Abstract

Students from outside the island of Java tend to choose universities located on Java Island. Various factors underlie this choice, such as the quality of education, accreditation, and the desire to explore new experiences in unfamiliar places. This study aimed to examine the effect of loneliness and academic stress on the psychological well-being of students from outside Java studying in Purwokerto. The study utilized a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression approach. The sample consisted of 334 students from outside Java who were currently pursuing higher education in Purwokerto. The analysis results discovered that H1 was accepted, with an F-value of 159.365 and a significance level of 0.000, which was less than 0.05, indicating that loneliness contributed a significant effect on psychological well-being. H2 was accepted, with an F-value of 304.177 and a significance level of 0.000, indicating that academic stress also significantly affected psychological well-being. H3 was accepted, with an F-value of 536.495 and a significance level of 0.000, showing that loneliness and academic stress simultaneously contributed a significant impact on psychological well-being. These findings highlight the importance of addressing both emotional and academic aspects in supporting the mental health of migrant students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the correlation between loneliness and adjustment among students from Camis studying at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Migrant students often face various challenges, including feelings of loneliness, which may impact their ability to adapt to a new environment. Adjustment in this study refers to seven aspects based on Schneiders theory (1955), while loneliness is measured using the UCLA Loneliness Scale (Russell, 1996). A quantitative approach with a correlational method was employed. The sample consisted of 118 Clamis-origin migrant students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a modified and validated adjustment scale and loneliness scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between loneliness and adjustment among the migrant students, which indicates that the higher the level of loneliness experienced by the students, the lower their level of adjustment, and vice versa. These findings suggest that loneliness is an influential factor in the success of migrant students adjustment within the campus environment

Abstract

Food insecurity is a significant issue that can drastically impact people's quality of life, especially low-income households. This study aims to analyze the relationship between household income levels and food security, based on United States Household Food Security Survey Module (US-HFSSM) scores. Using quantitative methods with a correlational analysis design, data were collected online through the distribution of US-HFSSM questionnaires to ten purposively selected respondents. These respondents varied in terms of residence, education level of the head of the household, and number of children. The study results revealed a concerning reality: of the ten households surveyed, four households were classified as having very low food security, two households as having marginal food security, one household as having low food security, and only three households as having high food security. The average income of respondents was IDR 15,680,000, with 60% categorized as low-income. All respondents acknowledged that income significantly impacts food security. Low-income households are often forced to choose cheaper, less diverse, and not always nutritionally balanced foods. This study underscores the significant impact of income on food choices and highlights the need for targeted interventions to improve food access, diversity, and quality for low-income groups.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the City Walk development on hotel occupancy rates in Tegal City, focusing on the influence of perception, price, distance, and promotion on occupancy changes after the development. A quantitative approach was employed through a survey of 100 respondents consisting of hotel managers or administrators, with data analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity tests, paired t-test, and multiple linear regression. The findings reveal a significant difference in occupancy rates before and after the City Walk development (p < 0.01), with an average increase of 1.88%. Regression analysis showed an R² value of 0.482 and an F-statistic of 21.53 (p < 0.001), indicating that the four variables collectively explained 48.2% of the variation in occupancy rates, with perception, price, and promotion having a significant positive effect, while distance had a significant negative effect. These results highlight that hotel management strategies integrating a positive City Walk image, competitive pricing, accessible location, and effective promotion can significantly enhance occupancy rates.

Abstract

Improving the quality of healthcare services requires the implementation of a patient safety culture as the primary pillar for consistently integrating safety principles policies and procedures. This research is carried out to examine the implementation of patient safety culture management at the Merek Community Health Center, Karo Regency, which still faces various obstacles such as a lack of guidelines, limited resources, and insufficient training. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations and documentation, and analysis referring to George C. Edwards III's policy implementation theory and the dimensions of patient safety culture. The findings point to the conclusion that implementation has not been carried out comprehensively, especially in aspects of communication, understanding of health workers, and reporting and learning culture. Continuous training, a more flexible reporting system, and institutional support are needed to strengthen the holistic application of patient safety values and practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the organizational culture implemented by PT. Pos Indonesia in facing the challenges of service digitalization, particularly at the Main Branch Office (KCU) in Medan City. In the rapidly evolving digital era, public organizations such as PT. Pos Indonesia are required to undergo transformation not only in their service systems but also in their values and work culture. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews with five informants from diverse backgrounds: the finance and general administration manager, the operational manager, the courier and logistics control manager, the front-office staff, and a member of the public as a service user. The data were analyzed using the seven organizational culture indicators by Stephen P. Robbins, which include innovation and risk-taking, attention to detail, outcome orientation, people orientation, team orientation, aggressiveness, and stability. The findings reveal that PT. Pos Indonesia’s organizational culture remains largely bureaucratic and is not yet fully responsive to digital change due to limitations in human resource capacity and financial constraints. Innovation and risk-taking are still limited, attention to service detail is inconsistent, and outcome orientation is often hindered by rigid work systems. Although efforts to strengthen teamwork and foster human-centric public service are evident, the main challenges lie in technological adaptability and under-optimized human resource roles. Therefore, a reform of the organizational culture is needed—one that is not only flexible and dynamic but also aligned with technological advancements and market demands. This effort can be carried out through capacity building of human resources, streamlining bureaucratic procedures, and strengthening managerial commitment to support innovation. The transformation of organizational culture must become an integral part of the digital adaptation strategy, enabling Pos Indonesia to become more responsive, competitive, and relevant within the modern public service ecosystem.

