Abstract

This study examines the differences in Javanese dialect vocabulary between Tegalpingen Village, Pengadegan District, Purbalingga Regency, and Rejamulya Village, Kedungreja District, Cilacap Regency, as well as their implications for students’ speaking skills. The research was motivated by observations of variations in vocabulary, phonological, and semantic aspects that affect communication among students at SMK YPLP Perwira 2 Purbalingga and SMK LPPM RI 2 Kedungreja. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a sociolinguistic dialectology approach, the study found phonological differences such as phoneme addition (prothesis, epenthesis, paragoge) and phoneme reduction (aphaeresis, syncope, apocope), along with contraction, substitution, and metathesis processes. Specifically, 27 vocabulary items involved phoneme changes, 4 prothesis, 8 epenthesis, 3 paragoge, 8 aphaeresis, 5 syncope, 2 apocope, and 1 metathesis. Semantic differences included 51 synonymic terms, where different words refer to the same concept, and 5 homonyms, where identical forms have distinct meanings. The implementation of these dialectal differences revealed that students tend to feel more confident using local dialects in daily conversations, yet they face difficulties when required to use standard Indonesian, particularly in distinguishing between polite and impolite registers. Interviews with language teachers further indicated that Javanese dialect use in school settings often carries negative stigma, highlighting the need for guidance in applying appropriate language varieties in both peer and teacher interactions.

Abstract

This research explores the process of ekranisasi the adaptation of literary works into cinematic form through a comparative analysis of the novel "Ancika Dia yang Bersamaku 1995" by Pidi Baiq and its 2024 film adaptation directed by Benni Setiawan. The study focuses on the transformation of intrinsic narrative elements, namely plot, characters and characterization, and setting. Employing a qualitative descriptive method and content analysis, this research examines the narrative shifts that occur during adaptation using the framework of ekranisasi, which includes three key aspects: reduction, addition, and modification. The findings indicate significant changes in character representation, scene construction, and setting transitions between the two mediums. While some elements from the novel were omitted or altered due to the constraints and demands of cinematic storytelling, other components were creatively added to enhance audience engagement. These transformations highlight the interpretive nature of film as a distinct artistic medium and emphasize the need to consider both the limitations and potentials of adaptation. The study contributes to comparative literature and film studies, offering critical insight into how narrative meaning is negotiated, restructured, and reimagined in the adaptation process within the Indonesian cultural context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of self-confidence, academic resilience, and learning discipline on students' mathematics learning outcomes. The research method used is quantitative with an ex post facto design, because the research variables have existed naturally without manipulation. The study was conducted in July 2025 with a population of all students of SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati and a sample of 150 students selected through a simple random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire on the variables of self-confidence (X1), academic resilience (X2), learning discipline (X3), and mathematics achievement (Y). Before being used, the instrument was tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using prerequisite tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and linearity) and multiple regression using SPSS-25. The results showed that self-confidence, academic resilience, and learning discipline had a significant effect both simultaneously and partially on mathematics learning outcomes. Simultaneously, the three variables contributed 21.4% to learning outcomes, while the rest was influenced by other factors. Self-confidence increases students' courage to face challenges, academic resilience helps students survive difficulties, and learning discipline supports learning consistency

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive linguistic analysis of Cha Eunwoo’s farewell speech in Master in the House (Episode 177), employing an integrated framework of discourse analysis, pragmatics, and rhetorical strategies, complemented by a multimodal approach. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative methodology, focusing on a single case study of a televised speech. Data were meticulously transcribed from the original video, and a detailed analysis was conducted to investigate how Cha Eunwoo discursively constructs his identity and relationships, navigates social nuances through pragmatic choices in Korean politeness and honorifics, and employs rhetorical appeals, particularly pathos, to foster and maintain audience engagement and parasocial bonds. Furthermore, the analysis examines the interplay of verbal and non-verbal cues, including vocalics, kinesics, and visual context, in shaping the overall communicative impact of the televised speech. Findings reveal a sophisticated balance between personal emotion and public performance, demonstrating how linguistic and multimodal strategies are strategically deployed to reinforce celebrity persona, solidify interpersonal connections within a variety show setting, and ensure sustained fan loyalty within the dynamic landscape of Hallyu. This study contributes to a nuanced understanding of celebrity communication, the evolving dynamics of the Korean Wave, and the complex application of Korean linguistic features in mediated entertainment contexts

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the gula merah (traditional brown sugar) industry in promoting the economic empowerment of the community of Huta Tinggi Village, Puncak Sorik Merapi District, Mandailing Natal Regency. Conducted by KKN students of Group 33, the research used a qualitative approach: field observation, in-depth interviews with business actors, and documentation of the production process. The main findings indicate that the gula merah industry significantly increases household incomes, creates local employment, and strengthens an economy grounded in traditional wisdom. The still-traditional production process functions as a cultural identity and presents an opportunity to increase added value through packaging innovation, quality improvement, certification, and digital marketing. Identified challenges include limited equipment, low quality standards, minimal promotion, and restricted market access. Practical recommendations include technical training and quality management for producers, investment in simple equipment, assistance with packaging and branding, guidance on digital marketing, and facilitation of market access and microfinance by local government. Partnerships with educational institutions and the private sector are also advised for product research, halal and quality certification, and research to support product diversification. In conclusion, the Huta Tinggi gula merah industry is not only economically valuable but also strategic for rural community empowerment; implementing these recommendations through immediate actions, such as training, financing access, and digital promotion, combined with regular monitoring and evaluation can sustainably strengthen local economic resilience and engage younger generations.

