Abstract

The Depok City Education Office faces challenges in improving work effectiveness, including low teacher competency, high absenteeism, and suboptimal organizational performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership and professionalism on organizational performance, both individually and collectively, addressing key factors to enhance institutional effectiveness. A descriptive quantitative method was used, involving a sample of 298 respondents from a population of 1,170, with data analyzed statistically. The findings reveal that professionalism has a stronger impact on performance (57.4%) compared to leadership (37.3%), and together, they account for 62.9% of the variation in performance, while the remaining 37.1% is influenced by external factors. The change agent dimension of leadership emerged as the most significant, while the direction setter role was less impactful. Within professionalism, the knowledge dimension was highly influential, whereas productivity had the least impact. The study concludes that enhancing leadership and professionalism, with a focus on adaptability and conceptual knowledge, is essential for addressing performance issues. These results provide actionable insights to improve the effectiveness of the Depok City Education Office and similar organizations.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the Gerakan Literasi Syariah (GEULIS) Program made by PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. GEULIS Program is a financial education program for the younger generation that aims to increase Islamic financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia. This research method uses a combination approach, namely qualitative and quantitative descriptive which aims to explore the impact of the program and measure it to determine the social value produced using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) model. This study shows that the GEULIS Program has produced significant social value with three approaches used, namely the present value approach produces a ratio of 1:4.06, future value with a figure of 1:4.87, and intrinsic value shows a figure of 1:4.43. The three ratios based on sensitivity analysis, show the consistency of the > 1 number, this means that the program has run effectively and has a significant impact. In addition, the impact generated by this program has contributed to SDGs 1, 3, 4, 8 and 9. Thus, the GEULIS Program must still strive to increase its effectiveness by implementing it more intensively and expanding the scope of the program.

Abstract

Photography has established itself as a dominant force in contemporary art, yet its boundaries are continuously challenged by experimental practices that merge traditional photographic principles with elements drawn from fine art traditions, such as painting. This presents a critical issue: how can photography evolve conceptually and aesthetically without losing its fundamental identity? This research aims to develop a framework for creating photographic artworks that explore the representational limits of the medium through bold experimentation while preserving its core principles. Employing G. Sullivan’s framework of interpretation, structure, and critical inquiry, the study examines how experimental practices transform photography into photographic imagery, pushing the medium to its conceptual and aesthetic vanishing points. The findings reveal that at these boundaries, photographic imagery transcends traditional representation and evolves into an ideological foundation, demonstrating the medium’s capacity for profound conceptual expression. Despite these transformations, the study concludes that experimentation does not compromise the essential nature of photography—its unique ability to evoke ostensibly truthful memories. By identifying and analyzing these dynamics, the research underscores the enduring relevance and adaptability of photography in contemporary art, highlighting its potential to navigate new creative frontiers while maintaining its intrinsic connection to reality.

Abstract

The issue of humanitarian intervention has again become a discussion in the realm of international relations studies in connection with the outbreak of NATO military intervention in Libya in 2011. A fierce debate among both theorists and practitioners began when NATO carried out a humanitarian intervention mission into Libya by bombing Libyan military bases. This study seeks to understand the controversial events of NATO's humanitarian intervention in Libya by using an approach born after the end of the Cold War, namely constructivism. Meanwhile, the type of research used is qualitative research using discourse analysis and interpretive analysis. The results of the study show that the majority of UN member states have indeed accepted humanitarian intervention as a new norm in international relations, but this new norm has been abused by a number of countries to protect their material national interests. At least in the case of NATO's intervention in Libya, the process of accepting humanitarian intervention norms (including human rights norms and democracy) did not take place through the process of communicative action as Habermas believes. The process of accepting these new norms tends to go through a coercion approach as introduced by Wendt. Then based on the analysis of the discourse, it can be concluded that there has been a hegemony of communication by Western society, especially regarding the discourse of atrocities committed by the Gaddafi regime, so that this opens up the possibility of humanitarian intervention.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a new business model canvas to support PT XYZ's strategic plan in planning investment in the production of halal detection kits based on real-time PCR. The nine blocks of the business model canvas are used as a framework to evaluate the running business model, identify market opportunities, and design a business model that can optimize the potential of the halal market in Indonesia, which continues to grow. The results show that the optimization of elements, such as value proposition, key activities, key resources, customer relationships, cost structure, and revenue streams can support PT XYZ's transformation from distributor to manufacturer. The development of this new business model is expected to improve operational efficiency, maximize the potential of the local market, and create innovative and sustainable products. This research provides a strategic foundation for companies to take advantage of opportunities in the halal industry while increasing competitiveness through collaboration and adoption of modern technology in supporting value-based business development for the halal industry.

