Abstract

Tanaman kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai obat tradisional dan diyakini memiliki potensi untuk mengatasi malnutrisi serta mencegah dan menyembuhkan berbagai penyakit. Sebagai calon bahan baku obat, karakteristik merupakan langkah awal untuk mengetahui mutu dari simpilia, sehingga hasilnya dapat dijadikan acuan pengembangan penelitian selanjutnya. Tujuan dari karakteristik simplisa dalam upaya pemenuhan persyaratan dan menjamin konsistensi mutu untuk memenuhi standar yang telah ditetapkan sebagai bahan baku obat tradisional. Penelitian ini melaporkan bahwa serbuk simplisia daun kelor memiliki nilai kadar air 4,0%, kadar abu total 6,47%, kadar abu larut air 1,69%, kadar abu tidak larut asam 0,73%, kadar sari larut air   38%, kadar sari larut etanol 18% dan susut pengeringan 6,5%. Rendemen ekstrak yang diperoleh adalah 13,58%, sedangkan hasil penapisan fitokimia dari simplisia dan ekstrak daun kelor menunjukkan hasil yang konsisten antara kandungan alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan kuinon, akan tetapi saponin dan steroid/triterpenoid justru tidak terdeteksi setelah perlakuan ekstraksi. Jenis dan konsentrasi fitokimia pada tanaman sumber berbeda-beda tergantung faktor internal dan eksternal seperti jenis tanaman, varietas, tanah, dan lingkungan tumbuh (luas, ketinggian, dan musim). Saponin diklasifikasikan sebagai saponin steroid atau triterpenoid tergantung pada sifat aglikon, yang dikenal sebagai sapogenin. Selama ekstraksi, saponin dapat terhidrolisis dan terdegradasi, sehingga harus sangat berhati-hati selama ekstraksi. Selain itu, struktur kimia saponin dapat berubah selama penyimpanan atau pengolahan. Ikatan antara rantai gula dan aglikon serta antara gugus gula dapat dihidrolisis dengan perlakuan asam atau basa, dihidrolisis atau diubah oleh enzim/mikroorganisme, mengarah pada pembentukan aglikon, prosapogenin (saponin yang dihidrolisis sebagian) dan residu gula...

Abstract

Daun belimbing wuluh merupakan tanaman yang memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif flavonoid yang bersifat sebagai antibakteri. Ekstrak etanol daun belimbing wuluh dibuat sediaan masker gel peel-off dengan basis PVA konsentrasi 8%, 9% dan 10%. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol daun belimbing wuluh dapat dibuat sediaan masker gel peel-off dan apakah stabil pada uji cycling test. Ekstrak diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%, kemudian dilakukan standarisasi ekstrak, skrining fitokimia serta KLT. Masker gel peel-off dibuat menjadi tiga formula dan satu basis dengan metode cycling test (disimpan pada suhu 4°C dan suhu 40°C selama 24 jam yang dilakukan selama 6 siklus) dengan parameter yang diamati yaitu uji organoleptis, homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji waktu mengering, uji viskositas dan uji sifat alir. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ektrak etanol daun belimbing wuluh dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan masker gel peel-off. Uji stabilitas pada semua formula menghasilkan pengujian yang stabil pada warna, bau, tekstur, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, waktu mengering, viskositas dan sifat alir. Abstract

Sinar matahari memiliki manfaat bagi kesehatan. Sering terpapar sinar matahari menyebabkan kulit kemerahan, peradangan, dan menyebabkan terjadinya kanker kulit. Salah satu cara untuk melindungi kulit dari sinar matahari yaitu dengan menggunakan tabir surya. Daun marpuyan (Rhodamnia cinerea Jack) mempunyai kandungan flavonoid total dan fenolik total yang tinggi serta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan aktif alami krim tabir surya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memformulasi dan mengevaluasi krim tabir surya ekstrak etanol daun marpuyan (Rhodamnia cinerea Jack) serta mengetahui nilai persen transmisi eritema (%Te), persen transmisi pigmentasi (%Tp), dan nilai Sun Protection Factor (SPF). Dibuat empat formula dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun marpuyan dalam krim yaitu, F0 (0%), F1 (0,1% b/b), F2 (0,5% b/b), dan F3 (1% b/b). Hasil menunjukkan nilai SPF F0, F1, F2, dan F3 berturut-turut 1,05; 4,68 (proteksi sedang); 4,74 (proteksi sedang); dan 9,36 (proteksi maksimal). Nilai SPF antar formula berbeda signifikan yang mana konsentrasi ekstrak berbanding lurus dengan nilai SPF. Kata kunci : Tabir surya, daun marpuyan, formulasi, Sun Protection Factor (SPF)