Abstract

Training in tajhizul mayit is a very important form of religious education in efforts to improve the understanding and skills of the younger generation, especially teenagers and junior high school students, regarding the procedures for caring for the deceased in accordance with Islamic law. This community service activity was carried out in Sibanggor Julu Village, Puncak Sorik Marapi District, Mandailing Natal Regency. The activity aimed to instill awareness in junior high school students from an early age about the obligation to carry out fardhu kifayah, as well as to shape religious attitudes, social awareness, and a sense of social responsibility in the community. The methods used in this training included lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on demonstrations covering bathing, shrouding, praying, and burying the deceased. Through this approach, participants not only gained theoretical knowledge but also practical experience that reinforced their understanding. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the participants' knowledge, skills, and attitudes towards the importance of tajhizul mayit. In addition, this training also fostered spiritual awareness among the participants, strengthened their togetherness, and reinforced religious character values among junior high school students. Therefore, this program is expected to make a real contribution in nurturing a young generation that not only understands Islamic teachings, but is also ready to play an active role in social and religious life in the community.

Abstract

The management and transfer of State-Owned Assets (BMN) through the grant mechanism is one of the government’s instruments to support national development and improve public welfare. However, in practice, the implementation of BMN grants encounters various challenges. From the administrative perspective, many government assets remain unrecorded in asset registers, damaged assets are not disposed of properly, causing imbalances in financial statements, and supporting documents for grants are often incomplete. From the technical perspective, obstacles arise due to the wide geographical distribution of assets, assets built on privately owned land, and limited regulations regarding grants to region-owned enterprises (BUMD). Other issues in the field include cases where recipients refuse grants after approval due to location or additional cost considerations, as well as applicants who submit multiple requests. These conditions indicate that the principles of good governance in state asset management have not been fully realized. Based on this background, the study aims to analyze and examine the policy of BMN transfer through grants within the perspective of good governance, while formulating more effective and efficient policy recommendations. This research employs a descriptive qualitative analysis by reviewing relevant regulations, including Law No. 17 of 2003 on State Finance, Government Regulation No. 28 of 2020 on the Management of State/Regional Assets, and Ministry of Finance Regulation No. 165/PMK.06/2021. The findings reveal that the implementation of BMN grants has not fully aligned with existing legal provisions, both in terms of policy and technical execution. This has led to suboptimal transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in the transfer of BMN. In conclusion, there is a need for strengthened policies and more comprehensive technical regulations to ensure that BMN grants are carried out transparently, accountably, and in accordance with the principles of good governance. Thus, this study contributes policy recommendations to enhance future BMN management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of public understanding in Ranto Natas Village regarding the dangers of drugs, online gambling, and online loans, which have become pressing issues in Indonesia. The research employed a qualitative method through literature review and field observation. The findings indicate that most villagers demonstrate a relatively high awareness of these threats, supported by the roles of religious leaders, community figures, village authorities, and educational programs such as the KKN STAIN Madina. Nevertheless, a small portion of residents remain vulnerable, particularly to drug abuse and online gambling, driven by economic hardship, low education, weak family supervision, and extensive access to technology. This study contributes to strengthening preventive strategies through community-based education, digital literacy, and family involvement to safeguard young generations from the adverse impacts of drugs, online gambling, and illegal online loans.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of people with disabilities in the anime film Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The study is motivated by the social perception that often simplifies people with disabilities into figures worthy of pity or mere inspiration, necessitating a critical examination of symbolic and narrative constructions in popular media. The research method applied is qualitative descriptive with a semiotic analysis strategy, where data were collected through in-depth observation of the film and literature review from various scientific references on disability representation and semiotics. The results indicate that the character Josee is represented multidimensionally, including emotional, social, and aspirational aspects, alongside visual and verbal symbols that convey an inclusive and humane understanding of people with disabilities. These findings emphasize the importance of sensitive and complex narratives in popular media to influence audience perception and provide a realistic understanding of the experiences of people with disabilities. In conclusion, the film not only entertains but also contributes to social and cultural learning about inclusivity, while encouraging media producers to create fairer characters and storylines.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (KKN) focuses on empowering a group of women in Huta Baru Village, Mandailing Natal Regency, through the implementation of Marsanji, a local tradition rich in religious, cultural, and communal values. Marsanji serves as a medium for spiritual expression within the community as well as a vehicle for strengthening social interaction and cultural identity. The objective of the activity is to increase the active participation of women in the preservation of local culture and to encourage the role of women in maintaining the sustainability of traditional values amid the challenges of modernization. The implementation methods included field observations, interviews with community leaders, socialization on the importance of cultural preservation, training in activity organization skills, and direct assistance in the implementation of Marsanji. The implementation lasted for two months with weekly meetings facilitated by the KKN team and local traditional leaders. The results of the activity showed an increase in the mothers' understanding, enthusiasm, and involvement, both in terms of cultural knowledge and the regular implementation of Marsanji. The observed social impacts included strengthened solidarity, an increased sense of community among residents, and the growth of young people's concern for cultural heritage. In practical terms, this program contributed to the revitalization of local traditions and opened up opportunities for sustainable women's empowerment at the village level. The recommendations include documenting activities, creating preservation guide modules, and forming independent implementation groups as models for replicating culture-based community service programs. Further evaluation is recommended to measure the long-term impact on the local economy, cultural education, and community sustainability. Involve youth and traditional leaders.
