Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between father involvement and life satisfaction in adolescents in West Sumatra. Life satisfaction is psychological well-being or satisfaction with life as a whole (Santrock, 2012). In addition, according to Argyle (2001) life satisfaction is also subjective well-being because it is subjective according to the individual's assessment. Individual assessment of life satisfaction according to Diener, Oishi, Lucas, and Suh (1999) can be assessed based on Abraham Maslow's theory of need satisfaction, namely physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs. If these five needs can be met properly, individuals will get life satisfaction. Meanwhile, father involvement is parenting by involving fathers in interactions with children through relaxing activities, playing together and teaching something and being responsible for their role in conceptualizing parenting for children. This study uses quantitative methods with a correlational quantitative research design. The population in this study were adolescents in West Sumatra with a total sample of 361 adolescents. data collection tools using life satisfaction scales and father involvement, data analysis using product moment correlation. The results of this study indicate a positive relationship between life satisfaction and father involvement in adolescents in West Sumatra (r = 0.298: p = 0.00).

Abstract

This research aims to examine teenagers' low awareness of the nature of parasocial interactions and time management skills in consuming K-Pop content and social media, and how this can disrupt the balance of teenagers' daily lives. The method used in this research is a descriptive quantitative method, which is known as a traditional method because it has been used for a long time and is common in research. The population of this research is teenage K-Pop fans who actively use social media, using non-probability sampling techniques. The characteristics of the research subjects are teenagers aged between 12 and 22 years who are K-Pop fans and social media users. Data was collected through a questionnaire using a Likert scale to measure parasocial interactions and social media consumption patterns. The results showed that subjects with high social media use had a high level of parasocial interaction. Activities such as scrolling timelines and feeds, enjoying content for fun, and learning Korean from idol posts have a medium level of parasocial interaction. In contrast, activities such as searching for information about idols, watching music videos, voting for idols, and watching concerts and idol content show high to very high levels of parasocial interaction. This research reveals that excessive social media consumption in the K-Pop context can lead to intense parasocial interactions, which have the potential to disrupt the balance of teenagers' daily lives. It is hoped that these findings can become the basis for efforts to increase adolescent awareness regarding time management and healthy social media consumption.

Inclusive education has emerged as one of the most successful approaches to meeting the educational needs of students with special educational needs (SEN). However, the implementation of inclusive education still faces several challenges. This review aims to address these challenges and identify effective strategies for successfully implementing inclusive education. A total of fifteen research articles from ERIC, ProQuest, and Google Scholar published between 2020 and 2024 were included in this review. The review identified two key strategies to tackle these challenges: providing comprehensive teacher training programs and promoting the use of Universal Design Learning (UDL) in schools. These strategies have the potential to improve the quality of learning, student engagement, equal access to learning materials, and support for SEN students.
