Abstract

his study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Ruang Belajar web on reading literacy skills. The study was conducted on grade III students of SDN 164 Pekanbaru. This study used a pretest-post-test non-equivalent control group design. The study took place in the eighth semester of the 2024/2025 school year. The study population consisted of grade III students from SDN 164 Pekanbaru who participated in a web-based Ruang Belajar reading literacy skills learning program. The sample in this study consisted of two groups: class III A, the experimental group, and class III C, the control group. The students involved in this study were 60 students, consisting of 30 students from each of Class III A and Class III C. This assessment used a test instrument that was arranged objectively and systematically. This test instrument was administered twice in each group, namely at the beginning of learning and at the end of learning, to assess students' reading literacy skills. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, namely the mean, and parametric inferential statistics, namely the independent sample t-test. Based on the analysis of the research data, the researchers identified several findings regarding the differences in pretest and posttest results between the experimental class and the control class. Before conducting the research, the researcher conducted a pretest to assess reading literacy ability. In the initial test (pretest), an average percentage score of 85.77% was obtained in the control class (III C). The category of student reading literacy was classified as high. In the experimental class, an average percentage score of 87.5% was obtained in the category of student reading literacy, which was also categorized as high in class III A at SDN 164 Pekanbaru. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the results of student reading literacy fall into the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve knowledge of language rules and structures in procedural texts with the theme of Cianjur's typical food. The study was conducted in the odd semester of 2024/2025 at MTs Al-Mu'awanah Cianjur. This study uses a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study was 33 students of class VII-B MTs Al-Mu'awanah Cianjur. The sample was determined as many as 31 students randomly selected using a simple technique without replacement. A test instrument was used to collect data on the use of Canva in learning procedural text skills. This instrument is valid because it is arranged objectively and systematically and is used on two occasions, namely before learning activities and after learning activities using Canva. Data were analyzed using parametric inferential statistical procedures. The analysis results data were validated internally using a checklist with time triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that students experienced an increased knowledge of structure and language rules in writing procedural texts. This can be seen from the students' scores on the pretest and posttest results. There is a difference in the scores from the two tests, which shows an increase. Also, using Canva with infographic design is efficacious in improving the ability to write procedural texts on Cianjur's typical food for class VII-B students of MTs Al-Mu'awanah Cianjur. Therefore, Canva can be a learning medium to improve students' ability to write procedural texts on Cianjur's typical food.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) Malay proverbs that use the word air based on inquisitive semantics; 2) the lesson plan for learning the meaning of Malay proverbs that use the word air based on inquisitive semantics through copying assignments in special teaching materials. This literature research was conducted in the fall semester of 2024/2025. The objects of this study were ten Malay proverbs that use the word air. To collect data on the meaning of Malay proverbs based on inquisitive semantics that use the word air, observation guidelines, and questionnaires were arranged objectively and systematically. Data on the meaning of Malay proverbs that use the word aur were analyzed using a thematic approach based on inquisitive semantics. Data on the implementation plan for learning were analyzed thematically based on the technique of copying assignments and test techniques in special teaching materials. The results of the study: 1) there is a description of the meaning of ten Malay proverbs that use the word air based on inquisitive semantics; 2) the implementation plan for learning the meaning of Malay proverbs that use the word water based on inquisitive semantics through the technique of copying assignment and test techniques in special teaching materials for grade X senior high school students containing 5 initial activities, 31 core activities, and 2 final activities.

