The purpose of this paper was to perform verification regarding the will of the Prophet. This study used the approach of hadith science as well as historical analysis to read the available data related to the will of the Prophet. After the research was performed, it was found a conclusion that the Prophet never delegated leadership in a ṣāriḥ way (decisively) to anyone. As for the thing, he firmly bequeathed at the end of his life were (1) to expel Jews, Christians, and polytheists from the Arabian Peninsula and 2) to treat delegates as best as they can. As for the third point, there were those who conclude: a) bequeathing the Quran; b) to send Osama troops; c) to keep the prayers and slaves they had; d) not to make his grave as a place of prayer.

Abstract

This paper is devoted to the Preparation for Learning Towards Normal Era. It's been 18 months during the COVID-19 pandemic, there are many ways that educational institutions have done to keep learning going, such as implementing online learning and offline learning. Now it's no longer about thinking about the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of learning both online and offline, everyone has to think about how to prepare for normal learning to return to the way it was before covid 19. This research is a literature study with a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The results of the study found that the implementation of the normal era in Indonesia reaped many pros and cons how not many people urged that the implementation of the normal era be carried out immediately but in its implementation it needed a mature plan. The joint decision of the four ministers provides a bright spot and hope for educational institutions to implement normal learning. Of course, there are many considerations and policies that must be taken in carrying out normal learning again. Because the conditions of one area with other areas are different. If the condition of the area is included in the green zone, it can carry out learning activities in the classroom. The government gives time for schools to prepare health protocol facilities at schools, such as hand washing stations, hand sanitizers, classroom arrangements, spraying disinfectants, as well as scheduling teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the acculturation and assimilation processes that ethnic Chinese in West Sumatra undergo upon converting to Islam, that the conversion does not lead to an outright abandonment of traditions. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive analysis approach, this research underscores how religious conversion fundamentally alters an individual's worldview and behavior. Converts to Islam are encouraged to earnestly learn and adhere to Sharia and Islamic teachings, initiating their spiritual journey with religious observances and distancing themselves from practices associated with their former beliefs. However, the conversion process is significantly influenced by one's environment, which plays a pivotal role in shaping the assimilation and acculturation experience of ethnic Chinese Muslims. This environment encompasses both familial and social contexts. The family environment, where individuals are connected by kinship—whether as children, spouses, or other familial roles—is marked by intensive interaction and communication. Yet, this close-knit communication does not necessarily guarantee a seamless conversion to another faith. Beyond the family, the surrounding social environment, including the workplace, extended family, and broader societal interactions, also impacts the conversion journey. Within these spheres, various factors either facilitate or hinder the process of embracing Islam for ethnic Chinese individuals. This study delves into these dynamics, examining the multifaceted influences on religious conversion and the subsequent negotiation between maintaining cultural heritage and adopting new religious identities. Through this analysis, the research seeks to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between religion, culture, and identity among ethnic Chinese Muslims in West Sumatra

Abstract

This research endeavors to comprehensively investigate three pivotal dimensions pertaining to the governmental policy implementation aimed at mitigating terrorism in the province of West Java. The methodology adopted for this research employs a mixed-methods approach that amalgamates a thorough literature review with rigorous field research, underpinned by an analytical descriptive framework. Furthermore, this study employs a multifaceted analytical lens, drawing from political, theological, and anthropological perspectives to comprehensively analyze and interpret the collected data. The research findings underscore a pervasive atmosphere of intolerance in West Java, accompanied by a heightened susceptibility to radical ideologies, extremist actions, and terrorism-related radicalism. These findings shed light on the intricate cultural nuances that shape the identity of West Java residents. The empirical investigation conducted across six distinct regencies and cities (namely, Sukabumi Regency, Sukabumi City, Cianjur Regency, Kuningan Regency, Indramayu Regency, and Cirebon City) within West Java, which serve as the focal points of this research, consistently reveal a glaring absence of specialized counterterrorism policies within the region. In essence, this lacuna underscores a notable deficit in the implementation of counterterrorism strategies. Instead, the predominant policy landscape in each of the aforementioned regencies and cities is characterized by a convergence with the overarching principles of the Homeland Defense and National Insight programs. These programs, conceived as flagship initiatives under the purview of the provincial Kesbangpol (National Unity and Political Affairs Agency), are similarly embedded within the Kesbangpol structures at the regional level. Consequently, within the context of this research, the Homeland Defense and National Insight policies emerge as policy instruments that are categorically associated with counterterrorism efforts in West Java.

