The focus discussion of the journal is highlighting aspects related to Islamic Education and Religious. The journal is published biannually in June and December. This journal is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge for the user or his/her institution, and allowing anyone to submit research results in the form of articles directly. Abstract

Islamic banks are based on the philosophy of the Islamic economic system, have a variety of financial products and financial services available to the public, offering the right alternative choice for all interested parties to conduct business according to the rules of Islamic Sharia. including the provision of financing and profit-sharing financing. Sharia principles prohibit carrying out financial activities that include usury, maisyir, gharar, and buying and selling haram goods. In the process of profit sharing between customers and banks, the percentage between the two parties or mudharabah contract is based on the mudharabah contract used by Islamic Banks and UUS to raise funds for deposits, savings or other forms of investment. There is no interest system or compound interest in the Islamic banking system. In return, banks offer profit sharing based on the company's financials.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate Jean Jacques Rousseau's thoughts on education and its implications in modern educational practices. Rousseau advocated for an education that emphasizes freedom, authenticity, and the natural happiness of human beings. The research method used is the analysis of Rousseau's primary texts, such as "Emile" and "The Social Contract", as well as related literature studies. This research method uses a literature review. The results show that Rousseau emphasizes the importance of education that accommodates the natural human nature and returns humans to their original natural state. The implications of Rousseau's thoughts on modern education highlight the importance of an educational approach that frees humans from evil and returns them to their original nature or natural human beings. This research contributes to understanding the concept of natural education from Rousseau's perspective and explains its relevance in the context of contemporary education.

Abstract

Saat ini banyak sekali didapati praktik muamalah yang tidak sesuai dengan etika dan norma-norma agama, seperti korupsi, suap, penipuan, dan yang lainnya. Hal ini diperparah dengan perilaku dan karakter manusia, khususnya masyarakat di Indonesia yang agak menyepelekan praktik-praktik terlarang tersebut dan terkesan menganggapnya hal biasa. Maka daripada itu, perlu adanya suatu usaha untuk memperbaikinya, salah satunya adalah dengan pembentukan karakter dalam bermuamalah sejak dini. Pembentukan karakter yang dimaksud yaitu dengan pendidikan secara terancana, untuk menumbuhkan akhlak dan moral yang luhur di masa yang akan datang. Beberapa prinsip dasar muamalah yang harus dihindari dalam praktiknya seperti Maysir, gharar, haram, dhulm/zhulm, ihtikar, riba, dan risywah yang disingkat dengan MAGHADIR. Adapun pendidikan karakter yang dimaksud adalah usaha sadar dan terencana dalam membentuk pribadi manusia yang memiliki pengetahuan, perasaan dan tindakan moral dalam kehidupannya sehari-hari. Harapannya, pendidikan karakter mengenai muamalah sejak dini akan membentuk manusia yang ber-akhaqul karimah ketika ia dewasa dan memahami tentang aturan-aturan di dalam bermuamalah. Berdasarkan konfigurasi karakter dalam konteks totalitas proses psikologis dan sosial-kultural yang dikelompokkan ke dalam olah hati, olah pikir, olah raga dan kinestetik, dan olah rasa dan karsa, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara implementasi pelarangan MAGHADIR dengan pendidikan karakter itu sendiri. Hal ini merujuk pada pemahaman mengenai MAGHADIR yang merupakan bagian yang tidak bisa dilepas dari konsep pendidikan karakter dengan keimanan dan ketakwaan. Kenyataannya, pendidikan karakter yang dipadukan dengan pendidikan Islam, akan memberikan kontribusi pada seluruh aspek kehidupan, termasuk di dalamnya aspek ruhani. Oleh karena itu, pengenalan MAGHADIR dalam pendidikan karakter sejak usia dini seharusnya dapat memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap perkembangan karakter individu di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

The history of Indonesian Islamic civilization began in the 7th century AD. Arab, Persian and Indian traders who traded in the Indonesian archipelago brought Islam there. Although there is no in-depth written evidence of how Islam entered Indonesia, it probably happened gradually through cultural interactions and trade. Ulama play an important role in spreading Islamic teachings in Indonesia. They not only teach religion, but also play an important role in shaping the social and cultural norms of society. The processes of Islamization and acculturation often occur simultaneously, resulting in a special cultural richness in Indonesia. The spread of Islam to Islamic kingdoms, such as the Kingdom of Aceh in Sumatra and the Sultanate of Demak in Java, became the center for the spread of Islam in the surrounding areas. This is an important historical milestone in the spread of Islam in Indonesia. These kingdoms became centers of religion, trade and culture. Islam continued to play an important role in fighting colonialism throughout the colonial period. Islamic values often served as inspiration for anti-colonial movements, and ulama played an important role in leading these movements. Islam's contribution to the formation of the state and society continued to grow after Indonesia's independence in 1945. Until now, Islam remains an integral part of the lives of Indonesian people. The diversity of cultures and ethnicities in Indonesia is reflected in the various Islamic religious practices that exist. Even though Indonesia has a Muslim majority, the values of inter-religious tolerance are also a characteristic of Islamic civilization in this country. The history of Islamic civilization in Indonesia is proof that Islam is able to integrate with local culture, creating harmony in diversity.

