The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude and personal hygiene behavior during menstruation in adolescent girls at SMP Negeri 25 Padang in 2025.This study is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The population in the study is all grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 25 Padang. A sample of 58 respondents was used as a proportional random sampling method. This research was conducted in March – August. Data collection was carried out on May 26 – May 28, 2025. Data were collected using questionnaires, then analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square tests. The results showed that 46.6% of students had poor personal hygiene behavior, as many as 46.6% of students had low knowledge, and 44.8% had negative attitudes. Based on statistical tests, it was found that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p = 0.0001) and attitude (p = 0.0001) and personal hygiene behavior during menstruation. It was concluded that the knowledge and attitude of female students had a relationship with personal hygiene behavior during menstruation.

Abstract

Background: In the elderly there are changes in the biological and psychological functions of the elderly, which usually worsen, giving rise to problems including those within themselves such as sensory, cognitive, central nervous system and musculoskeletal disorders which cause a decrease in balance, resulting in balance disorders and decreased muscle strength. , and muscle flexibility decreases. Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the difference in the effect of providing Chair Based Exercise and Otago Exercise on improving balance in the elderly. Method: This study used quasi experimental with pre test and post test two group design, total sample 26 divided into 2 groups. Group I was treated with Chair Based Exercise and Group II was treated with Otago Exercise. This research was conducted for 4 weeks with 3x training per week. Results: Testing hypothesis I using the Wilcoxon Test showed a value of p0<001 (p0<05) the results of testing hypothesis II using the Wilcoxon Test revealed a value of p0<001 (p0<05) which means that the two treatments had an influence on improving the balance of the elderly. The results of hypothesis III using Mann-Whitney showed that the value in groups I and II was p=0.383 (p>0.05), which means there was no difference between the two exercises. Conclusion: There was no difference in the effect of providing Chair Based Exercise and Otago Exercise on improving balance in the elderly. Suggestion: Future researchers can use the same method with broader data characteristics and a larger number of samples.

Abstract

Psychotic depression is a severe and complex mood disorder with a high risk of morbidity, particularly when triggered by psychosocial stressors such as bereavement and worsened by medical comorbidities like hyperthyroidism. This study aims to describe clinically the interaction between psychosocial, biological, and medical factors in a case of bereavement-associated psychotic depression. A descriptive case study with a prospective approach was conducted on a 46-year-old female outpatient at the Psychiatric Clinic of Muhammadiyah Lamongan Hospital on September 30, 2025. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, mental status examination, and behavioral observation, and analyzed qualitatively. The patient presented with severe depressive symptoms, mood-congruent auditory hallucinations, bereavement stress, and hyperthyroidism aggravating her emotional instability. The diagnosis was *Major Depressive Disorder* with mood-congruent psychotic features, treated with a combination of antidepressants, antipsychotics, hyperthyroidism management, supportive psychotherapy, and family psychoeducation. In conclusion, this case highlights the importance of a biopsychosocial approach in diagnosing and managing psychotic depression with medical comorbidities. Mental health professionals are encouraged to perform comprehensive screening for biological factors and psychosocial stressors to optimize patient outcomes.

Abstract

Anemia remains a major health problem among adolescent girls in Indonesia, with a prevalence of 22.7%, and in Lampung Province reaching 57.6%. Poor dietary habits and low levels of knowledge and attitudes toward anemia are key contributing factors that require attention. This study aims to determine the effect of using e-leaflets via WhatsApp as an educational medium on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls regarding anemia at the Surya Mandiri Orphanage. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 60 adolescent girls were selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a digital questionnaire distributed through Google Forms, while the intervention was delivered in the form of e-leaflet education via WhatsApp for seven days in June 2025. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05) for both knowledge and attitude variables, indicating a significant effect of e-leaflet education on improving the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls regarding anemia. In conclusion, digital nutrition education using e-leaflets is effective in enhancing adolescent health literacy in anemia prevention. Therefore, it is recommended that e-leaflets distributed via WhatsApp be continuously used as an innovative nutrition education medium in adolescent and social institution settings.

Abstract

Smartphone addiction is a condition of excessive attachment to mobile phones that can negatively affect health, including causing sleep disturbances. University students are among the groups most vulnerable to decreased sleep quality due to late-night smartphone use. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of smartphone addiction and sleep quality among undergraduate nursing students at STIKes Panti Waluya Malang. This research used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 54 respondents selected through a stratified random sampling technique conducted from May to July 2024. Data were collected using the SAS–SV questionnaire to measure smartphone addiction levels and the PSQI questionnaire to assess sleep quality. Data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed a p-value of 0.212 and an r-value of 0.173, indicating no significant relationship between smartphone addiction level and sleep quality among students. In conclusion, sleep quality is not always influenced by smartphone addiction but may be affected by other factors such as stress, illness, and lifestyle. It is recommended that students manage their smartphone usage time to maintain optimal sleep quality.

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) remains a global health problem with high morbidity and mortality rates. In Padang Panjang City, TB cases increased significantly from 20 cases in 2020 to 126 cases in 2024. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution patterns of pulmonary TB patients using a spatial autocorrelation approach and to map the vulnerability levels of urban villages based on environmental risk factors. This quantitative descriptive study was conducted in Padang Panjang City from May to July 2025, involving all pulmonary TB patients recorded in the medical records of Padang Panjang General Hospital in 2024. Data were analyzed using Global Moran’s I and Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA) with ArcGIS and GeoDa software, as well as overlay analysis of rainfall, population density, altitude, building density, ventilation, and building orientation. The results showed that the overall spatial distribution of TB was random, but the LISA analysis identified spatial outliers in Pasar Baru and Pasar Usang urban villages. Most areas (14 out of 16 villages) were categorized as high-risk zones, mainly influenced by building density and poor ventilation. In conclusion, the spread of pulmonary TB is strongly influenced by environmental factors. Local governments are advised to prioritize interventions in high-risk areas through ventilation improvement, building density control, and community education on air circulation and natural lighting.
