Abstract

This study develops a contextual Evaluation of Learning Quality and Output (EKOP) Model for Islamic educational institutions. The EKOP Model modifies the Kirkpatrick and CIPP approaches by emphasizing two main dimensions: the quality of the learning process (teacher input, methods, media, and environment) and learning output (improvement in students’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills) integrated with Islamic values. Using a library research method, this study analyzes the relevance, implementation, strengths, and challenges of applying the EKOP Model in madrasahs and Islamic schools. The results show that EKOP provides a more comprehensive evaluation framework and supports continuous improvement in line with the Islamic principles of hisbah and islah. However, the model requires adaptation to avoid neglecting the spiritual and ruhaniyah dimensions. This research is expected to contribute to improving the quality and accountability of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Bullying remains a problem in elementary schools in Indonesia. This study examines the effectiveness of a participatory approach in an anti-bullying education program implemented by the Community Service Program (KKN) team from Padang State University at SDN 01 Balai Panjang, Balai Panjang Village, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra, on January 22, 2026. The combination of five approaches—interactive lectures, Smart Board media, anti-bullying chants, written reflection sessions, and question-and-answer/discussion sessions—successfully improved students' understanding of the definition, types, and impacts of bullying. This participatory method also improved students' ability to resist and report bullying, as well as their empathy for fellow students. The program's success stemmed from the support of Smart Board technology, student participation, and school support. Factors that hindered this activity included time constraints and the reluctance of some students to share their experiences verbally. The study's findings emphasize the effectiveness of interactive methods compared to one-way lectures in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) for the January-June 2026 period in Nagari Sungai Rumbai Timur, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra Province, implemented an educational work program in the form of a Kindergarten-Level Coloring Competition. This program was designed in response to the importance of stimulating creativity and fine motor development in early childhood in rural areas that have not yet received optimal attention. This article uses a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze the implementation process, impact, and program relevance to early childhood potential development. The event held on January 28, 2026 was attended by 25 participants representing 5 kindergartens throughout Nagari Sungai Rumbai Timur. Results show that the coloring competition successfully stimulated children's visual expression, trained fine motor skills, improved concentration, and built participants' self-confidence. The activity received positive responses from all stakeholders and proves that synergy between KKN students, village government, and the community can create real impact on the quality of early childhood education in rural areas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of residential numbering as an effort to standardize environmental spatial planning in six hamlets of Nagari Sungai Rumbai Timur and to examine its contribution to improving the effectiveness of population administration services. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The study was conducted in six hamlets, namely Pasa Pagi, Bukit Berbunga, Balai Timur, Kambang Baru, Kampung Baru, and Ujung Koto. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that before the implementation of residential numbering, the population administration system in Nagari Sungai Rumbai Timur had not operated optimally due to the uneven distribution of house numbers and the absence of a clear and structured numbering system. This condition caused difficulties in locating residents’ houses, conducting population data collection, distributing social assistance, and providing administrative services. The implementation of residential numbering had a positive impact on environmental spatial organization and the effectiveness of public services. With a more structured and uniform house numbering system, population data collection became easier, house addresses could be identified more quickly, and the environment appeared more organized and orderly. This study indicates that residential numbering plays an important role in supporting environmental standardization and improving the quality of population administration at the village level.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out by KKN students in Nagari Sijunjung through solo song and dance competitions for elementary, junior high school, and general participants from January 30 to February 1, 2026. The program aimed to provide a platform for the community to express their artistic talents while preserving Minangkabau local culture. Based on field observation, the community showed strong interest in culture but lacked sufficient spaces to sustain it. The activity involved participants from various educational levels and the general public, with high enthusiasm from the audience. The results indicate increased community participation, greater self-confidence among participants, and stronger appreciation for traditional arts. This activity shows that art competitions can serve as an effective medium for local culture preservation through participatory community service.