Abstract

Aromaterapi adalah bentuk terapi alternatif dan yang pertama kali dikenalkan dalam bentuk minyak esensial. Contoh produk aromaterapi adalah lilin aromaterapi. Lilin aromaterapi memberikan efek terapeutik dan menenangkan. Bahan alami yang bisa digunakan sebagai pembuatan lilin aromaterapi antara lain, minyak esensial peppermint (Mentha piperita) dan Lemon (Citrus limon). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memformulasi dan menguji sifat fisik pada lilin aromaterapi kombinasi minyak esensial peppermint (Mentha piperita) dan lemon (Citrus limon). Soy wax di lelehkan diatas waterbath kemudian ditambahkan minyak essential peppermint (Mentha piperita) dan lemon (Citrus limon) dengan perbedaan konsentrasi pada masing-masing formula. Kemudian dilakukan uji sifat fisik berupa uji organoleptis, uji waktu bakar, uji titik leleh, dan uji hedonik. Lilin aromaterapi pada formula I (2%:3%) menunjukkan konsentrasi minyak atsiri terbaik dibandingkan dengan formula II (3%:3%) dan formula III (5%:2%). Lilin aromaterapi pada formula II dengan perbandingan (3%:3%) menunjukkan konsentrasi gabungan minyak atsiri peppermint (Mentha piperita) dan Lemon (Citrus limon) yang paling banyak disukai responden. Abstract

Aromaterapi ialah teknik yang dipakai untuk terapi aromatik, dan untuk melindungi serta menambah kesehatan fisik dan mental, termasuk dengan gangguan depresi dan stres. Lilin aromaterapi ialah salah satu aplikasi aromaterapi dengan cara dihirup (inhalasi) yaitu dengan menghirup uap aromatik yang didapatkan dari beberapa tetes minyak essensial pada tempat berisi air panas, dan salah satu minyak essensial yang telah digunakan untuk mengatasi kecemasan adalah jeruk bergamot (Citrus bergamia). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memformulasikan dan menguji sifat fisik pada lilin aromaterapi jeruk bergamot (Citrus bergamia). Soy wax dilelehkan diatas waterbath kemudian tambahkan minyak essensial jeruk bergamot (Citrus bergamia) sesuai dengan konsentrasi pada masing-masing formula. Lilin aromaterapi pada formula I menunjukkan konsentrasi minyak essensial terbaik dibandingkan dengan formula II dan formula III. Hal ini dikarenakan kadar minyak essensial tinggi akan berpengaruh pada sifat fisik lilin, yaitu titik lelehnya yang rendah dan waktu pembakaran lebih cepat sehingga membuat lilin cepat habis terbakar. Lilin aromaterapi pada formula III dengan  konsentrasi 6% minyak atsiri jeruk bergamot (Citrus bergamia) menunjukkan lilin aromaterapi yang paling banyak disukai responden. Abstract

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. This disease progresses through different stages, and its common symptoms include fever, malaise, dry cough, dyspnea, and pneumonia. Since its discovery in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, SARS-CoV-2 transmission has rapidly spread. Unfortunately, the number of cases is increasing beyond expectations, making the spread of confirmed COVID-19 cases easier. To detect specific symptoms in a large population, the relationship between gene variants and patients with COVID-19 can be determined. The data of COVID-19 variations can be obtained from the Ensembl Genome Browser. Herein, the gene associated with 19 variants was selected according to the Haploreg 4.1 version. Additionally, protein expression of missense genes variants using the GTEx portal to determine 2 selected variants: rs200553089 encode the TLR7 gene and rs1061622 encode the TNFRSF1B gene, respectively. The highest protein expression of the TLR7 gene is found in lymphocyte cells, while TNFRSF1B shows the highest expression in the whole blood system. According to the data obtained from the Ensembl Genome Browser, the two most prevalent populations for SNP rs19085059, which is associated with the GPHN gene, are in Africa and East Asia, while SNP rs74956615, linked to the RAVER1 gene, is most prevalent in East Asia. The allele frequency for the TLR7 gene cannot be found in five countries, except in America. Keywords: COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, Single nucleotide polymorphism, Variants.

