Abstract

One of the contributors to the unemployment is from the Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan (WBP) including from Rutan Class II Buntok. In line with the function of RUTAN to prepare WBP to be able to integrate excellent social relationships with the community and to play a role as a free and responsible member of society, coaching and skills training for WBP were conducted. This mentoring activity aims to provide skills for WBP as carpenters in the construction business sector, especially in the South Barito district. The training applied the Service Learning (SL) method which was modified into Direct-Counter Apart Training (D-CAT), a model based on the assumption of limited time and togetherness caused by covid-19 and the status of WBP residents who have limited time to leave the room and in groups. The results showed that the WBP developed personal skills and were ready to enter the world of work, especially in the wood construction sector.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Petrokimia Gresik Volleyball Club’s female athletes have to do training from home (TFH). Unfortunately, this prolonged TFH has caused the athletes to experience a decrease in motivation and training goals. This community service aimed to increase the athletes’ achievement motivation through a Virtual Goal Setting Training (VGST). The methods used to facilitate the partners’ skill formation in designing SMART goal-setting were lecturing, coaching, individual, and group discussion. The achievement motivation was measured by Achievement Motivation Scale for Specialists of the Sport for All (AMSSSA) as well as by observation and interviews. The results revealed that VGST could increase not only the athlete’s skill in designing SMART goal setting but also their motivation to engage in the Training from Home (TFH) Program individually and in a group. Therefore, a well-structured VGST’s design can be an alternative to increase the athlete’s achievement motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

Pre-school education (TK) adheres to the principle of "playing while learning or learning while playing". Therefore, the learning activities should be carried out inside and outside the classroom or schoolyard. The use of the schoolyard as idle land plays an important role in the process of teaching and learning activities in early childhood education because it can be used as a target, facility, media, and learning resources that are based on the environment. The focus of this service is the development of community assets of TK Dharma Wanita 02 on the quality aspects of teacher human resources in utilizing the schoolyard as a medium and learning resource during the Covid-19 pandemic. The service method employs the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. This program results in the use of the school grounds at TK Dharma Wanita 02 as an alternative environmental-based media and learning resource to support learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The palm sugar farmers of Sukahurip Village Ciamis District had difficulty in diversifying their palm sugar into high value and quality products. They felt the need to increase the knowledge and skills of increasing production value and product diversification. Based on the problem, this community service carried out training with the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach in which the partners participate in activities carried out in partner locations. The team had succeeded in making a liquid palm sugar formulation that was suitable for use, which previously was the main obstacle experienced by the partners. The results of the focus group discussion (FGD) show that the partners will continue to evaluate the diversification of palm sugar products to maintain the best quality in the hope that they will export the products and become superior to partner villages. The partners will also market the products to a wider community and follow-up from the Ciamis district government and the province.
