Abstract

Achieving Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) Pillar Four on Household Waste Management within the Banyuwangi Hijau Program requires effective community facilitation. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between facilitators’ internal and external factors and the achievement of STBM Pillar Four in Banyuwangi Regency. A quantitative cross-sectional study was conducted involving 123 facilitators selected through total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and observation sheets and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with Chi-Square or exact tests as appropriate. The results showed that most working areas were categorized as moderately achieved. All facilitators had good knowledge and training experience, while most demonstrated good attitudes, high motivation, and good triggering implementation. Formal education, attitude, motivation, triggering implementation, and demonstration media were not significantly associated with program achievement. However, the use of flipchart media showed a statistically significant relationship with STBM Pillar Four achievement, highlighting the potential importance of appropriate visual communication tools in community facilitation.

Abstract

The 5R culture (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) supports workplace sanitation and housekeeping, which are important for controlling rats in hospital environments. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the implementation of the 5R culture and the presence of rats at Hospital “X” in Surabaya City. An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted in 51 rooms selected through total sampling. Data were collected through observation and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with an exact test. The results showed that 41.2% of rooms had good 5R implementation, 47.1% moderate, and 11.8% poor. Signs of rat presence were identified in 11.8% of rooms. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between 5R implementation and rat presence (p<0.001). These findings indicate that consistent 5R implementation is associated with better environmental control in hospitals.

Abstract

Poverty alleviation remains a priority agenda in development due to the substantial impacts caused by being trapped in the cycle of poverty. Efforts to address poverty can be undertaken through the tourism sector, particularly in regions that possess the potential to grow and develop through tourism activities. This study aims to examine the effect of the tourism sector, represented by the number of tourist arrivals, on poverty levels in the short term in Wakatobi Regency by employing the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model approach. The findings of this study indicate that the number of tourist arrivals does not have a significant effect on reducing poverty levels in Wakatobi Regency. Furthermore, the poverty level in the previous period significantly influences the poverty level in the current period in Wakatobi Regency.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of leadership style, skills, and human resource development on employee performance at the Regional Secretariat of Bombana Regency. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used. The target population comprised 79 employees; a census approach was attempted, and 78 usable questionnaires were returned and analyzed. Data were collected through questionnaires and examined using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 24. The results show that leadership style (? = 0.292; p = 0.012), skills (? = 0.297; p = 0.011), and human resource development (? = 0.299; p = 0.009) each have positive and statistically significant effects on employee performance. The model is significant overall (F = 46.076; p < 0.001) and explains 65.1% of the variance in employee performance (R² = 0.651; adjusted R² = 0.637). Human resource development has the largest standardized coefficient, although the difference among the three coefficients is small. The findings indicate that employee performance is best supported through an integrated approach to leadership, employee skills, and systematic human resource development

Abstract

This study examines the direct and indirect effects of work discipline on employee performance through job satisfaction at the Office of Navigation District Type A Class III Kendari. A quantitative explanatory design was applied to 99 civil servants using census sampling. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0. The measurement model met convergent validity and reliability criteria, although discriminant validity indicated relatively high overlap among several constructs. The structural model showed that work discipline had positive and significant effects on job satisfaction (? = 0.839; p < 0.001) and employee performance (? = 0.485; p < 0.001). Job satisfaction also positively affected employee performance (? = 0.479; p = 0.001). The indirect effect was significant (? = 0.402; p < 0.001), confirming partial mediation. These findings highlight the importance of combining consistent work discipline with supportive conditions that strengthen employee job satisfaction.

Abstract

Waste management is an important environmental issue in Islamic boarding schools because daily residential activities generate waste continuously. This study aimed to analyze waste management at Darunnajah Sawahan Islamic Boarding School in the perspective of the Green Pesantren concept. A descriptive qualitative design was used at Darunnajah Sawahan Islamic Boarding School. Informants consisted of one key informant, 10 boarding-school administrators, and 21 room leaders. Data were obtained through field observation and interviews, then organized and interpreted descriptively based on recurring themes. The findings indicate limited waste bins, absence of source separation, an unsegregated temporary storage area, evidence of waste burning, limited knowledge of proper waste management, and inconsistent implementation of cleanliness rules. These findings show that waste management has not fully reflected Green Pesantren principles and requires integrated improvements in facilities, waste separation, education, supervision, transportation, and consistent environmental rules.

Abstract

Study examines the effects of professionalism and organizational commitment on nurses’ performance, with competence as a mediating variable, at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of South Konawe Regency. A quantitative survey was conducted involving all 46 nurses in the study population. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that professionalism and organizational commitment each have positive and significant effects on competence and nurses’ performance, while competence also has a positive and significant effect on nurses’ performance. Competence partially mediates the effects of professionalism and organizational commitment on nurses’ performance. These findings indicate that strengthening nurses’ performance requires an integrated approach that reinforces professional values and organizational commitment while continuously developing clinical and professional competence.

Abstract

Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), as productive economic activities, play a strategic role in expanding employment opportunities, increasing household incomes, and contributing to national foreign exchange earnings. However, most MSEs continue to face various challenges, particularly limited access to capital, difficulties in procuring raw materials, and restricted market access. These challenges are partly attributed to entrepreneurs’ limited knowledge, technical skills, and entrepreneurial attitudes. This condition highlights the importance of improving human resource quality, particularly through education. This study aims to analyze the effect of entrepreneurs’ educational attainment on the business performance of MSEs in DKI Jakarta Province. The study uses data from the 2024 survey conducted by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) on the Profile of Micro and Small Industries in DKI Jakarta, which was publicly disseminated through digital media. The results of linear regression analysis indicate that entrepreneurs’ educational attainment has a significant and positive effect on business performance. The regression equation, Y = 265,367,295.243 + 130,766.574X, indicates that higher educational attainment contributes to improved MSE business performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the interest rate (BI Rate), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Earning  per Share (EPS) on the stock price of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk during the 2009–2024 period. The study employs a quantitative method with an associative approach and multiple linear regression analysis. The data used consists of annual secondary data spanning 16 years (2009–2024), comprising BI Rate data from Bank Indonesia, NIM and EPS data from PT Bank Central Asia Tbk’s annual reports, and stock price data from investing.com. All available annual data for the study period were utilized, resulting in 16 observations. The results indicate that, individually, the BI Rate, NIM, and EPS do not have a significant effect on the stock price of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. Simultaneous test results also show that the BI Rate, NIM and EPS, when considered together, do not significantly influence the stock price. These findings suggest that these three variables have not been significant factors in explaining changes in the stock price of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk during the 2009–2024 period.
