Abstract

Digital media can support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) businesses to increase brand awareness of their products, so they can gain competitive advantages and reach a broader market. Unfortunately, not all MSME businesses have the capabilities to utilize digital media to support their businesses. The MSMEs in Buah Batu district face problems that can not be resolved by conventional marketing methods, such as lack of brand awareness and drop in sales which results in the decrease of their revenues and profits. This Community Service aims to improve the MSME's knowledge and skills on creative digital marketing strategy and their understanding of the marketplace so they can create online stores for their businesses. Online stores make it feasible for those MSMEs to broaden their market reach. For the problems related to the IT area, the team will provide network training. The method applied was the service-learning approach. The results of this community service are that the MSMEs in Buah Batu District are capable to create their online shops, promote their products through the marketplace and social media and finally increase their revenues. The output of these community service activities is the design of MSME product packaging and website.

Abstract

As an agricultural-based village, wives in Mojorejo village located in Ponorogo, East Java have been supporting the family income from occasional production of bamboo handicrafts, e.g., ‘besek’, ‘tumbu’, and ‘rinjing’ for generations. Despite its great potential, this bamboo handicraft is still produced individually with one family produced only one type of product, resulting in low economical impact for the family and the village. This community service program aimed to establish a ‘bamboo handicraft center’ with the final goal of increasing the income of the community in Mojorejo Village. This community service program employs a participatory rural appraisal (PRA) approach, which in the implementation of the program, several methods were used, in the form of focus group discussions, training, technology introduction, counseling, and mentoring. As a result of this community development program, the community's economy has increased through the development of new products and management of the micro-businesses from production to marketing

Abstract

The atmosphere of the COVID 19 pandemic changed the pattern of community service. In this case the Door to Door method is the best choice. The area of ​​training is Way Huwi Village because of high economic growth. The principle of this method is that the speakers come to people's houses with the aim of disseminating the results of their research. The case study conducted in order to identify groundwater well specifically for drinking purposes. This method will be better applied if previous research has been done. The results of the training show that the community can only distinguish water quality based on physicality alone. We need train the community so they can understand the principles of water for drinking purpose. The community response was very good with the many questions asked. This might be different if done in a room with many participants

Abstract

The purpose of community service activities is to improve the economy of the Banyubiru village community by making the Banyubiru village a resilience-based agro-tourism village. The method of implementing this activity was through the development of an educational vehicle, namely a maze of maize vehicle, a tomato picking vehicle, a hide-and-seek vehicle, a fishing mania vehicle and an animal feeding vehicle. All of these rides are carried out with community empowerment through mentoring and counseling. The method of implementing this activity is carried out using the learning community approach. The subjects of this activity were only selected by 50 communities, namely 25 men and 25 women. All of them are over 20 years old and less than 50 years old. The results of the implementation of community service activities indicate that there is an increase in community economic income. This can be seen from the addition of tourists in the past month. Every week the number of tourists rises 5%, from the number of visitors there. The response from tourists was 87% from the results of the interviews we had done. The results of tourist responses show very good results for tourists who visit. Furthermore, the results of observations on food security awareness of 75%, this means that the villagers are included in the good category and already know how to manage natural resources into agro-tourism villages based on food security.

Abstract

Beji Village, Junrejo Sub-District of Batu City has been known as “Kampung Tempe” as most of the people produce tempe. Active participation from universities is definitely important to assist the production of “tempe” in Beji village. This assistance program is aimed to enhance the production of “ tempe” to optimize the production yield, time-efficiency and hygiene which also generate adequate profits. The target subjects of this social assistance program was the group of SMSE “tempe” active businessmen in “Kampung Tempe”. The program included assistance in producing “Tempe” using Glucono Delta-Lactone method. This technology was expected to be the solution to address problems related to inconsistent quality due to the use of traditional method without reducing the taste and quality. This program was administered as a training program which included advisory, demonstration and independent assistance. The results of this research showed that the program successfully improved subjects’ knowledge on the use of more efficient method which produced “tempe” with better quality within shorter time, making the cash flow more efficient

Abstract

Microentrepreneurs activities contribute to economic growth and social empowerment. KOTA PELANGI is one of women’s microentrepreneurs community that actively works to empower women in South Jakarta. Nevertheless, this community faces problems and limitations. The objective of this study is to design proper training and coaching as a solutions of those problems. The activities were conducted by data and information collections, field survey, observation, exploration, and design of the program. Results showed that more than 50% of community members work in the food business area. There are five priority problems faced by this community: marketing strategy, product quality and innovation, capital, equipment and facilities, employee and business management, business certification, and packaging. The model designed to solve each problem by training, coaching, and monitoring which is supported by various programs. The programs designed to solve the problems and increase the knowledge of community members, so they can manage their business better.

Abstract

Competitiveness enhancement of the dried three spot gourami producers in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province was undertaken, because they are the least beneficiaries of the business system that has been run for generations. The competitiveness was developed through improvement of the production technology, managerial, and business culture. Technology enhancement was achieved by improving the drying method, product diversification, quality improvement, packaging improvement, and labeling. Managerial aspects developed included management in finance, resources, and marketing. Cultural development was focused on social behavior, namely education on the importance of investment and financial management so that the revenue obtained can be used as business assets again. Those efforts have effectively improved the indicators of business competitiveness, namely increasing income, increasing product added value, increasing innovation and creativity, raising awareness of quality, increasing managerial ability, and improving attitudes and enthusiasm for continuous improvement

Abstract

Ngebel is known as one of the centers for durian fruit in Ponorogo, and is known as Kampung Durian. Durian skin waste that has not been utilized. Through the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach the team of this community service has assisted to make use of durian skin waste to become organic fertilizer to supplements the durian crops. Through the construction of the composter house and technology transfer support program for the processing of durian skin waste into organic fertilizer, the results showed that the people of Kampung Durian village were able to make organic fertilizer with good quality standards. The organic fertilizer products have been tested on durian crops, so that they can increase the production and quality of durian fruit, increase the capacity of the Karang Asri Farmer Group in Kampung Durian to use local resources and increase the capacity to cultivate and process durian skin waste.

Abstract

Teachers and students need more knowledge to improve their competence. The educational quality can be improved by varying learning methods and supported by competition. This community service activity aims to strengthen the competence of teachers and students through learning innovation in the Biology subject and to provide learning competition of Biology Olympiad through simulation and training. The community-based research (CBR) method was performed by workshop and training involving 60 participants. As many as 100% of the participants attended the activities. The results indicated that the participants acquired new knowledge and realized their competence skills. Learning innovation and competition were able to improve their knowledge and competence. The participants are eager to apply the methods learned at school. These new competence and skill are expected to improve the quality of education

Abstract

Finance is one of the important aspects in determining the sustainability and credibility of political parties, and will indirectly affect the political quality of a country. For this reason, transparency in the financial management of political parties is required in accordance with applicable regulations. However, some cadres of political party administrators in the regions have difficulty in compiling accountability reports because they do not have an educational background in accounting. For this reason, assistance is needed to compile a simple accountability report with the help of a general cash book that is easy to understand and practical. The results of the activity showed that the preparation of the general ledger was able to increase participants' understanding of the procedures for preparing accountability reports more easily even though they did not previously have basic knowledge of accounting.
