Abstract

MR Spectroscopy (MRS) can help determine the ratio of brain metabolite spectrum results, in diagnosing brain disorders, especially brain tumors. In MRS, the use of different Time Echo (TE) parameters will affect the results of the metabolite spectrum obtained, as well as the signal intensity at different peak and ratio values. MRS can be performed using short and long TE. This study aims to analyze the differences in peak values in the spectrum of choline, creatine and NAA metabolites and to analyze the comparison of MRS metabolite spectrum results using different TE value variations. The type of research is quantitative analytic with data collection methods using observation, experiments, measurements and literature studies. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the use of different short and long TEs affects the results of the spectrum graph, affecting different peak values and ratio values. Both cannot be mutually exclusive, because they have their respective roles in establishing a diagnosis, so the use of this TE variation must be combined in order to establish a diagnosis.

Abstract

Glucose metabolism starts from carbohydrates in food converted into glucose which is useful as energy for the human body. Excess glucose in the body will be excreted together with urine so that hyperglycemia occurs which will cause diabetes mellitus. Urine glucose examination is an initial screening process to determine the sugar level in the urine of patients with diabetes mellitus. A person who has a family history of diabetes has a two to six times risk of developing diabetes mellitus, a person with diabetes mellitus is suspected of having a homozygous recessive gene. This study aims to see the comparison of urine glucose in offspring of diabetes mellitus patients with the dip smear method and the Benedict method. The type of research used is laboratory observation using 10 urine samples from offspring of diabetes mellitus patients observed using the dip smear method and the Benedict method. The results of the study showed that out of 10 samples, 9 samples had different results with sample codes B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J and 1 sample had no difference in results with sample code A. From the results of the study, a statistical test was carried out, paired T test using SPSS type 25 obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected means there is a difference between the two methods.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the Dengue virus and transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The Bandung City Health Office said that this year as of April 26, 2024, the cumulative number of DHF cases in Bandung City exceeded 3,025 cases. This study aims to identify the factors associated between INA-CBGs tariffs and the actual treatment costs of Dengue Fever (DHF) patients at Hospital X Bandung. A correlation research method with a retrospective approach was used to analyze secondary data of JKN claims in 2023. The population in this study were patients who underwent inpatient treatment in 2023 at Hospital X Bandung with a diagnosis of Dengue Fever (DHF) with diagnosis code A91, totaling 906 medical record files. Samples were selected based on the criteria of medical record files with a primary diagnosis of Dengue Fever (DHF) and medical record files with JKN tariff setting. The results showed that length of stay (p < 0.001), medical procedures (p 0.018), and severity (p < 0.036) of illness significantly contributed to the tariff gap. This tariff gap has implications for the hospital's financial loss and potential reduction in service quality. Based on these findings, it is recommended to review the INA-CBGs tariff structure, develop clinical pathways, stricter management of treatment classes, and improve cooperation between hospitals and BPJS Kesehatan.

Abstract

Anaemia occuring during pregnancy represents a significant public health issue, especially in developing countries. Multiple sources have indicated a correlation between blood type and haemoglobin levels, but local data remains limited. This study aims to assess the distribution of ABO and Rhesus blood types and haemoglobin levels in pregnant women in rural Lamongan, Indonesia, and to evaluate the relationship between them. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 60 pregnant women at Ida Susila's Private Practice (November 2024–May 2025). Blood type data were obtained from the KIA Book, while haemoglobin levels were measured using a digital haemoglobin meter. For the data analysisi, the chi-square test and Spearman’s rho were the chosen statistical tools. Blood type O was the most common (46.7%), followed by B (25%), A (20%), and AB (8.3%). Most respondents were Rhesus positive (96.7%). The highest average haemoglobin levels were found in blood type AB (11.6 g/dl) and the lowest in blood type B (9.9 g/dl). Anaemia was most commonly found in blood group B. Blood group was found to be significantly associated with haemoglobin levels (p=0.009). Blood group, particularly, showed a higher tendency towards anaemia in pregnant women. Early screening of blood group and haemoglobin levels is important for promotive and preventive efforts against pregnancy-related especially in rural areas.
