Abstract

In human life, sports play a very important role as they can influence both physical and psychological conditions. Through regular physical activity, individuals not only achieve physical fitness but also maintain mental and emotional balance. One type of exercise that is interesting to study is slow running, which involves running at a steady but gentle pace. This study focuses on examining the effectiveness of group slow running on levels of happiness. The subjects of this research were students from the Psychology Department at Universitas Negeri Padang, class of 2021, aged between 18 and 21 years old. The study employed a quantitative method with an experimental approach using a pretest-posttest control group design. Two groups were involved in this research—an experimental group and a control group—each receiving different treatments. Measurements were conducted before and after the intervention to observe changes in happiness levels. The results of the independent sample t-test analysis showed a significance value of 0.003, which is smaller than α = 0.05. This indicates a significant difference between the two groups. Therefore, it can be concluded that group slow running is effective in increasing happiness among adolescents, particularly university students, as it fosters feelings of relaxation, enthusiasm, and togetherness.

Abstract

Many young people in Indonesia have a strong interest in starting their own businesses; however, only a small portion are able to turn this interest into a sustainable entrepreneurial career. This study aims to explore in depth how family support plays a role in the journey of young entrepreneurs, from the early stages of entrepreneurial exposure to the formation of entrepreneurial identity and personal values. The research employs a qualitative method with a narrative-biographical approach. Participants were selected using purposive sampling, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the main subject and significant others who have close relationships with the subject. The data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis technique, which focuses on identifying meaning and patterns within the subject’s life experiences. The findings reveal four main themes: (1) the process of early entrepreneurial learning and exposure, (2) the role and dynamics of family support in fostering entrepreneurial resilience, (3) turning points in career transformation and the formation of entrepreneurial identity, and (4) personal principles and values that guide business practices. The results emphasize that family support is not only material but also serves as a psychological and emotional factor that plays a crucial role in the success of young entrepreneurs in building and sustaining their businesses.

Abstract

University students frequently face various academic demands, such as coursework, research, field practice, and examinations. These pressures may lead to psychological stress that can trigger anxiety. If not properly managed, anxiety can negatively affect academic performance, social interactions, and students’ psychological well-being. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the intensity of Qur’an recitation and the level of anxiety among students. This research employed a quantitative descriptive design involving 103 students from the Department of Psychology, Padang State University as participants. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling with a purposive sampling approach. The instruments consisted of the Qur’an Reading Intensity Scale adapted from Pradika (2014) with a reliability coefficient of 0.721, and the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale with a reliability coefficient of 0.829. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s product-moment correlation test. The findings revealed a significant negative correlation between the intensity of Qur’an recitation and students’ anxiety levels (r = -0.801; p = 0.000 < 0.05). This indicates that the more frequently students read the Qur’an, the lower their anxiety levels, and vice versa. Categorization results further showed that most students had a high intensity of Qur’an recitation (42.7%) and experienced low to moderate levels of anxiety (78.7%). These results reinforce previous studies suggesting that spiritual practices such as Qur’an recitation can serve as an effective spiritual coping strategy to foster tranquility, regulate emotions, and strengthen resilience in facing academic stressors. Therefore, Qur’an recitation can be recommended as a complementary approach to maintaining students’ mental health in higher education settings.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of halal brands, brand image, and price perceptions on the motivation and purchasing choices of Wardah consumers, as well as to identify the psychological and behavioral factors underlying the phenomenon of "The Wardah Effect" among Indonesian people. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach supported by qualitative data. A total of 21 Wardah respondents aged 18 to 27 years old in Kudus were selected as respondents through purposive sampling techniques. Data was collected online using a questionnaire with a Likert scale and open-ended questions. The results showed that three main factors greatly influenced "The Wardah Effect", namely value (halal image and pride in local products), economic efficiency (affordable prices), and ease of access (easy to find). Most respondents felt proud of local products (81.0%), found the prices offered affordable (95.2% agreed), and thought that the products were easy to find (90.5%). Halal imagery is also the most influential component, which provides a sense of security and trust (76.2% fully agree). Promotions and advertisements had an impact on 80.9% of respondents. It was concluded that Wardah's purchase decision was based on three types of rationality, namely economic, cultural, and ideological, as well as social-digital, thus making Wardah a symbol of identity and social values for the younger generation.
