content analysis and surveys with SPSS analysis, the study scrutinizes 300 religious news articles and surveys 150 participants. The content analysis reveals diverse themes, framing, and language, while the survey uncovers patterns in media exposure and public perceptions. Comparative analysis provides global perspectives, and the implications and recommendations offer actionable insights. The findings contribute to understanding the dynamics of media influence on religious tolerance, offering valuable insights for media practitioners, policymakers, and future research efforts

Abstract

Learning Islamic history at the school level is important, because learning Islamic history, students can take lessons from past events. Learning Islamic history at this time has not gone well, so students feel bored and bored. This is inseparable from the strategy of religion teachers in teaching. This research is intended to examine the strategy of religion teachers to overcome students' difficulties in learning Islamic history. The method used in this research is a quantitative method, with surveys and in-depth interviews. The research concluded that many religion teachers, especially in teaching Islamic history, cannot control the conditions in the classroom so that many of the students feel bored. There have been efforts made by religious teachers. The efforts made are varying learning methods according to students' learning styles in the classroom and providing interesting teaching materials. The limitation in this study is that researchers only conducted research in one place, researchers hope that future researchers can conduct research on religious teacher strategies to overcome student difficulties in learning Islamic history and develop other strategies.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Hadith and character education implementation on student discipline in Islamic schools. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 70 students through a structured questionnaire utilizing a 5-point Likert scale. The analysis, conducted with SPSS version 25, revealed significant positive relationships between Hadith education, character education, and student discipline. Regression analysis showed that both variables significantly predict student discipline, with character education demonstrating a slightly stronger effect. These findings highlight the importance of integrating religious teachings with structured character-building programs to foster disciplined behavior among students. The study provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers to enhance disciplinary practices in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan dengan tujuan melakukan pendampingan belajar anak Generasi Alpha dalam kegiatan Pesantren Ramadhan untuk membangun karakter religius. Lokasi pengabdian bertempat di Masjid Markazul Ukhuwwah, Perumahan Bekasi Timur Regensi, RW 010, Kabupaten Bekasi. Kegiatan diikuti 115 anak Generasi Alpha mulai usia 3–12 tahun. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian berupa pendampingan belajar. Kegiatan ini memberikan materi pendidikan agama Islam: 1) Membaca Al-Qur’an menerapkan metode iqro dan An-Nahdliyah; 2) Ilmu fiqih (ibadah) menerapkan teknik tanya jawab dan simulasi; 3) Pendidikan akidah akhlak menggunakan metode konvensional dan tanya jawab. Hasil belajar yang diharapkan: 1) Membaca Al-Qur’an, dapat memahami nilai spiritual dan moral bekal membangun karakter religius; 2) Belajar ilmu fiqih (ibadah), dapat bersikap sopan dalam berhubungan dengan Tuhannya dan menghargai orang lain; 3) Belajar akidah akhlak, diharapkan memiliki akhlak yang taat menjalankan perintah Tuhannya dan menjauhkan larangan-Nya, terwujud membangun karakter religius untuk menghadapi tantangan kehidupan. Dengan demikian, kegiatan Pesantren Ramadhan strategi membentuk karakter religius (anak Generasi Alpha) menghadapi tantangan menuju Indonesia Emas 2045.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the impact of PAI learning on students’ social awareness. This study analyzes previous journals to investigate the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in increasing students’ social awareness in secondary schools. The research method uses a literature analysis approach by identifying and evaluating key findings from previous studies that are relevant to this topic. Data was obtained from journal articles, books and other related research published in the last period. The results of the analysis show that PAI can significantly influence students’ understanding and social behavior, by emphasizing values such as justice, empathy and social responsibility. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of supporting and expanding more in-depth research on how PAI can be optimized to effectively increase students’ social awareness in educational settings.
