Abstract

The lack of leadership development and moral values among students can result in deviant behaviors such as verbal and physical violence, and even substance abuse. This underscores the importance of character development and leadership among students. In this context, effective communication between teachers and students becomes crucial in addressing these challenges. This study aims to explore how teachers at SM Sekolah Alam Bogor communicate to instill leadership in their students. This research use qualitative method, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings suggest that various forms of communication patterns need to be applied to strengthen and complement the communication process between teachers and students. The implementation of leadership is found in various communication processes, whether through regular interactions, assigning tasks, classroom learning, or outdoor trips. Research also found that leadership qualities are present as evidenced by the impact shown by their senior students (SM 3).

Abstract

The use of computer technology as an information technology tool for companies provides added value to the data processing process, the existence of information technology is also very useful for companies to facilitate performance in daily activities, especially as support in PLN official correspondence, both internal and external correspondence, starting from Service Notes, Letters, Special Form Letters and Legal Products. To keep up with technological advances, PT PLN (Persero) uses the Corporate Mail Management Application (AMS) to support business processes that provide an advantage for the company in achieving its goals. By using this application, PLN can manage letters automatically as well as manage electronic archives which benefits employees, thereby increasing the satisfaction of users of the application. User satisfaction with system performance is a benchmark for implementing information technology. This research uses the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) method to determine user satisfaction of the Mail Management Application (AMS) at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Palembang. The factors used in the EUCS method include Content, Format, Accuracy, Ease of Use, and Timeliness. Data collection was carried out by conducting a survey of 120 employees of PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Palembang, the results of which were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Version 25 application.

Abstract

Face recognition has become a key technology in improving the efficiency and security of modern employee attendance systems. This study compares the performance of three pre-trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models - VGG16, ResNet50, and InceptionV3 - in the context of face recognition for employee attendance systems. The study evaluated the accuracy, consistency, and generalization of the models on a dataset of employee faces, using prediction accuracy, confusion matrix, and classification report measurement methods. Results showed InceptionV3 performed best overall, with high consistency and confidence, achieving up to 99% accuracy on the test data. ResNet50 showed consistent performance in some cases but required further fine-tuning, while VGG16 showed the worst performance. These findings have significant practical implications for the industry, recommending the use of InceptionV3 for the implementation of reliable face recognition-based attendance systems, with consideration of the use of confidence thresholds to optimize accuracy. This research also highlights the importance of further optimization, including hyperparameter fine-tuning and more sophisticated data augmentation strategies, to improve system performance under various work environment conditions.

Abstract

New media is a communication channel that brings about change by disseminating information through texts published by authors. Because text is a form of ideological practice, language, style, word choice, and grammatical structure, it is understood as a decision that has a certain ideological meaning in order to gain public support. This research aims to analyze Rocky Gerung's freedom of speech on the Rocky Gerung Official YouTube channel and how discourse practices take place on YouTube as a virtual space. This research was carried out to examine virtual media. Using a critical paradigm, this research is descriptive-qualitative using critical discourse analysis methods. Using Norman Fairclough's thinking, at the macro-level analysis, there are linguistic elements used that are philosophical, straightforward, and rich in meaning using metaphors. At the micro level, there is the use of special terminology in the world of politics, government, and philosophy. As well as using intertextual patterns, there is consistency between one sentence and another. At the meso level of analysis, researchers create relationships between characters or participants involved in the text in this research.

Abstract

Building an image is a vital endeavor for companies to survive in today's industry competition. This research focuses on the Public Relations strategy of PC. GKBI in creating a positive image. The research objective is to identify the Public Relations strategy of PC. GKBI in the formation of a positive image. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with analysis based on Philip Kotler's Public Relations mix theory, namely the PENCILS strategy. The findings show that PC. GKBI has successfully implemented the PENCILS strategy in building a positive image, although the implementation of Publications and News has not been carried out optimally. It is expected that Public Relations can improve media management so that information dissemination is more massive.

Abstract

Public street lighting (PJU) is essential infrastructure for nighttime security. This research develops an automatic PJU control system based on IoT using light and motion sensors with an ESP32 microcontroller. The system allows for PJU lamp control via a website, providing high flexibility for users. The ESP32 microcontroller is connected to a PIR sensor to detect motion. When the sensor detects movement, the intensity of the PJU lamps is increased, and when no movement is detected, the light intensity is reduced to save energy. Users can control the PJU lamps from any internet-connected device. Testing results show an increase in energy efficiency, with an average power consumption reduction of 13.77 watts and an efficiency increase of 42.67%. An R-squared value of 0.629 indicates that the model is quite good at explaining the variability in power consumption data. This system can automatically turn on street lights and be monitored in real-time, And hopes to contribute to the development of smarter and more efficient street lighting systems.

Abstract

Meeting environmental challenges necessitates the exploration of new and inventive solutions. The Environmental Quality Index (IKLH) report revealed an uptick in Indonesia's index to 72.42 in 2022 from 71.45 in 2021, despite a worsening air quality trend. Acknowledging the importance of Human Resource Management and "Go Green" education in promoting environmental consciousness, this paper proposes the adoption of Laravel for expeditious handling of environmental issues at UKSW. Through the utilization of the Waterfall model and UML methodology, the system integrates MVC architecture, streamlining the process of environmental problem reporting for students. Rigorous Black Box Testing ensures the seamless functionality of the system. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to fortify the university's environmental stewardship while advancing the Go Green campaign, thereby fostering a campus environment that is both pristine and sustainable.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and describe how the communication strategy of stunting prevention efforts by Palaran Health Center. The formulation of communication strategies uses Onong Uchjana Effendy’s research focus and Campaign Communication Theory. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which aims to explain in detail and in depth. The results of the research conducted by researchers can be concluded that the communication strategy for preventing stunting by the Palaran Health Center is to recognize the target being of communication directly based on data obtained from the posyandu with the target being productive women and adolescents. Indirectly based on followers who are friends and have followed the social media belonging to the Palaran Health Center. Selection of communication media directly by socializing to schools and communities, while indirectly using social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Website and print media such as Leaflets, Banners and Posters. Assessment of the purpose of communication messages based on vision and mission. The role of communicators in communication based on criteria including doctors, nutritionists, health promotion, midwives and nurses.

Abstract

Onboarding is crucial to help new employees quickly adapt, understand their tasks, and become productive. This research addresses onboarding issues in the IT Service & Business Partner department of PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, particularly for Non-Organic Workers (TKNO), which are currently unstructured and inefficient. The proposed solution is implementing knowledge management through a Laravel-based guide website that provides clear and structured guidelines, enabling self-learning and access to information anytime. Two phases from the 10-step knowledge management roadmap are used to complete the research: infrastructure evaluation, and knowledge management design & development analysis. The prototyping method was used in system development, including problem identification, implementation, testing, and evaluation. Results show that this website improves orientation efficiency and facilitates information delivery. BlackBox testing confirms all features function as expected, making this system likely to facilitate onboarding and knowledge transfer within the company.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing electronic medical records (RME) in enhancing the effectiveness of medical recorders' work at Hasna Medika Hospital, Cirebon. The qualitative method was employed, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and literature review. The results indicate that the implementation of RME at Hasna Medika Hospital, Cirebon, is sufficiently effective in terms of security, data integrity, and availability. Additionally, RME has reduced the workload for medical recorders and accelerated the medical recording process. However, challenges such as server disruptions and discrepancies between service indicator outputs and manual calculations were identified. To address these issues, the hospital needs to refine the RME system according to user requirements to further enhance the effectiveness of medical recorders.
