Abstract

This study examines the double meaning of words (homonyms) in the Javanese language using the Mojokerto dialect as part of an analysis of the meaning and use of local language in social interactions in Sidorejo Village, Jetis District. The existence of homonyms is important because it shows that one way of speaking can have different meanings depending on its use, which is closely related to how speakers understand and interpret conversations in everyday life. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of homonyms, homophones, and homographs that appear in speech, as well as to explain their semantics and pragmatics. The method used was qualitative descriptive, with data collected through semi-structured interviews with native speakers of the Mojokerto dialect. A total of 13 speech data were collected and analyzed by considering their meanings and usage. The results showed that there were eight types of homonyms, five types of homographs, and no homophones were found in the speech of the community. The analysis shows that this diversity of meaning not only reflects the richness of the Mojokerto dialect vocabulary, but also reflects the relationship between language and social practices in the local community. This study confirms that understanding context is very important in interpreting meaning, and this is the basis for efforts to preserve local languages in an era of change.

Abstract

The development of Islamic economics in Indonesia has shown significant growth, in line with the increasing demand for a financial system based on sharia principles. However, this growth has also led to more complex disputes among business actors and Islamic financial institutions. In this context, the application of fiqhiyyah principles (legal maxims) plays a crucial role as a normative and methodological foundation in resolving Islamic economic disputes. This article aims to analyze how fiqhiyyah principles are applied in dispute resolution practices within both religious courts and alternative institutions such as sharia arbitration. The research employs a normative juridical method with conceptual and statutory approaches, supported by a review of relevant decisions from religious courts. The findings indicate that the application of fiqhiyyah principles—such as al-yaqīn lā yazūlu bi al-syak (certainty is not removed by doubt), al-‘ādah muhakkamah (custom is an authoritative source of law), and al-masyaqqah tajlib al-taysīr (hardship brings about ease)—serves as a key judicial consideration in realizing substantive justice aligned with maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah (the objectives of Islamic law). Therefore, the implementation of fiqhiyyah principles not only strengthens the legitimacy of Islamic law within the national legal system but also becomes an essential instrument for achieving equitable, beneficial, and socially just resolutions in Islamic economic disputes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the musyarakah contract in a grocery business in Cimahi using a qualitative juridical-empirical approach. The analysis focuses on the implementation mechanism, legal compliance, supporting and inhibiting factors, and its impact on business development. Interviews with business owners revealed that revenue was initially divided based on work shifts, which did not fully align with the musyarakah profit-sharing principle. However, adjustments to the agreement enabled compliance with Sharia by separating capital-based profit from wage-based compensation (ujrah). Legally, the practice aligns with DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 08/2000, KHES, and Sharia financing regulations as long as capital, profit-sharing ratios, and loss allocation are transparently stated. The partnership’s success is supported by trust, open communication, and business integrity, while challenges arise from low Sharia financial literacy and weak record-keeping. Overall, musyarakah positively influences business growth through increased revenue, better governance, and fairer profit distribution.

Abstract

This study examines the controversy surrounding the distribution of Hajj quotas allocated by Saudi Arabia to Indonesia in 2024, focusing on alleged allocation irregularities currently being investigated by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), from the perspective of Sharia Economic Law. The main issue is the tension between Law No. 8 of 2019, which stipulates a regular Hajj quota of 92% and a special Hajj quota of 8%, and the discretionary policy of the Ministry of Religious Affairs through a ministerial decree dividing the additional quota of 20,000 into 50:50 (regular and special). Using a qualitative method with a juridical-empirical approach, this study analyses field data related to the argument of the Sharia-based logistical limit of the Mina area (maa baynal jabalin). The results of the study show that logistically, this policy is based on the principles of Maslahah Mursalah and Hifz an-Nafs to avoid extreme crowding in the regular Mina tents. However, in terms of positive law, this action violates regulations and, in terms of Islamic economic law, contains elements of distributive injustice and Tuhmah (suspicion) due to a lack of transparency that has the potential to lead to risywah (bribery) for commercial gain.