Abstract

Cyclamate is an artificial sweetener that is not allowed for public consumption, because it isspecifically permitted for diabetics and consumers with low-calorie diets. Syrup usuallyadded as a flavor enhancer (sweetener), color, and aroma. The purpose of adding artificialsweeteners to syrup is to reduce production costs because cyclamates have a highersweetness and lower price than sugar. The purpose of this study was to determine the contentand levels of cyclamate in syrup sold in various stalls and street sellers in the NorthBanjarmasin area, and to determine the data validation method with linearity, precision,accuracy, LOD, and LOQ. The results of the qualitative test showed that 4 of the 9 positivesamples contained cyclamate (samples A, C, E, and I). The results of the method validationparameter test for linearity at 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 ppm gave a value of thecorrelation coefficient (r ) of 0.9987 with an LOD value of 6.4307 ppm, LOQ of 21.4359ppm,d precision value of 0.74%, and an accuracy value of 89.5126%. The results of thequantitative tests were carried out on four samples, namely samples A, C, E, and I, withcyclamate levels of 12.9423, 31.9833, 23.4166, and 115.6469 mg/kg, respectively. Abstract

Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory compound (NSAID) which has low solubility in water. This study aimed to increase the dissolution rate of ketoprofen by forming multicomponent ketoprofen-glutamine in ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1 using the solid-state grinding method. The samples were characterized using Powder X-Ray Diffractometry (PXRD), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), solubility, dissolution rate, and stability tests. These results indicated the formation of a eutectic mixture of ketoprofen-glutamine. From the study of the ketoprofen–glutamine eutectic mixture, the eutectic point at a ratio of 1:1 was obtained at 95.51°C. The PXRD spectra did not show new crystal habits; the solubility test of the eutectic mixture of ketoprofen-glutamine showed increases of 2.450, 2.518, and 2.374 times, respectively. The eutectic mixture of ketoprofen–glutamine had rod-like crystal particles that formed and aggregated. The samples showed an increased dissolution rate of ketoprofen. The stability test showed that ketoprofen-glutamine was stable during storage at 75% relative humidity (RH) and 40 °C for 6 months; there was only a decrease in intensity, as seen from the PXRD spectrum. Abstract

When Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermis are isolated from acne-proneskin, the essential oil and curcuminoids in curcumin (Curcuma zanthorrhiza Roxb) exhibitantibacterial activity against blemished skin. The purpose of this study was to create an antiacne loose powder using Curcuma rhizome extract and to determine which formulationsmeet the best test requirements. Extraction was carried out using the maceration methodwith 96% ethanol solvent. The powder formulation consisted of alba bolus, magnesiumcarbonate, magnesium stearate, zinc oxide, oleum rosae, and talc, developed withtemulawak rhizome extract at concentrations of F0 (0%), F1 (8%), F2 (10%), and F3 (12%).The evaluation of the powder preparation was organoleptic, humidity, powder flow rate,specific gravity, and pH.. The results indicated that the F1 formulation's humidity test resultsof less than 10%, the speed of the powder flow evaluation test results was 15.6%, the angleof repose test result was 26.6°, and the measurement of pH showed that the result of 6fulfilled the requirements. Based on a physical test of the anti-acne loose powder, theCurcuma rhizome extract in the FI formulation with an 8% concentration produced optimalresults. Abstract

Inventory management remains a critical issue for hospital pharmacies. Thus, there is a need for pharmaceuticals to meet economic resources. Moreover, the decision to make drug requests available should be considered, and the complexity of the problem lies in the random nature of and the various constraints that must be considered in any decision. This study aimed to analyze drug management during the planning and procurement stages of medicine in a teaching hospital in Yogyakarta. The qualitative method was used to his type of research is descriptive-analytical with a case study design of one of the public, academic hospitals in the Yogyakarta area. Data collection was conducted through interviews using a content analysis approach. The analysis technique was carried out by reducing data, analyzing data, identifying themes, and extracting data interpretation with the help of NVIVO 12 software. Overall, interviews were conducted with six participants to obtain information on drug management during the planning and procurement stages in the hospital, following the standards of home pharmacy services. The stages also included budget allocation by volume of services, increasing the competence of human resources, which supports the improvement of drug management performance, implementation of e-prescribing to facilitate monitoring evaluation, and availability of complete standard operating procedures. However, the accuracy of drug planning still needs to be improved so that an integrated management information system can support optimal drug management in a teaching hospital pharmacy installation.
