Abstract

One of the coastal areas that has large areas of potential mangroves is Wonorejo District, East Surabaya. The Wonorejo Mangrove Ecotourism concept provides economic benefits for people who have creative small industries to improve people's living standards. Pedada fruit (Sonnerita spp) is one of the products of mangrove forests which is rich in nutritional content, rich in antioxidants and dietary fiber which has great potential to be developed as a functional food product. The UPN Veteran East Java community service program in the "UPN Serves" scheme has developed the potential of mangroves (Pedada fruit and Pedada Pulp Flour) into functional food products based on local food. The aim of this community service program is to encourage Wonorejo Mangrove Farmer Group partners to further increase the potential of mangroves as a functional food product to improve the economy and preserve the environment through creative small industries with an appropriate technological approach. The approach method used is in the form of surveys, provision and technical training/guidance, as well as mentoring. The results of the activity show that through knowledge transfer, mentoring and training on appropriate technology, functional food products from pedada fruit and pedada fruit pulp flour have attracted the interest and participation of partners to further utilize the potential of mangroves as functional food products, as well as opening up business opportunities from these activities. The functional products created from this program are Pedada Cookies high in fiber and antioxidants, Pedada Onion Sticks high in fiber, Pedada Fruit Jam high in fiber and vitamin C, and Pedada Jelly Candy high in collagen and vitamin C. The output of this program is Appropriate Technology food products The functional function of mangroves is expected to be a commercial product and superior product of the Wonorejo Surabaya Mangrove Farmers group.

Abstract

Waung Village is one of the villages located in Krembung District, Sidoarjo Regency which has great potential in the development and conservation of toga. However, residents still have not optimized this potential. The aim of carrying out the Unusida HMTK PPK is as a form of synergy between students and the community to optimize the potential that exists in the village and create a healthy society. The activities carried out include socialization of the program, mapping of the biodiversity potential of medicinal plants in the village, training in planting and conservation of toga, as well as development of processing of toga products. The results of the implementation of the activities that have been carried out are the formation of a toga conservation area and the development of processed toga products in the form of telang syrup, telang chocolate and dry tea

Abstract

This article about community service activities discusses the transformation of the electromedical profession as a response to technological developments in the management of electromedical equipment with the aim of improving the quality of health services. This transformation includes changes in the roles, skills and responsibilities of electromedical professionals to adapt and optimize increasingly complex electromedical equipment. The results of this workshop show that the transformation of the electromedical profession has a positive impact on the management of electromedical equipment and the quality of health services. Electromedical professionals involved in this transformation experience increased competency and effectiveness in caring for, maintaining, and repairing electromedical equipment. Apart from that, the application of the latest technology also allows for more efficient monitoring and management of electromedical equipment. Abstract

Peternak ikan lele sebagai pensuply bahan bagi Home Industri krupuk lele didaerah Sidoarjo dalam kegiatan pengabdian dengan dijadikan mtra kegiatan. Dalam menjalankan usahanya, kedua Mitra mengalami permasalahan yang harus diselesaikan baik dalam aspek produksi, keuangan, produk, pemasaran maupun budidaya lele. Permasalahan tersebut adalah keterbatasan modal, menajemen keuangan masih belum terstruktur, waktu proses produksi lama dikarenakan pemotongan krupuk lele mentah dengan pisau dan pembuatan adonan dilakukan manual. Home Industri krupuk lele belum bisa memasarkan produknya ke Toko ternama karena belum mempunyai sertifikat Pangan dan Industri Rumah Tangga dari Dinas Kesehatan. Pengetahuan kedua Mitra mengenai strategi pemasaran khususnya online masih kurang. Pengetahuan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) Peternak ikan lele mengenai budidaya ikan lele khususnya pembuatan pakan alternatif masih kurang. Tim mengadakan pendampingan untuk mengatasi permasalahan hanya pada aspek produksi, produk, pemasaran, dan budidaya lele. Hal ini bertujuan agar ada peningkatan kualitas dan pendapatan Mitra. Tim melakukan pengadaan mesin pemotong krupuk lele, mesin pencampur adonan untuk Peternak ikan lele. Tim juga membuatkan desain kemasan dan mengurus sertifikat Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (PIRT) ke Dinas Kesehatan Sidoarjo. Tim melakukan pelatihan pemasaran (strategi pemasaran) khususnya online untuk kedua Mitra dan pembuatan blogs dengan alamat www.krupukleleblog.wordpress.com untuk Peternak ikan lele. Tim melakukan pengadaan mesin pembuat pakan seperti pellet untuk Peternak ikan lele. Setelah dilakukan pendampingan tersebut, manfaat yang didapat Mitra antara lain proses produksi lebih cepat, kualitas krupuk lebih bagus, lebih mudah memasarkan, pengetahuan mengenai strategi pemasaran bertambah dan dapat membuat pakan alternatif sendiri sehingga biaya produksi rendah.

