Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the implementation of risk management in handling problematic customers at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) KCP Surabaya Pelindo Place. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that risk management has been implemented through systematic stages: risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and control. Problematic financing is addressed through restructuring strategies such as rescheduling, reconditioning, and restructuring. However, the effectiveness is influenced by internal factors such as customer behavior and external factors such as economic conditions. Strengthening risk mitigation and customer literacy is necessary to improve financing quality.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of price and market mechanism in the thought of Ibn Taymiyyah and evaluates its relevance to contemporary issues in Islamic economics. The research adopts a qualitative library-based method using a descriptive-analytical approach within a historical-contextual framework. Primary sources consist of Ibn Taymiyyah’s major works, while secondary sources are drawn from recent scholarly literature addressing fair pricing, market mechanisms, state intervention, monopoly, hoarding, and transaction ethics. The findings indicate that, according to Ibn Taymiyyah, prices are fundamentally formed through the natural interaction of supply and demand; therefore, price fluctuations should not automatically be regarded as a form of injustice. Nevertheless, market mechanisms must operate within a moral framework grounded in honesty, transparency, justice, and the prohibition of manipulation. The state is not justified in imposing prices arbitrarily, yet it retains legitimate authority to intervene when market distortions occur, such as monopoly, hoarding, fraud, and market domination that undermine public welfare. In this regard, Ibn Taymiyyah’s thought reflects a synthesis of market freedom, the ethics of muamalah, and state supervision aimed at promoting economic justice and the public good.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has created new ways of conducting economic transactions, such as direct selling, flash sales, and online shopping through e-commerce sites. This convenience can make buying and selling more active, but it can also create uncertainty in transactions. This study aims to analyze direct selling using a flash sales system according to Islamic law. The method used is to examine various studies on muamalah jurisprudence, direct selling, flash sales, and online transactions. The results indicate that the practice is permissible as long as it adheres to the principles of honesty, openness, clarity of the transaction object, and agreement between the seller and buyer. However, uncertainty can arise if product information or transaction rules are not clearly explained. Therefore, it is important to provide complete and honest product descriptions to ensure transactions comply with Islamic law.

Abstract

Hadith is the second primary source of Islamic law after the Qur'an and plays a significant role in explaining various aspects of life, including family law. This study aims to examine the development of Hadith from the era of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the period of the Rightly Guided Caliphs (Khulafa al-Rashidin) and to analyze thematic Hadiths related to Islamic family law. This research employs a library research method using a descriptive-analytical approach based on Hadith literature, classical commentaries, and relevant academic sources. The findings reveal that the compilation and transmission of Hadith developed gradually, beginning during the Prophet’s lifetime and continuing through the efforts of the Companions, who exercised great caution in preserving the authenticity of Hadith. The thematic Hadith (maudhu’i) approach serves as an effective method for understanding Hadith by collecting and examining all narrations related to a specific topic. In the field of family law, the Prophet’s Hadiths provide comprehensive guidance regarding the rights and obligations of spouses, the protection of women, and the criteria for selecting a marriage partner. The Hadith prohibiting harsh treatment toward wives demonstrates Islam’s commitment to protecting women's dignity and rejecting domestic violence. Meanwhile, the Hadith encouraging Muslims to prioritize religious commitment when choosing a spouse emphasizes the importance of faith and piety as the primary foundation for establishing a harmonious, loving, and compassionate family (sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah). Therefore, thematic Hadiths on family law remain highly relevant in addressing contemporary family issues and serve as moral and normative foundations for strengthening Islamic family resilience.

Abstract

Marriage in Islam is not merely a bond between two individuals; it is a concept that embraces religious, moral, and social values. As one of the pillars of Islam, marriage holds wisdom and broader objectives, teaching believers to appreciate Allah's wisdom in creating life partners who complement each other. From the perspective of Islamic law, marriage is implemented as the tradition of Prophet Muhammad, providing a moral and spiritual foundation for the Islamic community. The ijab-qabul process is a key element, with a deep understanding of the rights and responsibilities of both spouses.Islamic marriage involves the family, with the approval of a guardian indicating familial support. Islamic law details the rights and duties of spouses, establishing the foundation for a balanced relationship. It also serves to prevent adultery, safeguarding society from moral decay. While Islam values marriage, it also provides detailed procedures for divorce. This process is considered a last resort requiring careful consideration and fairness. Marriage in Islam extends beyond worldly life, aiming to bring individuals closer to Allah in the hereafter. The research methodology employs a normative approach, referencing Islamic legal literature. Fundamental concepts of marriage, the pillars of nikah, and the wisdom of marriage are the primary focus of the discussion. From the perspective of Islamic law, marriage creates a robust foundation for building relationships that are balanced, just, and blessed