Abstract

The role of government in the realm of public services is an essential element in ensuring equitable food availability through policies and appropriate accessibility especially for female heads of households divorce by death in Medan Helvetia District. This study aims to examine the role of the Medan City Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Service in fulfilling food for female heads of households as a vulnerable group in Medan Helvetia District. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data and information collection was carried out using interview, observation, documentation, and literature techniques. The location of the study coincided with the Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Service of Medan City. The informants in this study were the Head of the Service, Secretary of the Service, and Head of the Availability, Stabilization, and Nutrition Division, Assistant Manager of the North Sumatra Provincial Bulog Company and female heads of households in Medan Helvetia District. Data and information were analyzed based on Gade Diva's theory (2009) which includes; The role of government as a regulator, dynamicator, facilitator and catalyst. The results of the study indicate that the Medan City Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Service has made efforts to carry out its role in ensuring food availability for female heads of households in Medan Helvetia District. However, the implementation of policies such as RAD-PG 2022–2024 and programs to support food availability for female heads of households in Medan Helvetia District have not fully strong and satisfied the main target group, namely female heads of households in Medan Helvetia District. Access to digital information such as the Food Management Information System (SIMPANG) is still limited, and the intensity of program socialization has not been effective, but counseling for woman farmers is routine, and coordination with the North Sumatra Province Bulog has not been adaptive enough in improving the dynamics of staple food prices. The Medan City Food Security, Agriculture, and Fisheries Service is advised to strengthen the implementation of RAD-PG 2024-2026 in the future with a participatory and gender-responsive approach, and consider implementing programs that come directly from the relevant agencies for female heads of households as an alternative form of assistance that is more flexible, targeted, and able to guarantee sustainable food access in Medan Helvetia District.

Abstract

This article discusses a socialization activity themed “Be Aware of Leptospirosis: Recognize, Prevent, and Address Before It's Too Late,” conducted by Group 3 of the Nusantara 2025 Community Service Program on August 10, 2025, at the Pendopo Padukuhan Sayangan, Banjararum Village, Kalibawang Sub-district, Kulon Progo District. The activity was attended by local PKK cadres and facilitated by 13 students from various PTKIN and PTKIS institutions, with dr. Augrey Prawita as the speaker. The objective of the activity was to provide basic understanding regarding the etiology, transmission routes, clinical signs, simple preventive measures, and initial actions to be taken if infection is suspected. The methods used were descriptive and educational, including presentations by medical personnel, simple practical demonstrations, and interactive question-and-answer sessions. Activity documentation included attendance lists, photos, copies of materials, and question-and-answer notes. No quantitative measurements were taken, so the analysis was narrative-based, relying on observations and facilitator notes. Results showed active participant engagement during the question-and-answer session; questions raised included distinctions between fever symptoms, household prevention measures, the role of animal reservoirs, and referral procedures. Facilitator observations indicated increased awareness and participants' intent to share information with family members, though changes in knowledge or behavior were not measured numerically. Documentation of activities was recorded in full as evidence of implementation. The conclusion stated that the socialization was successfully implemented according to plan and increased initial awareness among participants. The main limitations were that it was a one-time implementation and there was no quantitative evaluation. Recommended follow-up actions included cadre training, provision of visual materials, coordination with community health centers, and coordinated environmental activities to strengthen leptospirosis prevention.

Abstract

This community service article aims to improve the understanding and skills of mothers in Dasawisma in Dukuh Sayangan, Kulon Progo Regency, in applying positive and effective parenting patterns for children and adolescents through an interactive socialization approach. The method used is a qualitative, descriptive, participatory approach, involving participatory observation, focused group discussions (FGD) with 30 participants, and a systematic literature review to support the theoretical foundation of authoritative, permissive, and authoritarian parenting styles. The socialization results showed full participation with high enthusiasm, where the mothers were able to summarize the characteristics of authoritative, permissive, and authoritarian parenting styles after the thematic lecture, and understood the impact of communication and firmness in building family cohesion and the role of parenting in feeding interventions to prevent stunting. Group discussions identified the main barriers, limited time, access to information, cultural norms, and low understanding of child protection laws, and developed local adaptation strategies in the form of peer support forums, traditional media containing summaries of child protection laws, and visual aids for safe zones for children. The implications of the socialization were reflected in increased self-confidence and the formation of informal support networks. This parenting socialization effectively equipped Dasawisma mothers with knowledge and social networks for practice change, so it is recommended to continue through regular forums, local language guide modules, village facilitator training, and program integration at posyandu and social and cultural activities.