Abstract

Pariwisata berbasis potensi lokal memerlukan data spasial yang terstruktur untuk mendukung perencanaan pengembangan wilayah secara berkelanjutan. Jorong Batang Palupuah, Nagari Koto Rantang, memiliki potensi wisata yang beragam, namun belum terdokumentasi secara sistematis sehingga pemanfaatannya belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi dan memetakan persebaran potensi wisata di wilayah tersebut sebagai dasar pengembangan desa wisata. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan dukungan analisis spasial. Data diperoleh melalui observasi lapangan, dokumentasi, pencatatan koordinat menggunakan Avenza Maps, serta didukung data sekunder terkait kondisi wilayah dan program Kampung Berseri Astra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat sekitar 16 titik potensi wisata yang mencakup wisata alam, keanekaragaman hayati, edukasi lingkungan, dan UMKM masyarakat. Pemetaan spasial menghasilkan informasi persebaran potensi yang dapat mendukung pengelolaan wisata secara lebih terintegrasi dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Farmers in Silungkang Oso village still rely on manual irrigation and fertilization based on subjective estimates. This can lead to water waste, inaccurate fertilizer application, and decreased soil productivity. Limited knowledge of agricultural technology is a significant barrier to the adoption of data-driven innovations at the village level. Therefore, this activity aims to improve farmers' knowledge by developing and implementing a guide. The guide covers the basics of soil moisture, the purpose and benefits of an IoT-based moisture sensor, steps for building a device using a capacitive sensor and an Arduino microcontroller, an operating manual, and the importance of this technology for more efficient farming. This initiative was implemented through direct farmer outreach and accompanying guidance to ensure their understanding of the guide. Results indicate that the guide effectively improved farmers' understanding and skills in handling smart farming concepts. This approach has the potential to serve as a model for technology-based agricultural education and can be applied in other rural areas to promote more precise and efficient farming.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the skills and income of MSMEs in Cubadak Air Selatan village through diversification of risol products. The methods used were training, mentoring, and hands-on practice in making risol with contemporary fillings such as smoked beef, mayo, egg, sausage, vegetables, and cheese. Results showed that 80% of participants were able to produce risol independently and will market these risol product variants both online and offline. Training on simple calculations for determining cost of goods sold and how to determine selling prices was also provided. This was done to provide participants with the understanding and skills to determine appropriate selling prices and income. This activity demonstrates that innovation in processed flour products can be an effective strategy for strengthening household economies.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of a children’s learning center and the use of educational teaching aids (APE) in improving children's learning interest and understanding in Lunto Barat Village, Lembah Segar District, Sawahlunto City. The background of this study is based on the limited variety of learning methods and lack of educational media for children in rural areas. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted during the January 2026 community service program (KKN). Data were collected through direct observation and documentation during the learning activities. The findings show that children demonstrated high enthusiasm and active participation in learning activities, including basic literacy and introductory Japanese language lessons. The use of APE on the topic of the pillars of faith helped children understand abstract concepts more concretely and effectively. The program also improved social interaction among children and created a more engaging learning environment. This study implies that simple, interactive, and community-based educational programs can effectively support children's learning development in rural areas and can be adapted for similar contexts.

Abstract

Community-based environmental maintenance is an importanst effor to support environmental sustainability and improve the quality of public infrastructure. One of the activities routinely carried out by ommunity of Nagari Sungai Jambur, Solok City, is the annual mutual cooperation program foccusing on road and drainage cleaning. This community servie activity aims to strengthen the culture of mutual cooperation while imroving enviromental cleanliness and drainage functionality. The methods used include observation, coordination with local stakeholders, implementation of collecctive cleaning activities, and evaluation of outcomes. The result  indicate that the activity seccesfully reduced waste accumulation, imtpoved water flow in drainage channels, enhanced environmental cleanliness, and strengthened social cohesion among ccommunity members. Futhermore, the activity contibuted to increasing public awarness regarding environmental conservation and sustainable infractructure maintancce. Therefore, annual mutual cooperation activities can serve as an effective stratefy for fostering community participation and environmental stewardship.