Abstract

Dalam dunia Arab, salah satu pemerhati bahasa Arab yang telah berusaha untuk mengkodifikasikan kata dan istilah bahasa Arab kontemporer adalah Dr. Muhammad Muhammad Dawud, sebagaimana tertuang dalam Kitabnya yang berjudul Lughawiyyat Muhdatsah Fi Al-‘Arabiyyah Al-Mu’ashiroh. Dalam tulisan ini penulis mencoba mendeskripsikan isi dari kitab tersebut terutama mengenai leksikon Arab kontemporer, yakni kumpulan kata atau istilah Arab kontemporer; apa saja kata-kata dan istilah-istilah tersebut, dan bagaimana kata-kata dan istilah –istilah tersebut dibentuk. Di bagian awal penulis mengulas secara sekilas seputar leksikologi, serta mengulas tujuan dan teknik penyusunan Kitab Lughawiyyat Muhdatsah Fi Al-‘Arabiyyah Al-Mu’ashiroh agar tampak keutuhan dari tulisan ini. Namun, penulis tidak mengulas biografi Dr. Muhammad Muhammad Dawud karena di samping tidak menjadi fokus kajian dalam tulisan ini, juga karena kesulitan penulis untuk melacak biografinya.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the various perspectives in Islamic education theories through doctrinal-normative, philosophical, sociological, anthropological, psychological, and historical approaches. Utilizing qualitative content analysis methods, this research examines the depth of Islamic education theory based on primary sources such as the Qur'an and Hadith, as well as their interpretations and implementations in the context of contemporary education. From a philosophical approach, this study investigates educational principles aimed at stimulating human intellectual and spiritual capabilities. Meanwhile, the sociological approach discusses the interaction of Islamic education with social dynamics, the anthropological approach focuses on cultural aspects, the psychological approach explores the development of personality and emotions, and the historical approach examines the evolution of educational practices in Islamic history. The findings of this study provide a multidimensional understanding of Islamic education that can serve as a reference for the development of curricula and teaching methods that align with Islamic values and the needs of modern society. The development of Islamic education theories should be holistic or comprehensive in order to educate human resources that are of high quality both scientifically and in terms of personality, as well as to promote a good quality of social life.

Abstract

The definition of leadership reflects the assumption that leadership involves a deliberate process of someone emphasizing their strong influence over others to guide, organize, and facilitate activities, group dynamics, and relationships or demonstrate similarities. With this in mind, this article describes the leadership of Muhammad al-Fatih, the conqueror of Constantinople, as an inspiration for modern young Islamic leaders. This study uses a qualitative approach and a literature review process. The researchers searched for information from various reference sources in the form of documents and then analyzed and described the information. Based on the results of the discussion, Muhammad Al-Fatih is an inspiration for a perfect leader, as a leader who has a spirit of perseverance and discipline in conquering the fortress of Constantinople, and has a very high level of fortitude and belief. In addition, Muhammad Al-Fatih is an intelligent leader in all fields, always seeking knowledge and having a spirit of perseverance, and a leader with strong faith that nothing can be achieved without the help of Allah SWT.

Abstract

Tulisan ini berupaya memetakan pemikiran Mu’allim Tsani tentang pondok pesantren sehingga lahirlah pondok pesantren al-Falah yang dimulai dari paradigma pondok pesantren yang dibangun oleh Mu’allim Tsani dalam menghadapi perubahan. Menurut Mu’allim Tsani, pesantren harus mampu berperan di dua lingkup; pertama, di lingkup tertutup atau terbatas pada pondok pesantren itu sendiri, yaitu pesantren harus mampu melahirkan kader-kadernya sehingga tidak terjadi missing link, dan kedua, pondok pesantren harus berperan dalam lingkup sosial sehingga bisa memberikan konstribusi secara langsung kepada masyarakat. Kedua peran ini boleh dikatakan sebagai paradigma pendidikan di pondok pesantren, yang dalam sisi praksisnya dapat dirangkum dengan istilah ilmu dan amal. Landasan paradigmatis ini memberikan warna tersendiri bagi turunannya termasuk dalam menghadapi arus modernitas dan perannya sebagai counter moral.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of Paul Ricoeur's theory of interpretation within the context of Qur'anic studies. Set against the backdrop of longstanding hermeneutical debates in the study of sacred texts, Ricoeur's work, which emphasizes the dialogue between text and reader, offers a fresh perspective on traditional approaches to the exegesis of the Qur'an. Employing a qualitative approach and in-depth literary review, this research articulates Ricoeur's hermeneutic framework and identifies key elements that can be implemented in the analysis of Qur'anic texts. The findings suggest that Ricoeur's hermeneutics open up possibilities for multi-dimensional interpretation, in which the Qur'an is understood not only within the horizon of its historical context and original milieu but also within the context of the modern reader's reality. Moreover, this study highlights the potential for interfaith dialogue through the ethical and philosophical principles in Ricoeur's theory, bringing methodological renewal to Qur'anic studies and facilitating more inclusive discussions. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of dynamic exegesis methods and to enrich the hermeneutical discourse in contemporary Islamic studies.