Abstract

This research aims to formulate a maximum threshold for political party coalition membership based on proportionality principles to prevent dominance. Research findings indicate that in Indonesia's positive legal system, particularly regarding presidential elections, there are no legal norms explicitly defining political party coalition dominance in presidential candidate nominations. Article 6A of the 1945 Constitution does not directly address this matter but implicitly regulates the limitation of absolute dominance through a "two candidate pairs" mechanism in the second round, preventing all parties from joining a single coalition. Law Number 7 of 2017 on Elections also provides no explicit definition, though Article 229 Paragraph (2) implies prevention of nomination monopoly by a single coalition. Theoretically, political party coalition dominance can occur macroscopically (power concentration by large coalitions) and microscopically (internal domination by majority parties within coalitions). In the macroscopic context, dominance includes the formation of large coalitions that dominate the presidential nomination process, while in the microscopic context, dominance occurs when one political party within the coalition has excessive influence over joint decisions. To prevent this, a normative formulation of maximum coalition membership thresholds based on proportionality principles is proposed. Two alternative maximum threshold percentages are proposed: 25% or 50% of the total number of political parties participating in the election.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Constitutional Court decisions in Indonesia, particularly focusing on the gap between the legal force of such decisions and their actual enforcement. Despite the Constitutional Court's decisions being final and binding, many are not implemented in accordance with the principle of erga omnes, leading to legal uncertainty and hindering the achievement of justice. This research employs a normative juridical approach, utilizing the theory of the state of law, the constitution, and legal certainty as analytical tools. The study's findings indicate that while Constitutional Court decisions have permanent legal force and should be binding on all parties, inconsistent implementation by institutions such as the House of Representatives and the President remains a significant issue. The primary cause of non-compliance is often the lack of adequate legislative responses or the absence of clear implementing regulations. Furthermore, the study highlights that an ideal implementation of Constitutional Court decisions would require stronger monitoring mechanisms and sanctions to ensure compliance. In conclusion, this study recommends revising relevant laws and regulations and establishing more detailed implementation procedures to support the effective execution of Constitutional Court decisions, ensuring legal certainty, justice, and public trust in the legal system.

Abstract

Toyota Learning Center (TLC) has the potential to grow further due to market demand. However, in 2023, Toyota Learning Center experienced a significant decline in profitability and a low client retention rate. This reflects the challenges faced by the Toyota Learning Center in maintaining business growth and profitability amid the ever-changing market dynamics. This study aims to analyze the competency gap using the Importance-Performance Analysis matrix, analyze internal & external factor and design the strategic architecture for the business development of the Toyota Learning Center. Based on the gap analysis results, there are 9 parameters related to the curriculum, training facilities, instructors, and business expansion in quadrant I that need to be prioritized (high level of importance but require performance improvement).  From the results of internal and external analysis, simulation-based facilities and comprehensive development programs are resources that provide a sustainable competitive advantage. Partnerships with VR/AR technology suppliers are opportunities that need to be optimized, and content plagiarism by other companies is a threat that needs to be minimized. The Strategic Architecture is structured over the period from 2025 to 2030, grouped into three stages: strengthening competencies, business growth, and excelling performance, to achieve the vision and mission of the Toyota Learning Center as a provider of the best learning experience in the automotive and cross-industry sectors.

Abstract

Genetic technology, particularly CRISPR-Cas9, has transformed the paradigm of treating genetic diseases by offering new hope for more effective and precise therapies. However, this advancement also presents significant ethical and intellectual property rights (IPR) challenges. This article explores the impact of patents on the development and accessibility of genetic therapy, as well as the ethical issues arising from human genetic modification, especially at the germline level. Using a qualitative analytical approach that combines literature reviews and case studies, the article examines patent disputes that have emerged in the development of CRISPR and how applied patent policies can exacerbate inequities in access to critically needed medical therapies. Furthermore, the article discusses ethical concerns regarding the misuse of genetic technology and its potential impact on future generations. In conclusion, the article proposes the need for more inclusive and balanced policies that prioritize both innovation and accessibility, as well as strict regulations to ensure the safe and ethical application of genetic technology, while considering broader social and cultural impacts.
