Abstract

A shipyard is an industry that designs, builds and repairs ships. The shipbuilding process at a shipyard involves a number of complex stages, from design to launch. If there is too much stock, the company will incur high storage costs. Conversely, if the stock is too low, the production process will be hampered by delays in material delivery, which can ultimately affect the ship's launch schedule. To overcome these problems, PT XYZ needs to implement a better inventory control system. This system aims to ensure the availability of sufficient plate materials to meet production requirements, including forecasting demand, determining safety stock levels and setting reorder points. The method used in this study is a time series consisting of three methods, namely single moving average, weighted moving average and single exponential smoothing using POM-QM software. Based on the results of the study, the feasible method to be applied to PT XYZ forecasting is a moving average with a MAD value of 5,444, MSE of 46,679, MAPE of 6,695% and forecasting results of 85 pcs per month. Based on the calculation results, it is recommended to reorder the sheet material when the stock reaches the reorder point of 271 pcs. This figure takes into account the safety stock of 18 pcs.

Abstract

Ambient air quality is a crucial factor affecting human health and the environment. This study aims to analyse the air quality in Bojonegoro Regency through monitoring using the passive sampler method. Monitoring was conducted in four areas: industrial, office, residential and traffic zones. The measured parameters included the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) and sulphur dioxide (SO₂), which were then calculated to determine the Air Quality Index (AQI). The analysis results showed that the average NO₂ concentration in the first phase was 6 µg/m³, rising to 9.25 µg/m³ in the second phase. Meanwhile, the average SO₂ concentration was 11.25 µg/m³ in the first phase and 11.5 µg/m³ in the second phase. The Air Quality Index showed a decrease from 85.784 to 83.160, but remained in the "Good" category. The decrease in the AQI was influenced by increased human activities and environmental conditions such as vehicle and industrial emissions. To improve the AQI to the "Very Good" category, recommended measures include public education, energy efficiency, application of clean technologies, forest protection, shift to public transport and improvement of monitoring systems.

Abstract

The high physical workload of firefighters has the potential to cause fatigue and reduce performance, compromising safety and productivity. Given the importance of accurate measurement of physical workload, the aim of this study was to analyse physical workload using the Cardiovascular Load (CVL) method and energy expenditure to assess the level of physical intensity exerted by the body during work activities among firefighters using direct observation and pulse measurement during the working day, and estimation of energy expenditure based on recorded physical activity. The research results show that the physical workload of the employees is rather low, with an average CVL of 22.3%, indicating that there is no classification of fatigue. Energy consumption also has an average energy consumption value of 1.51, which shows that their energy consumption is in the light category. On the basis of the results of this analysis, PT also carries out regular health monitoring of physical conditions with the aim of keeping employees in optimal condition. It is hoped that this research will provide a basis for companies to develop policies to manage the physical workload of firefighters.

Abstract

PT ABC is a company operating in the fertiliser industry and plays a vital role in supporting the national agricultural sector. One of the key elements in maintaining smooth operations is warehouse management, which encompasses the processes of receiving, storing and distributing materials. Efficient warehouse management is essential to ensure the smooth flow of materials, minimise waste and support overall operational efficiency. This study aims to analyse and identify waste in PT ABC's warehouse using the Lean Warehousing approach and the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method. Initial analysis shows that the Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) value of 68.92% indicates potential waste within the warehouse activities. The main sources of waste were identified in activities such as unloading goods, reconciling item data with the system and preparing administrative documents. Improvement alternatives were implemented using the 5S principles, including sorting (seiri), reorganising the warehouse layout (seiton), routine cleaning (seiso), standardising SOPs (seiketsu) and promoting a culture of discipline (shitsuke). With these improvements, the estimated PCE increased to 80.11%, reflecting an efficiency improvement of 11.19%. This study shows that the implementation of Lean Warehousing is effective in optimising warehouse management at PT ABC.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the optimisation of the clean water distribution system by PDAM Tirta Jaya in Pamekasan Regency (Sumber Trasak) by examining the effects of water pressure, distribution service, water quality and water quantity on customer satisfaction. The results show that these four variables contribute only 7.6% to customer satisfaction, while 92.4% is influenced by other factors. The correlations between these variables and customer satisfaction are weak, with Pearson correlation values below 0.5. Furthermore, regression analysis shows that the relationships are insignificant, except for water quality, which has a significant but weak correlation. Based on these results, optimising the clean water distribution system requires a more comprehensive approach that takes into account other factors, such as improving customer service and improving the water distribution infrastructure.
