In addition, the program also includes education to the community on proper waste segregation and management. The result of this community service program is an increase in community awareness and responsibility for the environment as well as a reduction in piles of garbage in various places. The educational program also succeeded in teaching the community about the importance of sorting waste and utilizing recyclable waste. Abstract

In Sungai Ramania Village, there are several issues related to environmental cleanliness. These issues are closely related to the mindset of the community and habits that do not maintain environmental cleanliness. In an effort to answer these problems, the service team came up with 4 activities related to the highlighted problems. The four activities are: (1) Socialization of household waste sorting; (2) Socialization of clean and healthy lifestyles (PHBS); (3) Cleaning up garbage; and, (4) Training in making eco-bricks as an alternative to waste management. The four programs were designed using David Easton's idea of a system. Easton says that efforts to improve living standards contain at least 3 elements of a systematic process, namely inputs, processes, and outputs. This theory is also used as a reference in analyzing performance during the implementation of the service program. This service activity was carried out in Sungai Ramania Village, Mandastana District, Barito Kuala Regency on July 16 - August 21, 2023. Although the implementation of this service program did not cause significant changes, there were gradual changes in the mindset and behavior of the community, which had implications for the environmental conditions of Sungai Ramania Village which looked cleaner. Overall, the service program that has been implemented produces outcomes in the form of growing community awareness and creativity to overcome the waste problem in the village. The realization of this service program cannot be separated from the active involvement of the community and related parties.

Abstract

The waste issue in Indonesia has yet to find the word "finished," especially in Parimata Village, Belawang District, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan. Both organic and inorganic waste is scattered in residential areas and along the banks of the Barito River. On the other hand, the village government lacks a village profile document, which is crucial for the future development sustainability of the village. Based on these two issues, the Community Service Team has initiated a service program that aligns with producing concrete solutions for Parimata Village. In this community service, the team focuses on raising awareness among the community not to dispose of waste carelessly. The service program includes waste awareness and environmental cleaning actions, household waste socialization, and a demonstration of recycling used cooking oil. The last component is the creation of a village profile document. The program activities were carried out from July 17 to August 20, 2023, using a live-in method. The Community Service Team believes that these three programs can increase community awareness not to dispose of waste carelessly, encourage alternative waste management methods such as recycling, and the presence of a village profile document can assist Parimata Village in developing its potential. Furthermore, these three programs can contribute to the sustainability of Parimata Village in becoming a waste-free village with a community that values high environmental consciousness around them.

Abstract

Throwing rubbish carelessly into the river is one of the problems found by the community service team in Tanipah Village, Mandastana District, Barito Kuala Regency. This indicates a lack of public awareness of the environment in which they live. With that, the issues raised in this service program are cleanliness and public awareness of environmental sustainability. This is the background for the service team to carry out education to increase understanding about the behavior of maintaining environmental cleanliness. The aim of this program is to build a cleaner and neater village, to establish good interaction between the community and the environment. The implementation method uses intervention logic based on the empowerment approach, namely enabling, empowering, and protecting. Service activities are carried out live in where the service team stays overnight and is intensely involved with the community for 37 days, from 16 July-21 August 2023. The service team carries out 3 service programs, namely: 1) Nature School; 2) Balingai (mutual cooperation cleaning up rubbish); and, 3) Dividing Plant Seeds. Abstract

In 2022 Karang Buah Village was appointed by Barito Kuala Regency to become a Proiklim Lestari Village, but to raise the status to become a Climate Village must pass through many stages, one of which is the problem of waste. Although the community has an awareness not to throw garbage in the river, the absence of TPS and waste bank means that people often burn garbage as a final solution for waste disposal. This is a challenge to implement Desa Iklim, as it contradicts the Proiklim principle. The solution in the form of a program is present not only to overcome waste management problems, but also to strengthen the Proiklim Village. The waste decomposition period education sign program was created to educate the community, the sign was then placed in front of the village office. The eco enzyme socialization and training program, as well as the ecobrick garden were made to provide solutions in managing waste, for the eco enzyme program in collaboration with Eco Enzyme Nusantara South Kalimantan and carried out at the village hall, while the ecobrick garden program was made using waste obtained from mutual cooperation and the results were placed at SDN Karang Buah. The hydroponic cultivation program was created to strengthen food security by providing another solution in cultivating plants, the cultivation pilot was placed at the village office. Finally, a storytelling program with the theme of protecting the environment was created as an early education to protect the environment, this program was implemented at SDN Karang Buah. The successful achievement of the programs that have been implemented can be seen from the survey given to the community. The results showed that more than 90% of the community agreed that the program provides long-term benefits for the community and village.

Abstract

Improving teacher competence in writing scientific papers is a strategic step to support the improvement of professionalism and the quality of education in Indonesia. This is important because teachers not only act as educators, but also as innovators in producing new knowledge through their community service and scientific publications. This service focuses on a program to improve scientific writing designed to improve the scientific writing skills of teachers at SMAN 12 Banjarmasin. This program includes socialization, training, and intensive mentoring aimed at helping teachers understand the importance of writing scientific papers, improving writing skills, and publishing articles in accredited national journals. Based on the training activities, several main challenges faced by teachers were found, namely low motivation to write, limited technical skills, and financial constraints to attend training. This training program was attended by 21 teachers, where they received material on scientific writing techniques, the editing process, and the steps for submitting articles to journals. In addition, intensive mentoring was provided to ensure that teachers could complete the manuscript until it was ready to be published. The results of the program showed a significant increase in teachers' knowledge and motivation in writing scientific papers. Teachers were also able to document educational innovations based on evidence through quality articles. This program not only helps teachers improve their competence, but also contributes to efforts to improve the quality of education by expanding access to research-based information produced by teachers. Hopefully, this program can encourage a culture of scientific writing among educators.
