Abstract

Jihad in the name of Allah with one's soul and wealth has various forms and rulings that are mentioned in many verses of the Holy Quran. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his. One of the battles mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah At Tawbah is the Battle of Tabuk and the events that took place there, as well as the lessons learned from it. The aim of this research is to review this battle and extract some of its lessons and conclusions using the analytical and descriptive approach. One of the most important results that the researcher reached is that this battle took place outside the Hijaz region, which required travel and effort, thus testing the determination of the believers. One of the greatest lessons learned is that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to live with the soldiers through all the hardships. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) presented the best models in their quick response to Allah and His Messenger, even though some delayed their departure for various excuses.

Abstract

Halal tourism in Indonesia is growing rapidly, supported by its huge potential as a country with the largest Muslim population. In addition to driving economic growth, this sector strengthens Indonesia's image as a Muslim-friendly destination. This article analyzes the development of halal tourism destinations through dramaturgy and structural functionalism approaches, highlighting the role of local culture and the integration of tourism elements. Using literature and field data, this study identifies strategies, challenges, and opportunities to create a sustainable destination. This article also provides recommendations for stakeholders to optimize halal tourism as part of inclusive economic development. This research uses a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach based on literature study to analyze the development of halal tourism in Indonesia through the perspective of dramaturgy and structural functionalism. This study integrates dramaturgy and structural functionalism to analyze the development of halal tourism in Indonesia. Dramaturgy sees the destination as a "stage" that displays Islamic values, while functionalism emphasizes the harmony of the system between elements. The results show the importance of stakeholder collaboration in creating a sustainable destination, strengthening culture, and capitalizing on economic potential. This approach cements Indonesia as a global halal tourism leader.

Abstract

This study critically examines the philological and historical-comparative linguistic approaches developed by Western orientalists in analyzing the Qur'anic lexicon and their implications for the doctrine of the authenticity and purity of the language of revelation in Islam. It also explores Muslim scholars' responses to claims of foreign language influence in the lexical construction of the sacred text. Starting from the assumption that the Qur'an contains elements of Aramaic, Hebrew, Syriac, and Ethiopic languages, orientalists such as Theodor Nöodeke, Abraham Geiger, Arthur Jeffery, and Christoph Luxenberg attempted to interpret the Qur'anic text as an evolutive product of pre-Islamic Arabic culture and history. This approach, despite its contribution to the field of language history, has been criticized by Muslim scholars for ignoring the theological dimension and sacredness of the Qur'an as divine revelation. Using a qualitative method and a desk study approach, this research analyzes key works from both orientalists and Muslim scholars. The results show that Western philological approaches to the Qur'an are not scientifically neutral but contain historical-critical assumptions that often contradict the normative-transcendental approach in the Islamic tradition. In response, contemporary Muslim scholars have developed an integrative approach that balances linguistic studies with contextual interpretation and emphasizes the importance of taking into account the dynamics of classical Arabic, Qur'anic rhetorical structures, and the context of revelation. As such, this study affirms the importance of a multidisciplinary and dialogical approach in understanding the complexity of Qur'anic vocabulary in order to avoid methodological reductionism and maintain the epistemic integrity of the revealed text.

Abstract

The inheritance distribution for adopted children without official legal recognition from the Religious Court often leads to disputes, particularly among legitimate heirs. This study aims to analyze and understand the implementation of inheritance processes for adopted children who have not obtained formal legal status. Referring to the Compilation of Islamic Law, this research employs a normative qualitative method with a case study approach to explore the application of the testamentary obligatory mechanism. The findings reveal that the testament obligatory mechanism can be used to allocate inheritance to adopted children who lack nasabiyah (bloodline) or sababiyah (marital ties) relationships. This obligatory bequest serves as a fair legal solution to accommodate the interests of adopted children while adhering to Islamic legal principles and minimizing potential disputes among legitimate heirs.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the symbolic values and social functions of the dowry tradition in Bugis wedding rituals, by highlighting its integration with Islamic principle, especially maqashid al-syariah. This study uses a qualitative approach with primary data sources obtained through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community leaders. The results of the study indicate that the dowry tradition in Bugis weddings contains deep symbolic values and carries out significant social functions in strengthening family ties and preserving customs. Furthermore, this study identified that the integration of Maqashid Al-Syariah values in Bugis wedding practices is going well through the Islamization of culture. Bugis wedding traditions are not found to be in conflict with Islamic law and are believed to bring benefits to husband and wife. This marriage custom is categorized as al-'dah as-sahihah or al-urf as-sahih, which is a good custom that can be used as a legal consideration based on the fiqh principle of al-adah muhakkamah. This study concludes that a deep understanding of the symbolic value and social function of dowry money within the framework of Islamic values provides a rich perspective on the harmony between local traditions and religious teachings.
