Abstract

This study analyzes the persuasive communication strategies used by a TikTok creator in shaping audience perceptions during preloved live streaming on the @Kemala Fashion.ID account. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with participant observation, online interviews, and documentation. Informants consisted of one creator and two active audience members who had watched and purchased products from the live sessions. The findings show that persuasion was built through four main strategies: clear and informative message quality, creator credibility, communicative speaking style, and emotional-personal audience engagement. The creator explained product size, material, price, condition, and defects transparently, used friendly greetings such as “kak”, “beb”, and “besti”, responded quickly to comments, and created urgency through phrases such as “only one stock left” and “first come, first served”. Audience members perceived the creator as friendly, honest, responsive, and trustworthy. The study concludes that persuasive communication in TikTok preloved live selling shapes positive audience perceptions by reducing uncertainty, creating interactional comfort, and encouraging purchase decisions.

Abstract

Film functions not only as entertainment but also as a medium that constructs social, political, and national meanings. This study examines how nationalism values are represented in Aum!, a film set during the political tension preceding Indonesia’s 1998 Reform movement. The study aims to identify and interpret visual and verbal signs that communicate nationalism through Ferdinand de Saussure’s semiotic perspective. A descriptive qualitative method was employed. Data were collected by repeatedly observing the film and documenting relevant scenes, dialogues, facial expressions, body movements, visual settings, and camera techniques. The analysis focused on the relationship between signifiers and signified meanings. The findings reveal three dominant forms of nationalism: courage in defending truth and freedom of expression, solidarity and unity among activists under political pressure, and resistance to injustice as concern for the nation’s future. These meanings are conveyed through firm dialogue, serious expressions, raised fists, collective positioning, and close-up and long-shot techniques. The study concludes that Aum! represents nationalism as an active commitment expressed through struggle, cooperation, sacrifice, social responsibility, and the defense of justice and democracy

Abstract

Oral agreements remain a common practice in Indonesian society, particularly in daily transactions such as sale and purchase, lease, and debt arrangements. Although Article 1320 of the Indonesian Civil Code (KUHPerdata) does not require a written form for the validity of an agreement, oral agreements often raise legal problems, especially regarding evidence when a breach of contract or dispute occurs between the parties. This study aims to examine the legal protection available to parties in oral agreements and to analyze the evidentiary mechanisms and dispute resolution options available in the event of breach of contract. Using a normative juridical research method with statute and conceptual approaches, this study finds that oral agreements remain legally binding as long as they fulfill the requirements of Article 1320 of the Civil Code, although their evidentiary strength is considerably weaker than written agreements. Legal protection can be provided through witness testimony, admission, and judicial presumption in accordance with the Indonesian Code of Civil Procedure. This study concludes that strengthening public legal awareness regarding supporting evidence is essential to protect the rights of parties who enter into oral agreements.

Abstract

Indonesia's rapid e-commerce growth has made User-Generated Content (UGC) marketplaces central to the digital economy, while also increasing civil cyber infringements of intellectual property rights (IPR) affecting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Counterfeit trademarks and copied industrial designs sold through predatory pricing threaten brand goodwill and business sustainability. This study analyzes the shift in marketplace legal liability from passive Safe Harbor immunity toward risk-based liability after Law Number 1 of 2024, the Second Amendment to the ITE Law. Using normative legal research with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches, including comparison with the European Union's Digital Services Act (DSA), the study finds that the phrase “reliable and responsible” in Article 15(1) reconstructs a Statutory Duty of Care. Marketplaces may no longer rely solely on reactive Notice and Take Down mechanisms where passive omission or gross negligence toward recurring IPR infringements is established. Implementing regulations should adopt Notice and Action and Notice and Stay Down mechanisms, Trusted Flagger criteria, and vicarious liability to strengthen legal certainty and Indonesia's digital economic sovereignty.