Abstract

Household waste is a type of waste that contributes to environmental pollution. Waste can cause a nuisance if it is not handled seriously. Sixty-eight percent of the waste in the school environment consists of organic waste, which is a type of waste that can be decomposed by bacteria. Composting is one of the right methods for dealing with wasterelated problems. Takakura is a composting method that can be implemented by the general public because the method is simple and easy to apply. The method used is an interactive counseling method and demonstration via video in introducing Takakura compost making. The results obtained from this activity were that participants were enthusiastic and happy to take part in this activity because they gained additional knowledge in managing household organic waste, which can produce compost as a final product, and can be sold to provide additional family income.

Abstract

Organic waste can be reprocessed into compost. Compost can be made using several methods. One composting method is the Takakura method. This method has advantages compared to other methods, namely 1) it is practical, does not require a large location, the basket can be placed anywhere as needed, 2) it is easy because the waste is only put and buried in the composter, 3) it does not smell, because the process is through fermentation, not rotting. The aim of holding this training is to increase students' knowledge and skills in managing organic waste into compost so that they can reduce the amount of waste and create a cleaner andhealthier environment. The activities carried out include socializing waste sorting and making compost, handing over trash bins, making compost, maintaining compost, applying compost to planting media and monitoring the results of compost applicationto planting media.

Abstract

Currently, there are many problems regarding the quality and safety of products that can endanger consumers. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is a fun way in the form of application in the food processing industry to guarantee and ensure the safety and quality of the products produced. The purpose of this community service is to conduct training application (Good Manufacturing Practices) of GMP on CV. Pawon Ibun in order to prepare for Food certification CV. Pawon Ibun is a business engaged in food processing that specifically produces MPASI for baby and toddlers. In addition to the aim of obtaining food certification, another objective of the training and assistance provided to workers is to provide an understanding of the importance of GMP and be able to apply it during the production process, so that CV. Pawon Ibun is able to produce safe and quality processed food. The research method used is a qualitative approach and survey methods are also used in data collection. Implementation starts from training, mentoring and also evaluation. Based on the survey results, it can be seen that the employees of CV. Most of Pawon Ibun did not know about and had not received training on GMP. And after receiving training, they are able to understand the concepts, objectives, and benefits of GMP and are able to apply them during the production process. That way, CV. Pawon Ibun is eligible to get GMP food certification.

Abstract

Education on HACCP conducted at CV. Pawon Ibun Tuban, East Java aims to provide basic capital in the implementation of HACCP. The activity was carried out from August to November with several stages of implementation. The methodology of implementing this training activity is by using a qualitative analysis in the form of a quiz given to CV. Pawon Ibun employees to measure the success rate of education that has been conducted. The steps taken to facilitate the implementation of educational activities on HACCP start from the preparation stage, implementation stage, evaluation stage and mentoring stage. The results of the methodology stages carried out in the form of questionnaire are the need for assistance in the intensive implementation of HACCP because there are several aspects that still need to be improved.

Abstract

Waste is one of the causes of environmental problems, especially plastic waste. Therefore, education is carried out regarding knowledge about waste and waste utilization to minimize the accumulation of plastic waste. The aim of this education is so that high school students have environmental awareness and are able to be creative in utilizing surrounding waste to make environmentally friendly products that have high economic value. This education was carried out using a presentation method regarding waste materials and examples of waste utilization, namely coconut fiber waste which has the potential to be used as a strengthening material in the manufacture of biodegradable plastic. The results of the education provided show that there has been an increase in understanding regarding waste and its use on the "sangat mengetahui" indicator of 86.67%.

Abstract

This article discusses assistance in writing scientific work for Religious Counselors at the Ministry of Religion of Mojokerto City, which was held on 13 – 14 May 2024 with a total of 27 people. Scientific writing is writing that discusses a problem based on the results of investigations, observations, data collection obtained from research (in the field or in the laboratory) or literature review which is based on logical and empirical scientific thinking (methods). Religious instructors have an important role in providing religious guidance to the community. The 2024 Religious Counselor Award is the right momentum to appreciate and encourage increasing the capacity of religious counselors in this matter. Therefore, this scientific writing assistance program was held to facilitate and guide religious instructors so that they can produce quality scientific papers. This mentoring methodology is carried out through several stages, namely: Basic Training: Providing basic training regarding scientific writing techniques, use of references, and the structure of scientific writing. Intensive Guidance: Provide intensive guidance through individual and group consultation sessions, discussing concepts, methodology and data analysis. Periodic Evaluation: Conduct periodic evaluations of the development of scientific papers being prepared by religious instructors. Completion of Work: Providing final input and corrections to improve scientific papers before submitting them in competitions. The activity of assisting scientific writing for religious instructors at the Mojokerto City Ministry of Religion is part of strengthening careers and performance which will later be prepared for the Extension Counselor Award level in 2024. From this mentoring process, religious instructors are expected to be able to strengthen soft and hard skills in the field of writing scientific papers