Abstract

This study empirically examines the tax imposition scheme in QRIS transactions through normative legal analysis from two perspectives: Islamic economic law and Indonesian positive law. The study uses a qualitative method by analyzing legal documents, fatwas, and regulations. From a sharia perspective, QRIS is analyzed as a wakalah bil ujrah and ijarah contract in line with the principle of mashlahah mursalah. However, tax impositions such as MDR (Merchant Discount Rate) and VAT raise issues. These issues include double taxation, gharar, and injustice towards MSMEs, which contradict the maqashid sharia. This study proposes solutions through fair policy reform, education programs, DSN-MUI fatwas, and the implementation of blockchain technology. In positive law, QRIS is regulated by the HPP Law and PMK 69/2022. Tax objects include income tax on MDR and merchant income, as well as VAT on payment system services. This system involves various parties, including merchants and service providers. The main challenges identified are administrative complexity and limited understanding among MSMEs. This can be overcome through system integration such as the Coretax Administration System. The study concludes that QRIS can effectively support Indonesia's digital economy if taxes are levied transparently and fairly. Key recommendations include strengthening regulatory synergy to improve tax compliance and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

The implementation of good village governance is essential to ensure that village financial management is transparent, accountable, and oriented toward community welfare. Direct Cash Assistance–Village Funds (BLT-DD) are government programs intended to support poor and vulnerable households at the village level. However, discrepancies often occur between the intended objectives and actual implementation. This study aims to analyze the transparency and accountability of BLT-DD management in Lau Bakeri Village, Kutalimbaru District. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving village officials, beneficiaries, and non-beneficiaries. The analysis refers to transparency indicators by Christopher Hood, including openness of information, accessibility, and clarity of financial reporting; and accountability indicators by Mulgan, emphasizing responsibility and justification of actions. The results show that BLT-DD management in Lau Bakeri Village remains suboptimal. Transparency is low due to the absence of published recipient lists, limited access to information, and unclear financial reporting. Accountability also lacks effectiveness, as indicated by inconsistencies between publicly stated budget allocations and the actual amounts received by residents. The limited number of BLT-DD recipients (17 people per 3-month period) does not reflect the real socioeconomic conditions, where most villagers earn below the poverty threshold. Strengthening information disclosure, improving data verification, and ensuring consistent budget reporting are required to advance good village governance.

Abstract

This community engagement program aims to strengthen student leadership capacity through experiential learning–based training. The implementation method began with a needs assessment conducted through observation and discussions with the board members of the Mathematics Education Student Association at PGRI Yogyakarta University to identify participants’ initial understanding of leadership and organizational management. Based on the assessment results, a training plan was developed that included material design, instructional methods, selection of trainers, and preparation of evaluation instruments. The training was carried out using interactive lectures, simulations, case studies, and group discussions, followed by leadership practice and reflective activities. Monitoring and evaluation were conducted through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and analysis of pretest and posttest results. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement across all assessment components, particularly in strategic thinking, communication, decision-making skills, and the application of leadership roles within organizational contexts. Follow-up actions included continued organizational mentoring and the development of an advanced leadership improvement program. Thus, the training program proved effective in enhancing student leadership competence both conceptually and practically, and it holds strong potential for sustainable implementation within campus organizations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the principles of ushul fiqh—such as maslahah, istihsan, qiyas, and sadd al-dzari‘ah—in shaping the concept of justice in Islamic law, and to compare them with the thoughts of Aristotle and Imam Shafi’i on justice. The method used is qualitative research with a normative-philosophical approach through a literature study of classical and modern literature. The results of the study indicate that Aristotle views justice as proportional balance and distribution based on individual merit, while Imam Shafi’i positions justice as the embodiment of Divine will based on texts and sharia. Usul fiqh functions as a methodological bridge that allows Islamic law to integrate rationality and transcendental values in responding to social reality. The conceptual contribution of this study lies in the affirmation that justice in Islamic law is not merely legal-formal, but also encompasses moral, spiritual, and social dimensions, thus being able to maintain a balance between legal certainty and the welfare of the people and remain relevant in facing the dynamics of modern life.

Abstract

Dengue remains a major public health problem in tropical countries, including Indonesia. The increasing incidence of dengue requires active community participation in prevention efforts. Knowledge is an important factor influencing dengue prevention behavior. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge level and dengue prevention behavior among the community in Medan Denai Sub-district, Medan. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach and was conducted in August 2024. A total of 131 respondents were selected using consecutive sampling. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that most respondents had a very good level of knowledge (59.5%), while dengue prevention behavior was predominantly in the sufficient category (42.7%). Bivariate analysis revealed a statistically significant relationship between knowledge level and dengue prevention behavior (p = 0.007). These findings indicate that higher knowledge levels are associated with better dengue prevention behavior. Strengthening community-based health education and cross-sector collaboration at the primary healthcare level is essential to promote sustainable dengue prevention practices.