Abstract

Indonesia's halal industry continues to grow rapidly and holds the potential to become a key pillar of the national economy. Within this ecosystem, the younger generation plays a strategic role as a driver of innovation and job creation, while also promoting an inclusive and modern halal lifestyle. Millennials and Generation Z—generations of productive age brimming with an innovative spirit—make up 53.8% of Indonesia's population. The halal industry encompasses various sectors producing goods and services in accordance with Islamic Sharia principles; its primary focus is ensuring that raw materials, production processes, and presentation methods are “halal” (permissible) and “tayyib” (wholesome/good). Key sectors of the halal industry in Indonesia include food and beverage, Muslim fashion, cosmetics and personal care, pharmaceuticals and medicines, financial institutions, Muslim-friendly tourism (halal tourism), halal logistics and supply chains, as well as media and recreation. An article published by https://ideoworks.id notes that 39% of Gen Z consumers choose halal-certified products—a figure below 50%—which serves as the background for this study. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method involving a survey of 106 respondents (Gen Z) within Pulogadung district, East Jakarta. The measurement of the halal lifestyle utilizes eight research indicators broken down into 20 questions regarding Gen Z consumer behaviour, administered via a questionnaire using a Guttman scale. Validity and reliability testing revealed that all 20 questions across the eight indicators were valid, as their Corrected Item-Total Correlation values exceeded the r-table value (0.191). The research instrument demonstrated good reliability, indicated by a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.783, making it suitable for use as a measurement tool. Descriptive analysis addressing the research problem indicates that, on average, 90% of respondents possess a high level of awareness regarding the consumption or use of goods and services with recognized halal status. In addition to factors such as price, quality, testimonials and ratings, viral status, religiosity, halal industry literacy, and Islamic branding, these elements are also considered by Gen Z when determining their preferences for halal industry products and services.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of ethical leadership and perceived organizational support on employee performance at PT MAS, with work engagement as an intervening variable. A quantitative, explanatory, cross-sectional design was applied to 200 employees selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured five-point Likert questionnaire measuring ethical leadership, organizational support, work engagement, and employee performance, and were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with bootstrapping. The measurement model met convergent, discriminant, and reliability requirements. The structural results show positive effects of ethical leadership on work engagement (beta = 0.41), organizational support on work engagement (beta = 0.38), work engagement on employee performance (beta = 0.49), ethical leadership on performance (beta = 0.22), and organizational support on performance (beta = 0.19). Work engagement significantly mediated both leadership-performance and support-performance relationships. The model explained 58% of the variance in work engagement and 67% of employee performance. These findings indicate that ethical leadership and organizational support improve performance most effectively when they strengthen employee engagement.

Abstract

Allegations of sexual harassment arising during medical examinations create a difficult boundary between patient protection, criminal law, professional ethics, and the legal protection of doctors. This study examines medical legal and ethical responsibility in Decision No. 114/Pid.Sus/2021/PN Idi and evaluates the roles of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), the Medical Ethics Honorary Council (MKEK), the Indonesian Medical Disciplinary Honorary Council (MKDKI), and the Professional Disciplinary Council (MDP). The study uses a qualitative juridical approach centered on the court decision and relevant health-law and professional-regulation materials. The analysis shows that the court protected professional medical discretion because the disputed examination was conducted for diagnostic purposes within professional authority, standard operating procedures, and the therapeutic relationship, so material unlawfulness and malicious intent were not established. At the same time, the absence of professional ethical or disciplinary assessment before criminal proceedings exposed a procedural weakness and a risk of premature criminalization. Law No. 17 of 2023 strengthens protection by requiring an MDP recommendation before criminal investigation. Effective coordination between professional institutions and law enforcement is therefore essential to balance patient rights, accountability, and legal certainty for doctors.

Abstract

The expansion of digital services has increased exposure to cybercrime, particularly phishing-based hacking and personal data theft. This study analyzes Indonesian criminal-law regulation of illegal access and personal data misuse, evaluates law-enforcement implementation under the Electronic Information and Transactions framework, and examines criminal liability in Decision Number 958/Pid.Sus/2020/PN Pbr. A normative juridical design was applied using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, with secondary legal materials consisting of legislation, legal literature, and the court decision. The analysis shows that current cybercrime regulation operates through an integrated framework combining Law Number 1 of 2024 on Electronic Information and Transactions and Law Number 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection. Enforcement nevertheless remains constrained by offender anonymity, digital-evidence complexity, and cross-border jurisdiction. The examined decision established criminal responsibility for phishing and carding, but the sentence of one year and two months was relatively limited when viewed against the present legal framework. Effective enforcement should therefore combine proportional punishment, stronger digital-forensic capacity, and mechanisms that restore victims' economic and privacy rights.

Abstract

This study analyzes the financial performance of PT Blue Bird Tbk using Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and Net Profit Margin during 2020-2024 and compares profitability during the COVID-19 crisis with the subsequent economic recovery. A quantitative descriptive design was applied using secondary data from the company's annual financial statements. Profitability ratios were calculated and compared across the five-year observation period. The results show a clear recovery trend. Return on Assets increased from -2.38% in 2020 to 7.06% in 2024, Return on Equity rose from -3.30% to 9.94%, and Net Profit Margin improved from -8.43% to 11.82%. The 2022-2024 recovery period therefore produced substantially stronger profitability than 2020-2021. The improvement reflects more effective asset utilization, stronger equity productivity, and better operating-cost control alongside the normalization of mobility and the company's business strategies. The findings support the view that profitability analysis is useful for evaluating corporate recovery and stakeholder value creation, while also providing a basis for managerial and investment decisions.
