Jurnal Imiah Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat (JIPM) merupakan jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarkat yang diterbitkan oleh CV.INDONESIA dengan Nomor Registrasi ISSN : 3026-1163 (Online). Terbit pertama kali bulan Juni 2023, dan diterbitkan 2 kali dalam setahun yaitu pada bulan (Juni dan Desember). Setiap manuskrip yang dikirimkan akan melalui proses peer-review dengan metode double-blind. JIPM diharapakan mampu menjadi media komunikasi dan sosialisasi seluruh civitas akademika terkait dengan hasil inovasi dan solusi dalam berbagai permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat. Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) serves as a strategic platform for university students to contribute to community education. This article describes the role of students from Universitas Negeri Padang in providing tutoring sessions for children in Bukit Harapan Village during school holidays. The non-formal learning activities were designed to fill children's free time with educational content such as reading, writing, arithmetic, basic English, music, poetry, and traditional dance. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with participatory observation. Results show that the program enhanced children’s basic academic skills, creativity, and self-confidence. The main challenges faced included limited learning resources, diverse student abilities, and the short duration of the program. Nevertheless, the program proved effective in supporting children's education and empowering rural communities.

Abstract

Plastic waste that is difficult to decompose is a serious problem in preserving the environment, especially in rural areas such as Kubang Utara Sikabu Village. The lack of waste management facilities and infrastructure as well as the low level of community awareness further exacerbates the condition. Through the 2025 work program of Universitas Negeri Padang's Community Service Program (KKN), an environmental literacy strategy was carried out that included socialization of waste management, training in ecobricking, and installing educational information boards about the length of time inorganic waste decomposes. The goal of this program is to increase community understanding and participation in waste management through the ecobrick method. The information boards installed in each hamlet can be an educational medium that can shape the environmental awareness of the community. This program encourages community awareness and behavior change towards a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Abstract

Environmental problems in Gambiran Village persist due to the community's lack of knowledge about managing household waste, particularly used cooking oil and unsorted garbage. Used cooking oil is generally disposed of directly into the ground or waterways, while waste remains mixed without separating organic and inorganic waste. This situation underscores the importance of community service programs to raise environmental awareness. The purpose of this activity is to enhance the awareness, understanding, and skills of community members and students regarding waste management through the utilization of used cooking oil and the early implementation of waste sorting. The method employed is Participatory Action Research, which involves residents, educational institutions, and university students. The program was carried out through workshops on producing aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil, waste-sorting education, and environmental clean-up activities. The results indicate positive changes, including increased community awareness and participation in waste-sorting practices and in utilizing oil waste.

Abstract

Guru memiliki peran mengajak dan memberikan pendidikan kesehatan gigi dan mulut kepada siswa sehingga siswa lebih termotivasi, karena pada masa sekolah siswa menaruh percaya pada guruyang dapat dijadikan panutan dan sumber informasi bagi siswanya dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan program pencegahan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Tujuan kegiatan adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan Guru – guru anak usia dini dan menurunkan skor plak pada anak usia dini di Kecamatan Sukawati Kabupaten Gianyar. Metode kegiatan Adalah memberikan pelatihan kebersihan gigi dan mulut dengan pretest dan postest dengan pengambilan data tingkat pengetahuan , sikap dan ketrampilan sebelum dan setelah dilakukan tindakan pada guru-guru sekolah anak usia dini di Kecamatan Sukawati Kabupaten Gianyar tahun 2025 sebanyak 51 dari bulan Februari sampai dengan Oktober 2025. Hasil kegiatan yaitu pengetahuan guru-guru sekolah anak usia dini di Kecamatan Sukawati Kabupaten Gianyar setelah diberikan pelatihan seluruh guru-guru sebanyak 51 orang (100%) memiliki pengetahuan baik, Sikap guru-guru setelah diberikan pelatihan sebagian besar yaitu sebanyak 50 orang (98,03%) memiliki sikap baik dan hanya 1 orang (1,96%) yang memiliki sikap cukup dan keterampilan guru-guru setelah diberikan pelatihan seluruh guru-guru sebanyak 51 orang (100%) memiliki keterampilan sangat baik dan tidak ada yang memeliki keterampilan yang perlu bimbingan. Dengan Kriteria plak setelah diberikan pelatihan sebagian besar sebanyak 41 orang (80,39%) memiliki kriteria plak sangat baik dan tidak ada yang memiliki kriteria plak yang buruk

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji strategi pengembangan berkelanjutan yang bertujuan meningkatkan profesionalisme guru sekolah dasar sebagai salah satu elemen penting dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan nasional. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada lima variabel utama, yaitu peningkatan kualifikasi akademik, pengembangan keprofesian berkelanjutan (PKB), sertifikasi guru, evaluasi dan penilaian, serta keterlibatan guru dalam pengembangan kurikulum. Penelitian ini juga menelaah bagaimana implementasi program berkelanjutan tersebut berdampak pada empat aspek profesionalisme guru, yaitu pedagogik, kepribadian, sosial, dan profesional (Agustina et al., 2021; Suriansyah, 2021). Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kualitatif deskriptif melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan strategi pengembangan berkelanjutan memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kompetensi guru, namun masih menghadapi tantangan berupa keterbatasan waktu, fasilitas, dan dukungan kebijakan sekolah (Agusta et al., 2022). Artikel ini merekomendasikan pentingnya kebijakan reflektif dan sistem pengembangan berbasis kolaborasi antarguru untuk menjamin keberlanjutan profesionalisme guru sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This research examines the collaboration between Padang State University (UNP) Community Service Program (KKN) students and young people in Jorong Manganti to enliven the Village Children's Day program. A qualitative approach was applied, using participatory observation and literature review, to capture the dynamics of interactions, roles, and challenges at each stage of the collaboration. Observations revealed that 12 students acted as primary facilitators and developed educational materials, while 20 local youth mobilized village children, adapted content to local wisdom, and provided supporting facilities. This structured collaboration, through three phases of joint initiation, integrated implementation, and collaborative evaluation, fostered a sense of ownership, high enthusiasm, and sustained program improvement. The literature review confirmed that synergy across groups of change agents enhances social inclusion and the sustainability of village innovations. In conclusion, the combination of academic methodology and local wisdom practices has proven effective in empowering children and adolescents, while the qualitative approach enriches understanding of the nuances of community interactions. Recommendations include event management training for young people, participatory discussion forums, multimedia documentation, further research, and the integration of quantitative and qualitative indicators for evaluating program effectiveness.

Abstract

Language plays a fundamental role in human life, particularly in education and global communication. Indonesian serves as a national language and a unifying tool, while English functions as an international medium of global communication. This article aims to examine the role of the Indonesian language within the context of English learning and use, both as a linguistic aid and as a reinforcement of national identity. The research method applied is a literature review, analyzing various relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that Indonesian serves as a linguistic mediator, a competence indicator, and a conceptual framework in English learning. Proper use of Indonesian in English learning enhances students’ understanding of structure, meaning, and communicative context. In conclusion, the synergy between Indonesian and English should be developed in national education to build global literacy while preserving national linguistic identity.
