Abstract

This research highlights the need for the application of learning models that can improve critical thinking skills. The model that is believed to be able to improve critical thinking skills is Problem Based Learning (PBL). The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the effect of PBL learning model on critical thinking ability; 2) the effect of gender differences on critical thinking ability; 3) the effect of PBL learning model on critical thinking ability in terms of gender differences. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference and effect of problem-based learning and discovery learning models on critical thinking ability in terms of gender. This research used quantitative approach with quasi experiment design. This research instrument used an essay test of 5 questions. The data analysis used was normality test, homogeneity test, and 2-way anova test. The results showed that 1) PBL model has an effect on students‘ critical thinking skills; 2) there is an effect of gender on students’ thinking skills; 3) there is no effect of PBL learning model on critical thinking skills in terms of gender differences.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine how video vlogs in the Wonocolo Bojonegoro Texas area increase student learning motivation in social studies subjects. This research uses quantitative experimental methods. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. Validity test and reliability test are instrument tests used in this research activity. The research was conducted at Al-Fatimah Middle School, Bojonegoro, involving 30 class VII students. The data analysis techniques used are classical assumption testing, simple linear regression model testing and hypothesis testing. The results of the research show that there is a significant influence between vlog videos on student learning motivation in social studies subjects at Al-Faorotimah Middle School, Bojonegoro. The regression equation is Y= 24.532 + 0.924X. From the termination coefficient test, it is known that there is a vlog effect of 75.3% on student learning motivation in social studies subjects. The hypothesis test obtained significance < 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05), so Ho was rejected. This means that the partial influence of video vlogs in the Texas Wonocolo Bojonegoro region on student learning motivation in social studies subjects is significant.

The development of the Mount Ijen Tourism Area in Tamansari Village, Licin District, Banyuwangi Regency, has had a significant impact on the socio-economic and environmental aspects of the local community. This research aims to evaluate public perceptions of the development of the Ijen Crater tourist area. The research method used is the Interactive Model from Miles and Huberman. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation involving 16 research samples consisting of 10 local communities and 6 key informants. The data analysis technique uses Nvivo 12 Pro to determine the relationship between each variable. The results of the research show that there is a positive influence from the development of the Ijen Crater tourist area, namely in terms of 1) economic: income of the surrounding community increases, types of work are varied and new job opportunities are opened, 2) socio-cultural: attitudes of tolerance increase, local culture and arts become more sustainable and increased security, and 3) environment: no land conversion occurs. This research emphasizes the importance of collaboration between government, business actors and the community to achieve sustainable tourism development.

Abstract

This research is based on the dynamics of the condition of the Tasikmalaya-Pangandaran road via Singkup, especially the quality of the road which is increasingly decreasing seen from pre-road dynamics to post-road dynamics. The dynamics of road conditions have an impact on other aspects, especially on aspects in society, especially social and economic aspects, especially in terms of work, experiencing social mobility and in terms of income, resulting in conditions of increase and decrease. The aim of the research is to identify the geospatial dynamics of roads and analyze their relationship to the socio-economic conditions of the community. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach, the analysis technique uses an income theory formula with the results of income curve modeling. The results of the research show that there are geospatial dynamics on the Tasikmalaya-Pangandaran road via Singkup at 5 points, namely the cule incline block, the nutmeg plantation block, the Kopeng 1 incline block, the Kopeng 2 incline block, and the flat portal block which is characterized by changes in width, depth and length and classification of damage. Analysis of the relationship between the geospatial dynamics of roads and the social conditions of society shows that there is social mobility in society with horizontal, vertical upward, vertical downward and permanent lateral types. Analysis of the economic conditions of the community shows that there is a decline in income, especially from the pre-road dynamics period to the post-road dynamics period, a decline of -12.50% to -60.00%.

Abstract

Big data such as Twitter data has been widely used in social science studies, but its use in deforestation studies is still rare in Indonesia. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out what information can be identified through Twitter social media data. The data used in this research is quantitative Twitter data. The geotagged Twitter data was also visualized in the form of maps to help the description analysis process, which is the main analysis in this study. The results of this study show that Twitter deforestation in Pujon Sub-district, Malang Regency has an impact on the surrounding vegetation and hydrological conditions. In the implementation of deforestation countermeasures, we argue that Twitter data can be used in all phases. Twitter data in deforestation countermeasures especially its influence on vegetation and hydrology conditions. Another weakness is that the information from the Twitter data is not certain whether it represents the same demographic characteristics as the conditions in the field and the level of validity of the information that cannot be accounted for yet.