Abstract

Traditional food can be used as a culinary tour that can elevate the image of a region. One of Indonesia's regions with a variety of conventional foods is Cianjur Regency. In Cianjur Regency, there is a tauco monument as a marker. This study explores the meaning of the signs on the Tuco monument. Charles Sanders Pierce's Semiotic Theory is used to analyze and interpret the signs on the monument. This article examines the meaning of the Tauco Monument through the lens of Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics. It connects it with project-based learning that involves direct observation, discussion, and creation of works, encouraging students to understand and express symbolic meanings through narrative, descriptive, and expository texts, as well as relevant educational media to shape the character and language skills of the younger generation. The monument was created to present the characteristics of Cianjur Regency, especially in the culinary field, taco, which is the identity of Cianjur that is already known in Indonesia. To be used as a self-identity of the Cianjur community, the monument is rich in various superior regional potentials manifested in the form of a memorial. All of them are a self-identity or identity of the community that has been forgotten in achieving and realizing and being grateful for the provision of sufficient natural resource potential from Allah SWT to the Cianjur community; of course, it must be managed optimally to fulfil the rights of the Cianjur community fully.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore: 1) teachers' reflective experiences can contribute to the development of Arabic language learning strategies Arabic language learning; 2) identify the impact of using songs on learning effectiveness; 3) explore the challenges teachers face in implementing this method. This research was conducted at MTs Ihyaul Ulum Miru Gresik in the odd semester of 2024/2025. The population in this study were ninth grade (IX) students at MTs Ihyaul Ulum Miru Gresik, the research sample was taken half of the six classes, namely classes AC. This study used a reflective autoethnography approach, in which the researcher reflected on personal experiences when applying the song method and observed its impact on student motivation and understanding. Data were collected through reflective journals, classroom observations, student interviews and analyzed using a thematic approach to identify patterns of experience, challenges and changes in teaching strategies. The results of this study showed that: 1) Teachers who conduct indepth selfreflection are able to develop more effective and contextualized learning strategies; 2) The use of songs in Arabic language learning at MTs Ihyaul Ulum Miru Gresik significantly has a positive impact on students' motivation, participation, and comprehension as well as helping to create a pleasant learning atmosphere, increase emotional involvement, and strengthen memory of vocabulary and sentence structure. In other words, songs are an effective innovation in transforming Arabic language learning; 3) The main challenges in the implementation of songbased learning include time constraints, diverse student responses, negative peer influences, technical constraints, and limited compatibility of materials with methods, which overall require teachers to be more flexible, reflective, and adaptive in maintaining a balance between creativity and academic needs.

Abstract

Creative writing is an essential skill in Indonesian language learning that supports the development of imagination, expression of ideas, and critical thinking. However, this skill is still a challenge for many learners due to the low relevance of the material to real life and the lack of contextualized learning approaches. This article aims to examine the implementation strategy of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving creative writing skills through a systematic literature review approach of ten scientific articles published in 2019-2024. The results show that PjBL is effective in creating an active, collaborative, and reflective learning environment by engaging learners in writing projects based on hands-on experiences. The article formulates four main principles of PjBL implementation strategies, namely contextual exploration, collaboration, production-revision of work, and publication and reflection. Despite its great potential, the implementation of PjBL also faces challenges such as time constraints, teacher competence, and the adequacy of supporting facilities. Therefore, the success of this strategy is determined by adaptive learning design and adequate institutional support. The findings are expected to be a theoretical and practical contribution in the development of creative writing literacy relevant to 21st century learning needs.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of Canva media in teaching speech text writing skills using a process skills approach in class VIII MTs Pondok Pesantren Baituddin Petapahan. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes of students, which are caused by the dominance of conventional methods and the lack of visualization of materials in learning Indonesian. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The study population consisted of 32 students. The sample was set at 30 student. The research instrument was an essay test administered before and after the application of Canva media. A checklist was used to validate the scoring results and internal data analysis. Data on learning outcomes of speech text material for both pretest and posttest were analyzed using parametric inferential statistical procedures. The appropriate procedure for this is a one-sample t-test for pretest and posttest data and a paired sample t-test for comparative data between posttest and pretest results preceded by an assumption test. The results of the study: 1) the pretest for speech text writing skills for both research groups was relatively low; 2) the procedure for learning the skills of writing speech texts using the process skills approach in Canva media; 3) the posttest of the skills of writing speech texts for the experimental group in learning using Canva media is higher than the learning outcome group in the control using conventional media. Thus, the synthesis of this study is that Canva media is effective for use in learning speech material in class VIII.

