Abstract

Central Kalimantan Province has great potential in the agriculture, forestry, and mining sectors, but its management still faces various challenges such as limited infrastructure, low quality of human resources, and environmental damage. This study aims to analyze regional development strategies through a SWOT analysis approach to improve community welfare. The results of the analysis show that the potential of rich natural resources and strategic geographical position are the main strengths, while the limited infrastructure and access to public services are significant weaknesses. Investment opportunities and government support can be leveraged to accelerate development, but challenges such as environmental degradation and social conflicts must be managed effectively. Strategy recommendations include infrastructure development, human resource capacity building, and sustainable management of natural resources. Comprehensive implementation and multi-stakeholder collaboration are needed to make Central Kalimantan a developed and prosperous region.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the Gerakan Literasi Syariah (GEULIS) Program made by PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. GEULIS Program is a financial education program for the younger generation that aims to increase Islamic financial literacy and inclusion in Indonesia. This research method uses a combination approach, namely qualitative and quantitative descriptive which aims to explore the impact of the program and measure it to determine the social value produced using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) model. This study shows that the GEULIS Program has produced significant social value with three approaches used, namely the present value approach produces a ratio of 1:4.06, future value with a figure of 1:4.87, and intrinsic value shows a figure of 1:4.43. The three ratios based on sensitivity analysis, show the consistency of the > 1 number, this means that the program has run effectively and has a significant impact. In addition, the impact generated by this program has contributed to SDGs 1, 3, 4, 8 and 9. Thus, the GEULIS Program must still strive to increase its effectiveness by implementing it more intensively and expanding the scope of the program.

Abstract

The proof of motive in the crime of premeditated murder plays a crucial role but faces significant challenges due to the absence of a clearly defined motive within Article 340 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, leading to varying interpretations and inconsistent applications of the law. Some judges consider motive as a basis for sentencing, while others do not, resulting in legal uncertainty and concerns over fairness and uniformity in judicial decisions. This research aims to analyze the position of motive proof within the crime of premeditated murder and propose an ideal concept for its future application. Using a normative legal research method with statutory, conceptual, and case study approaches, the findings reveal that the absence of a clear directive regarding motive causes inconsistent judicial practices and undermines legal certainty. The study highlights the need to explicitly incorporate motive as an essential element of proof in Article 340 to enhance fairness and consistency in judicial decisions. It concludes that integrating motive into the legal framework of premeditated murder is critical to ensuring clarity for judicial interpretation, upholding justice, and strengthening the reliability of the legal system.

Abstract

This interdisciplinary study explores the evolution of the human brain by integrating perspectives from anthropology, neuroscience, evolutionary biology, and technology studies. It delves into the factors driving brain expansion over time, including social complexity, dietary transitions, tool use, and the development of language. By synthesizing primary and secondary data, the research highlights the interplay between cognitive development and environmental pressures, showcasing how human neural architecture was shaped by adaptive responses to changing conditions. The findings reveal that evolutionary adaptations not only influenced brain size and structure but also laid the groundwork for cognitive resilience, particularly in the face of aging and modern technological advancements. This study underscores the profound impact of social and environmental challenges on brain evolution and its ongoing plasticity. Furthermore, it addresses critical questions about how rapid technological shifts are shaping cognitive functions and neural pathways today. By examining the past, present, and future trajectories of the human brain, this research provides a comprehensive framework for understanding its evolutionary processes and offers insights into navigating the challenges of an increasingly complex and technology-driven world.

Abstract

The advancement of industrial activities requires high-performance management to achieve desired outcomes, particularly in complex projects such as construction. This study aims to analyze the application of the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method to improve product quality in the construction project of the Java Residence Cluster in Sidoarjo. Managing cost, time, and quality remains a significant challenge in construction projects. This research focuses on identifying and addressing complaints or defects in housing units that affect the quality of the project, using SPC as a quality control method. Data were collected from primary sources, specifically from the staff of PT. Mitra Usaha Konstruksi, as well as secondary data from relevant literature. The analysis shows that the application of SPC successfully reduced the number of complaints or defects from 5.95 complaints per unit in Cluster 1 Phase 3 to 3.12 complaints per unit in Cluster 2 Phase 1, with an effectiveness rate of 52.47%. Pareto analysis identified that the majority of complaints were related to doors, windows, and wall paint, suggesting that these areas should be prioritized for improvement in future construction projects. The study recommends the continued use of SPC to improve product quality and identify the root causes of defects to ensure compliance with the developer's quality targets.

Abstract

The Bungur-Kedoyo road construction project in Tulungagung Regency represents a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing connectivity and transportation efficiency. However, challenges in managing time and cost effectively remain significant in ensuring project success. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the project using the Earned Value Method (EVM), a comprehensive framework that integrates cost and schedule analysis. EVM metrics, including Schedule Estimate To Completion (SETC), Schedule Estimate At Completion (SEAC), Budget Estimate To Completion (BETC), and Budget Estimate At Completion (BEAC), were employed to monitor and forecast project progress. The findings indicate that the project is largely on schedule, with an estimated additional week required to complete the remaining 96.908% of work, extending the contracted timeline of 180 days slightly. The remaining cost is projected at Rp. 273,570,437.28, and the total expenditure remains below the contract value at Rp. 8,847,685,552.51 out of Rp. 10,640,186,000. These results highlight the effectiveness of EVM in providing precise tracking and forecasting, ensuring the project stays within budget while achieving its objectives. The study concludes that EVM is a valuable tool for managing complex construction projects, offering actionable insights to improve time and cost efficiency for similar future endeavors.

Abstract

The installation of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar, faces challenges related to cost and time inefficiencies, particularly delays in project completion. This study aims to evaluate these inefficiencies by applying the Earned Value Method (EVM) to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement. Utilizing EVM metrics, the research identifies that the Schedule Performance Index (SPI) is below 1, indicating a delay in the project timeline, with the actual duration extending to 556 calendar days compared to the planned 546 days. This delay underscores the need for a more robust project management approach. The study employs the Critical Path Method (CPM) in conjunction with Microsoft Project to improve scheduling accuracy, alongside recommendations for project acceleration using the Crashing Program method. The findings highlight that early implementation of EVM can help mitigate discrepancies in cost and time, enabling better control and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle. The study concludes that integrating advanced scheduling techniques and real-time performance metrics is essential to achieving efficiency and minimizing delays in similar infrastructure projects.