Thematic interpretation was used as the analytical technique. The results indicate that the Prophet's communication principles are as follows: First, using striking words (qawlan balīghā). Second, we selected easily digestible words (qawlan maysūrā). Third, noble words (qawlan karīmā) were used. Fourth are constructive words (qawulan ma'rūfā). Fifth, using gentle words (qawulan layyinā). The Prophet's communication strategy prioritizes deliberation in solving problems. The conclusion from the research proves that the principles and communication strategies of the Prophet Muhammad in conveying God's message, as outlined in the Qur'an, are essential elements for the success of his mission. This study recommends further research on other critical elements supporting the success of prophetic preaching based on Quranic verses

Abstract

This research aims to explore the application of the Tablighi Jamaah’s da’wah in increasing the spirituality of Muslims in Baja Dolok Village, Sipispis District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research explores in depth social and religious phenomena related to preaching patterns and their influence on people’s spiritual lives. A sociology of religion approach is used to analyze the factors that influence the effectiveness of the Tablighi Jamaah’s da’wah in this region. Research data was collected through observation techniques and in-depth interviews with members of the Tablighi Jamaah, religious leaders and the local community. The research results show that the Tablighi Jamaah applies a unique da’wah approach, namely through the method of home visits (khuruj), religious discussions, and direct interactions in daily life. This approach has succeeded in increasing public awareness of the importance of practicing worship consistently and building a closer relationship with Allah. Apart from that, the Tablighi Jamaah’s preaching emphasizes real examples and the simplicity of living in accordance with Islamic teachings. The positive impact of this method can be seen in significant changes in the mindset and behavior of people who are more religious. However, this research also found challenges in implementing the Tablighi Jamaah’s da’wah, including negative assumptions from some communities, weak internal support in amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, as well as economic and geographical obstacles that influence the success of da’wah. However, the Tablighi Jamaah’s personal approach and consistency in preaching succeeded in overcoming most of these obstacles.

This study used descriptive qualitative methods with a religious anthropological approach. This approach was chosen to view religion as a social phenomenon that reflects identity, values, and symbols in the community. The research used a descriptive qualitative method. The approach used is religious anthropology, which aims to understand religious traditions in Tanjung Medan Village as a part of the social and cultural life of the local community. This approach helps researchers see religion not only as a spiritual aspect, but also as a social phenomenon that reflects the identities, values, and symbols that live in the community. The results of this research show that the tradition of reciting the Qur’an in graves in Tanjung Medan Village is a form of cultural acculturation between Islamic teachings and pre-existing local traditions. The people of Tanjung Medan Village solemnly carry out this tradition as a tribute to the deceased and as a reminder to those who are still alive about life after death. In its implementation, this tradition not only involves the immediate family but also the surrounding community, such as the Wirid group, who participate in reading prayers and verses from the Qur’an. In addition, this activity contains values of togetherness and solidarity, which are demonstrated in the reading of the Qur’an alternately by several people and in the provision of alms for participants. Overall, the tradition of reciting the Qur’an at graves In Tanjung Medan Village not only functions as a tribute to the dead but also as a means of conveying Islamic values in a way that is simple and easily accepted by the community

Abstract

Indonesia is unique because of its pluralistic and diverse character. This uniqueness can certainly produce conflict between communities if not managed well. One cause of this is radicalism and intolerance. Moreover, there has been an increase in the number of digital media users in Indonesia, which has the potential to become an arena for contesting various ideologies, including extreme ones. Therefore, a country with religious and cultural diversity requires a religious moderation approach to overcome radicalism and intolerance. This study aims to provide an overview of the role of Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama in promoting religious moderation on social media. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with descriptive analysis that uses secondary data from various scientific literature sources such as journals, books, official reports, and social media content. Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama were chosen because they are the most prominent Islamic organisations in Indonesia and significantly influence religious life. Content analysis was used in this study. This research shows that religious organisations such as Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama play an important role in efforts to ground the religious moderation movement in Indonesia, especially in the context of digital media. Islam Berkemajuan and Islam Nusantara are views initiated by these two organizations to foster religious moderation in society. These two organisations use digital platforms to spread religious messages that emphasise tolerance, harmony, and respect for diversity. The implication of this research is that the presence of Muhammadiyah and NU on social media is strategic in shaping public opinion and expanding the understanding of religion. By using digital media, these two organisations are disseminators of moderate religious teachings and agents of social change that can reduce extremism

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the dogmas received by wives in Bali and Banten regarding their obligation to provide for their families. It also explores the shifting roles in the fulfilment of these obligations. Employing a qualitative research method with an empirical juridical approach, also known as a sociological approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, document analysis, and literature reviews. The data collected were analysed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings reveal differences in the dogmas received by wives in Bali and Banten. Women in Bali perceive the responsibility of earning a living as a shared duty between husbands and wives. In contrast, women in Banten view it as an absolute obligation of the husband; if the wife works, her role is merely to support the husband in meeting the family’s needs. The role shift in providing for the family occurs due to various factors, including economic needs, the wife’s skills being more relevant, the husband’s illness, prolonged absence without notice, death, and old age. Women in both Bali and Banten often assume the role of breadwinners for several reasons, such as the higher availability of job opportunities for women, economic challenges, higher educational attainment of wives, greater demand for women in the labor market, pre-marriage employment contracts, and inherited customs. This study offers insights into the interplay between traditional dogmas, economic realities, and shifting gender roles in Muslim families, contributing to discussions of gender dynamics and economic adaptation in Indonesia