Abstract

Learning in an inclusive environment has numerous advantages. Still, it also presents several challenges that must be addressed, such as accommodating the diverse learning styles of both regular students and those with special needs. This study aims to determine the learning styles of students learning English in an inclusive learning environment and to explore the match between students' learning styles and teachers' teaching styles within this environment. The sample was Champions Community Homeschooling students who completed the form and responded to the questionnaire. They were divided into ten regular students and five students with special needs. This study was conducted at Champions Community Homeschooling, which is an inclusive school. This Champions Community Homeschooling inclusive school is located in Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. The study took place from March to September 2024. This study employed a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method. Data were collected using observations of the teaching and learning process and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The study found that the learning style that dominated special needs students in English classes was the aural learning style, followed by the reading/writing learning style. However, regular students had a reading and writing learning style, followed by a visual learning style. The results of this study also have implications for educators to design more flexible and inclusive teaching strategies that accommodate diverse learning styles.

Abstract

Popular Japanese pop culture is widely loved by students in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the use of popular pop culture by students while studying the Japanese language and culture. This study uses a qualitative research design with a qualitative descriptive method. The study was conducted at the Japanese Language and Culture Study Program at Darma Persada University, Jakarta, in the odd academic year 2024/2025 from September to December 2024. The subjects of the study were 100 people, consisting of 50 men and 50 women. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observations and forum group discussions. Data analysis techniques have three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and inference drawing and verification. The study’s findings revealed that popular pop culture that is widely loved by students to learn Japanese culture and language is anime/cartoons and manga/comics. The background knowledge of students about Japanese popular culture has a significant influence on the choice of types of Japanese pop culture and can be used as authentic material in class. Popular language pop culture has an important role in the concept of building a learning environment that is under the character of the language culture. The results of the study can recommend to lecturers to research the development of authentic teaching materials from various types of popular Japanese pop culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasikan, menganalisis makna konseptual, dan menginterpretasikan fungsi utama penggunaan metafora dalam lirik lagu “Kupu-Kupu” yang dipopulerkan oleh Tiara Andini. Kajian ini tidak hanya bertujuan untuk mengapresiasi aspek kesastraan dalam musik populer, tetapi juga untuk memahami bagaimana bahasa digunakan secara kreatif guna menyampaikan pengalaman emosional yang kompleks kepada khalayak luas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis, berfokus pada ungkapan-ungkapan metafora yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Instrumen utama dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri (human instrument) dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa simak dan catat. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode padan referensial untuk menjelaskan makna dan teori klasifikasi metafora yang dikemukakan oleh Ullmann. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa lirik lagu ini kaya akan penggunaan metafora, yang dapat diklasifikasikan ke dalam empat jenis berbeda. Jenis yang paling dominan adalah metafora dari konkret ke abstrak, dengan total 12 temuan. Metafora ini berfungsi secara efektif untuk menerjemahkan konsep perasaan yang abstrak (seperti malu atau semangat) menjadi gambaran konkret yang lebih mudah dipahami dan dirasakan oleh pendengar, contohnya pada frasa “pipi merona” dan “jaga bara kau jadi apiku”. Selain itu, ditemukan pula metafora antropomorfik (2 temuan) yang memberi sifat manusia pada konsep cinta dalam “Wahai cinta beri pertanda”, metafora sinestetik (1 temuan) yang mencampurkan indra perabaan dan pendengaran pada “bisingkan dada”, serta metafora kehewanan (1 temuan) yang mencitrakan subjek laksana makhluk bersayap pada “jangan hentikan kepak sayapmu”. Penggunaan beragam metafora ini secara efektif membangun imajinasi, memperdalam makna, dan memperkaya nilai estetika lirik lagu.