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on global and national economies, including the Islamic capital market in Indonesia. This study analyzes the effects of the pandemic on the Islamic stock market by examining key indices such as the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) and the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), as well as Islamic financial instruments like sukuk and sharia mutual funds. Using a qualitative approach with document analysis method, this research systematically examines official reports from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, regulations from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and relevant scientific publications to understand the pandemic's impact comprehensively. The findings reveal that the pandemic triggered significant volatility in stock prices, trading volume, and market liquidity, with JII reaching its lowest point at 476.39 points in March 2020. However, Islamic capital markets showed relatively greater resilience compared to conventional markets, with lower decline rates in market capitalization (22.4%) and performance (16.3%) compared to conventional markets. This resilience stems from adherence to sharia principles that prohibit excessive speculation and interest-based transactions. The research highlights the stability of sukuk and sharia mutual funds amid the crisis and the growing interest from investors in ethical and halal investment options during uncertain economic times. This research provides insights into the risk management and sustainability of Islamic finance during global economic shocks and offers recommendations for market participants and regulators to strengthen the resilience and growth of the Islamic capital market.

Abstract

This research examines the management of Islamic stock portfolios as an alternative investment that combines Islamic Sharia principles with modern portfolio theory. The research aims to analyze the concept, strategies, and implementation of Islamic stock portfolio management in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods and content analysis of literature, regulations, and documents related to the Islamic capital market. Data were collected from secondary sources including books, scientific journals, reports from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), fatwas from the National Sharia Council - Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), and documents from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The results of the study indicate that Islamic stock portfolio management has unique characteristics that distinguish it from conventional portfolios, namely the existence of a sharia screening process, the prohibition of riba, gharar, and maysir, and an orientation towards the halal sector. Diversification, rebalancing, and performance evaluation strategies based on sharia indices such as the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) and the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) are key to portfolio optimization. This research concludes that Islamic stock portfolio management can provide competitive returns while maintaining compliance with sharia principles, making it a sustainable and ethical investment choice for Muslim investors.

Abstract

The exchange rate plays a crucial role in influencing investment interest in developing countries such as Indonesia. Exchange rate volatility affects investor confidence, capital inflows, and both real and financial sector investment decisions. This research aims to analyze how currency fluctuations impact investment interest in Indonesia, focusing on macroeconomic interrelations and investor behavioral responses. The method applied is descriptive qualitative, using secondary data derived from journal publications between 2020–2025. The findings indicate that currency depreciation tends to reduce investment interest due to increased uncertainty and asset devaluation. Conversely, stable exchange rates strengthen investment growth by enhancing investor confidence and reducing perceived risk. Therefore, exchange rate stability is essential to maintaining and increasing investment attractiveness in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the National Sharia Board of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) in responding to Islamic financial product innovations through the issuance of fatwas. With the rapid development of the Islamic finance industry in Indonesia, adaptive sharia regulations for contemporary financial product innovations are needed. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a documentation study approach to DSN-MUI fatwas related to Islamic financial innovation products from 2010-2023. The results show that DSN-MUI has issued various fatwas regulating innovative products such as multi-service financing, Islamic credit cards, project-based Islamic bonds, and digital products such as Islamic electronic money. The DSN-MUI fatwa determination process uses istinbath methods including the Qur'an, hadith, ijma, qiyas, and the principles of fiqh mu'amalah. This study concludes that DSN-MUI fatwas play a significant role as a sharia legal basis for financial product innovation, maintaining sharia compliance, and providing legal certainty for Islamic financial institutions and customers. However, there are challenges in terms of response speed to rapidly developing product innovations and the need for more massive fatwa socialization to the public.
