Abstract

Collaboration between students and the community is a crucial strategy in village empowerment to achieve sustainable development. This study aims to describe the forms of student-community collaboration in educational programs, environmental actions, and the commemoration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day in West Ambarawa Village, Pringsewu Regency. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation during program implementation. The results indicate that educational activities, including campus outreach, prevention of immorality, anti-bullying, and early childhood education (PAUD) mentoring, increased educational awareness and social literacy. Environmental actions such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong) and mosque revitalization successfully strengthened the values of mutual cooperation and environmental cleanliness. Furthermore, QRIS socialization positively impacted the digital literacy of MSMEs, while local tourism promotion increased the village's tourism potential. The commemoration of the 80th Indonesian Independence Day served as a platform for strengthening social capital and community togetherness. Despite challenges such as limited time and participation, this collaboration significantly contributed to strengthening community capacity. Further recommendations include ongoing mentoring, infrastructure support, and strengthening the role of youth to ensure the program's sustainability.

Abstract

The development of tourism villages is an effective strategy to improve community welfare and support the realization of sustainable development at the local level. This study aims to analyze strategies for developing a tourism village through the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN), with a particular focus on creating a healthy, clean, and educational village in Ambarawa, Pringsewu Regency. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews with village officials, community leaders, and local entrepreneurs, as well as documentation of program activities. The findings reveal that the implementation of the KKN program involved three main strategies. First, environmental hygiene and health education were carried out through socialization, mentoring, and community-based clean-up initiatives. Second, digital-based tourism promotion was developed using social media and online platforms, which increased destination visibility and enhanced tourist appeal. Third, local economic empowerment was strengthened by providing training and mentoring for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), along with the introduction of non-cash transactions using QRIS to facilitate modern and efficient payments. These efforts successfully fostered community participation, raised environmental awareness, and stimulated innovative approaches to tourism promotion. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, such as limited program duration, low levels of digital literacy among some residents, and the absence of comprehensive regulations governing tourism management. Recommendations include establishing a formal tourism management institution (Pokdarwis), enhancing capacity through digital literacy training, and fostering sustainable collaboration among government, academia, and the community to ensure that tourism village development can progress consistently, innovatively, and sustainably.

Abstract

The waqf mushaf program in Garut Village, Kopo District, Serang Regency, Banten, was part of the Student Community Service (KKM) initiative aimed at supporting religious education in the area. This activity arose from the identified need for Qur’anic manuscripts in local institutions, which significantly limited the effectiveness of Qur’anic learning. The program involved several stages: preparation, identifying the needs of the community, fundraising, the distribution of mushaf to madrasahs and Qur’anic centers, and evaluation. A participatory approach was employed, where the community actively participated as both donors and beneficiaries. This approach not only facilitated the smooth execution of the program but also ensured a sense of ownership and responsibility among the local people. The program received strong support, with high levels of community participation in fundraising and distribution activities. The results showed a marked improvement in access to Qur’anic learning, as teachers and students now had better resources to facilitate their study of the Qur'an. The distribution of mushaf not only enhanced the quality of education but also fostered a greater awareness of waqf as an important Islamic social instrument. Through this initiative, the community gained a deeper understanding of the value of waqf in contributing to religious education and promoting social welfare

Abstract

Karang Taruna is a youth organization that plays a strategic role in developing the social and economic capacity of rural communities. However, local potential is often underutilized due to limited entrepreneurial knowledge, managerial skills, and access to mentoring. This community service program aimed to assist the Karang Taruna of Kedungturi Village, Taman Subdistrict, Sidoarjo, in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit based on the village’s local resources. The implementation method applied a participatory approach that directly involved youth through several stages: village potential mapping, entrepreneurship training, business mentoring, and facilitation of digital marketing access. The mentoring process provided not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience in developing business ideas that correspond to local resource characteristics. The results of the program indicated an increased understanding among Karang Taruna members regarding entrepreneurship concepts, business management strategies, and the use of digital technology. Furthermore, the program successfully initiated three new business ventures based on local potential, namely traditional culinary products, waste-based handicrafts, and digital services. The establishment of a youth entrepreneurship team under Karang Taruna further strengthened collective commitment to developing the village’s creative economy. The impacts were not limited to improved skills but also included the growing awareness of the importance of local resource–based economic independence. In conclusion, this program demonstrates that participatory mentoring through Karang Taruna can serve as an effective strategy to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit of rural youth while promoting local economic independence and sustainability.

Abstract

Toraja woven fabric is a significant cultural heritage of the Indonesian archipelago, known for its high artistic value and immense potential as a regional leading product. Despite this, challenges remain, particularly in terms of human resource management, which tends to be relatively simple, and the limited use of digital media in marketing. To address these issues, a Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented with the goal of enhancing the human resource capacity at the UNNONI Weaving Center, as well as expanding its marketing reach through the utilization of digital media. The methods employed in the program included identifying the core problems, providing HR management training, conducting digital marketing workshops (focusing on social media and online marketplaces), mentoring, and evaluating the program’s outcomes. The HR management training emphasized improving business management, task distribution, production recording, and enhancing teamwork. The digital marketing training covered the creation of social media accounts, content creation using Canva, branding strategies, and utilizing online marketplaces for promotion. The results indicated a significant improvement in both management and marketing aspects. The HR at the weaving center began implementing more organized production records, work coordination improved, and the UNNONI social media accounts became actively used for promotional purposes. Additionally, the Shopee marketplace was utilized, allowing consumers from outside the region to purchase products. These results demonstrate the successful integration of traditional craftsmanship with modern digital tools to enhance business sustainability and reach

Abstract

Mosques play a strategic role as centers of worship and community development at the local level, serving not only as places of worship but also as spaces for non-formal religious education. However, many rural mosques are experiencing declining functionality due to limited facilities, human resources, and a lack of sustainable programs. This condition is evident in the Al-Karomah Mosque in Kalibundar Hamlet, where religious activities have declined due to the lack of sustainability of the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPA) program. This community service activity aims to revitalize the function of the mosque by strengthening the TPA by emphasizing the instilling of religious moderation values and increasing community participation. Abstract

This study reports on an Independent Community Service Program (KKN Mandiri) conducted in Dusun Betu Raja 3, aimed at strengthening Islamic awareness through community-based educational activities. The program focused on two main initiatives: parenting dialogues with mothers, emphasizing child-rearing practices in line with Islamic values, and interactive sessions with children that introduced moral lessons from the stories of the prophets. Using participatory methods such as discussions, interactive lectures, and storytelling, the activities encouraged active engagement and created a supportive learning environment. Findings indicate that mothers gained a deeper understanding of the significance of Islamic parenting in shaping children’s moral character, while children demonstrated enthusiasm in listening to and applying the values embedded in prophetic stories. The program highlights the effectiveness of dialogical and narrative-based approaches in promoting religious awareness within rural communities. Overall, this initiative contributes not only to the development of individual family practices but also to the collective strengthening of Islamic identity in village life.
