Abstract

The closure of Bangunsari prostitution localization had a major impact on the economic point of view and lives of the social community in the Bangunsari area and its surroundings. The efforts carried out by Surabaya City Government in providing severance pay and skills training to ex-localization of the prostitution community have not yet restored their economic conditions. The purpose of this community service is to improve the economic independence of the affected community members through strengthening their self capacity. The method used in this community service is the Asset-Based Community-driven Development (ABCD) approach. The results of this Community Service are that the community members: can finally be economically independent by developing assets through the culinary, able to market the product through social media, develop participation in community service programs that have been held, and live a better social life after the closure of prostitution localization at Bangunsari.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Amanah is one of the SME groups that processes cassava into tradisional snacks of West Sumatra. Most products are sold wholesale, do not have labels and packaging, so the selling price is lower than the market price. The lack of knowledge of group members about the importance of product packaging and labels still an obstacle. The purpose of this community dedication is to provide awareness to the KWT Amanah community about the importance of labels and packaging in increasing product added value. In addition, the implementation team provided assistance in arranging P-IRT. The method used is trainning, discussion, observation and demonstration. This counseling activity provides insight and knowledge that can motivate KWT Amanah to make decisions in choosing the type of packaging used. This community dedication program are improves value added products through label designs, increase members knowledge and create the products selling value for partner.

Abstract

The feed is the main ingredient in livestock breeding. The selection of good feed will increase livestock productivity. Many feeds can be made from waste such as tofu residue. Tofu residue is agro-industrial waste from tofu making process. The feed for goats/sheep provided by breeders in Deli Tua Village, Namorambe district, Deli Serdang regency, dominantly utilizes green grass. So it is necessary to make the alternative animal feed based on tofu residue by adding microorganisms such as Aspergillus niger and Rhizopus oryzae in the fermentation process. This community service applied the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. The results show that the community members have succeeded in making fermented feed. The program not only increases the member’s skills but also livestock productivity both in terms of quality and quantity

Abstract

The implementation of online learning under the Minister of Education and Culture Circular No. 4 of 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic caused new problems. 76% of 25 parents in grade I primary schools in Sugihrejo village had difficulty assisting children in learning numeracy material. Training on the preparation of manual counting media (ALHIMA) is an absolute effort to improve the quality of parent learning assistance on numeracy material. By using the service-learning method, this service is proven to be able to improve the quality of parent learning assistance on numeracy material which is characterized by new skills that parents have, including knowing the importance of using learning media, mastering the concept of addition and subtraction, using ALHIMA media for assistance in learning counting material, and being aware of the importance of providing the best assistance for children's academic success.

Abstract

The problems faced by the local industry in Sidomukti Village start from sales decline and demand turnover and conventional marketing method. The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) is to provide an understanding of the meaning and concept of the marketplace, the benefits and advantages of marketing through the marketplace, how the marketplace works, the manufacturing process, how to register and create a shop in an online store (market) and to increase production through the marketplace. The method applied was service learning which includes three stages, namely the preparation, presentation, and reflection stages. The Community Service results in providing understanding to local industry players in the Sidomukti village about marketing and selling products through the marketplace, as well as being able to create an online shop, promote their products through the marketplace and increase in sales by 10% of products from local industries being marketed in several marketplaces.

Abstract

Solo is an area with a high level of diversity, in terms of ethnicity, culture and religion. Besides of being known as the center of Javanese culture, Solo is also noted to have a high level of intensity of radical-extremism movements. Various efforts to prevent the increasing strong currents of extreme-radicalism are also important to be done. Islamic literacy for courteous and tolerant movement is one of form to prevent extreme-radicalism movement. This program is carried out with a model of direct assistance to millennial Muslim groups in the context of campaigning for a courteous and tolerant Islam. By involving millennial Muslim groups from the high school to university level, this program seeks to prevent the spread of radical-extreme movements among young people in Soloraya area. The mentoring process is carried out through several stages, starting from deepening various authoritative sources on courteous and tolerant Islamic values ​​through the santri camp to public campaigning in the Solo car free day arena. The results show that millennial Muslim groups in Soloraya have succeeded in campaigning for the values ​​of courteousness and tolerance in Islam in a variety of creative ways so as to demonstrate the importance of a tolerant voice in the midst of the image of Solo which is perceived as the basis for the extreme-radical groups movement.

Abstract

COVID-19 has become a global health problem and is declared a pandemic since December 2019. Indonesia is in the 4th highest population density in the world. The level of spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia may be more than in other countries with smaller populations. South East Sulawesi has confirmed 484 COVID-19 cases. One area with the highest number of patients is Bombana Regency. This community service was carried out by lecturers and students from Halu Oleo University which aimed to strengthen the role of the people of Bombana Regency in mitigating and adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic. The activities included education and socialization of GEMAS, antiseptics, and disinfectants which were carried out offline (door to door) and online, as well as the distribution of masks and spray hand sanitizer for free. This program is hoped to increase public knowledge and awareness in using masks, antiseptics, and disinfectants properly to face the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The lack of open communication between parents and children triggers adolescents to engage in deviant behavior, including premarital sex. This activity aims to improve the knowledge and communication skills of BKR members regarding adolescent reproductive health as an effort to reduce the incidence of unwanted pregnancy and early marriage in Padukuhan Mertosanan Kulon, Potorono Village. The interventions provided were in the form of counseling and roleplay as well as discussion of case studies related to adolescent reproductive health. Based on the results of the intervention, knowledge about reproductive health increased, participants were skilled in solving problems in case studies and were able to practice health communication to adolescents. It is very important to carry out regular adolescent reproductive health education activities for BKR members.

Abstract

Information literacy is required to filter all information obtained in order to ensure that the data obtained is truly valid and accountable. Pesantren Misbahul Qur'an, which is proficient in tahfidz and tafsir, pays special attention to students' potential development by providing a schedule of Scientific Literacy activities. It is hoped that the students will be able to improve their ability to recognize when information is required. The Participatory Learning Methods approach is used to deliver this service. The activity has four stages: (1) identification (initial mapping) and material delivery planning, (2) socialization, (3) actualization (material delivery, practice assignment, and presentation), and (4) evaluation and reflection. The results of the service show that students in an Islamic boarding school environment have limited media literacy and have not fully utilized digital in full; the literacy schedule is more towards the search for information that is entertainment in between the busy schedule of activities and targets of memorizing throughm literacy through books and partly utilizing internet media; and the literacy schedule is more towards the search for information that is entertainment in between the busy schedule of activities and targets of memorizing throughm literacy through books and partly utilizing internet media

Abstract

The COVID 19 pandemic has had a big effect on Indonesia's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including changes in people's buying power, turnover, SME output, and numerous other unprofitable changes, especially in Purbalingga SMEs. This community service is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the superior products of Purbalingga Regency through increasing the value of products in Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) of Batik, Bamboo, and Sculpture Crafts. The program was carried out by counseling and mentoring methods, by utilizing technology efficiency, training in the use of tools, and optimization of partnerships. The results achieved include the successful implementation of new strategies to survive in new normal conditions, starting from changing the function of the product, carrying out the collaboration between batik, bamboo and wood craftsmen, and more intensive online marketing, collaborating, implementing creativity and innovation that increase product value, so that the turnover and quality of superior products increases and has high competitiveness.
