Pregnancy Hypertension or Gestational Hypertension is a condition of systolic blood pressure of 140 mmHg and diastolic 90 mmHg or blood pressure increases by 30 mmHg or more and diastolic increases by 15 mmHg or more. Objective : To determine the factors that influence the incidence of gestational hypertension at the Sally Clinic in 2024. Population and Sample: Pregnant women who came to the Sally clinic experienced hypertension, the number of 30 people with a total population sampling technique, so the number of samples was 30 people. Place and time: at the Sally Clinic, Tembung on month April– July 2024. Results : Univariate : The majority of respondents with high school education were 15 people (50%), the majority had a good lifestyle were 18 people (60%), the majority had genetics were 26 people (87%), the majority were aged 20-35 years were 25 people (83%). The majority did not experience gestational hypertension as many as 21 people (70%). Bivariate : From 12 respondents with unhealthy lifestyles, 9 experienced gestational hypertension (30%). The results of the p value calculation = 0.000 , from respondents who had a family history of hypertension, 6 people overall experienced gestational hypertension, the P Value value = 0.000 <0.05 was obtained , the age of 9 respondents experiencing gestational diabetes, there were 5 respondents (17%) aged over 35 years, The results of the statistical analysis of the three variables showed a p-value <0.05, so Ha was accepted, namely there was a lifestyle and medical history, age with the incidence of gestational hypertension at the Sally Tembung Clinic in 2024. Conclusion : there is a relationship between lifestyle, medical history and age with the incidence of gestational hypertension at the Sally Tembung Clinic in 2024.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is one of the factors that help improve the quality of health services. When a patient's experience after obtaining health services is compared to the patient's expectations, the resulting level of satisfaction can be measured. Finding out how satisfied Malawili Health Centre patients are with their pharmacological care was the motivation for this survey. In this descriptive study with a cross-sectional design, one hundred participants were surveyed between September and October 2023 at the Malawi Health Centre Pharmacy Services Department. Data was collected to measure the level of patient satisfaction through questions in the categories of tangible evidence (reliability), responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. SPSS software was used to analyse patient satisfaction levels. The results of the analysis of each dimension of patient satisfaction were as follows: tangibility 76.4%, reliability 82%, responsiveness 83.8%, assurance 86.7%, and empathy 89.35%. Meanwhile, the P values of the sociodemographic relationship test results and satisfaction levels were all > 0.05, including gender (0.000 < 0.1), age (0.208 > 0.1), education (0.673 > 0.1), occupation (0.000 < 0.1), and income (0.000 < 0.1).

Abstract

The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) is a part of the peripheral nervous system that plays a role in controlling bodily functions unconsciously. The ANS consists of two main divisions, namely the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, which work antagonistically to maintain the body's homeostasis. This article discusses the structure, function, and working mechanisms of the ANS under various physiological and pathological conditions. Understanding the ANS is crucial in the medical field, especially in managing diseases related to autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

Abstract

The increasing popularity of e-cigarettes has led to health problems, particularly EVALI. This study aims to analyze several factors that encourage the use of e-cigarettes (vape) and their impact. The analysis method used is a literature review and uses journals published in the last 5 years with Google Scholar, and PubMed as a database. The implementation time of the work began from March-April. Determinants of vape use, namely internal factors such as experience, attitude, and personality. External factors include modern lifestyle, friendship, family, and social class. Other disease impacts include cough, chest pain, dyspnea, nausea, gastrointestinal symptoms, fatigue, and fever. It is therefore desirable to increase individual awareness about the dangers of vaping.

Abstract

Anemia is a common health problem among adolescent girls, which can affect their growth and development. Thi study aims to identify factors that influence the occurrence of anemia in adolescent girls. Both biological and environmental factors contribute to anemia. The method used was a comprehensive literature review, by collecting data from various relevant sources including journals and research reports. The result emphasized the importance of knowledge about adolescent girls health, as well as lack of iron consumtion, irregular sleep patterns and long-duration or irregular menstruation, so there is a need for education n each village to reduce the risk of anemia in adolescent girls. The conclusion of this study shows that the impact of anemia affects physical health, quality of life, productivity and social well-being. Addressing anemia should be a priority in public health policy.

Abstract

This study synthesized novel sulfadiazine-imine derivatives (A1 and A2) using a microwave-assisted method by reacting sulfadiazine with orsellinaldehyde and 2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzaldehyde. The synthesis involved the nucleophilic addition of sulfadiazine to the aldehyde groups, forming imine bonds efficiently under microwave irradiation within 15 minutes. The antibacterial efficacy of the synthesized derivatives was tested against Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Escherichia coli using agar well diffusion methods. The derivatives A1 and A2 exhibited significantly improved antibacterial activities compared to sulfadiazine, with A1 showing the highest efficacy. Specifically, inhibition zones for Bacillus subtilis reached 26 mm (A1 at 100 mg/mL) compared to 20 mm for sulfadiazine, and similar trends were observed against E. coli and S. pneumoniae. Furthermore, the cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 breast cancer cells revealed that both derivatives demonstrated dose-dependent cytotoxicity. For derivative A1, cell viability decreased to 19% at 320 ppm with an estimated IC50 between 40 and 80 ppm. Derivative A2 showed comparable cytotoxic behavior, with cell viability dropping to 12.6% at the highest concentration tested. The enhanced antibacterial and anticancer properties are attributed to increased lipophilicity and improved cellular penetration conferred by the imine functional group. This research highlights the potential of microwave-assisted derivatization of sulfadiazine to produce compounds with promising therapeutic applications.
